After 200 miles of dry weather driving I thought these tires were good. However the rear end of my BMW lost grip on a couple of big roundabouts in the wet at only 15 to 20 miles an hour, These are OK in the dry, but in the wet they are scary, the tires behave more like plastic than rubber. I am going to change them ASAP, Not impressed!

I have reviewed these tires at various mileages my last one being in October 2011 after having done 10K as these are fitted to the rears.

They are still on the rears and have now done 17k and are down to 5mm all round and wearing pretty evenly. The grip levels over time and getting used to the tires I would say are good in the dry however on a few fast corners the ESP does kick in and they can slide a little. In the wet they have been again good but when pushed to the limit the ESP is on overtime and they do slide around a lot more but you will know when they are about to let go.

In terms of comfort doing a 74 mile commute 3-4 times a week on mixed motorway and country lanes they are very comfortable and excellent cruising tire and absorb the bumps well, they are very quiet also. I am anticipating about 25K before they are down to the wear markers.


Overall yes id buy them again as price is very reasonable.

Only been on the car for 4,000 miles and I am seriously looking at replacing them. Passable in the dry and good aquaplaning resitance in heavy tropical rain (1" of water on road) but they are seriously dangerous cornering in the wet. Might be ok on a RWD sedan however on a heavy, torquey FWD sedan they just are not even close to being suitable.

I`ve had the tires since December(2 rear, drive wheels)on my Lexus GS300 SE,I`VE DONE ABOUT 2.500k,mostly in Cornwall in January with every type of weather you can imagine.Not once did the tires give me any thought of hesitation,see above table.I am so pleased with them,bought from Tire Traders for £59 EACH,THESE TYRES I BELIEVE, ARE A GREAT BREAKTHROUGH FOR BUDGET TYRES,which means better and safer alround motoring for the man in the street.Thanks again Tire Traders and Altenzo tires

i purchase a set off these tires with my new wheels i was very happy with the ride of these tire in the dry but for the wet wheather driving theyre outright dangerous gave no grip what so ever in wet

I bought a set of the Altenzo Sports Comforter tires having done a bit of research. Dont be fooled by the price. These tires are as good as tires at nearly twice the price. The company is new but built on solid foundations, and these tires have many attributes missing on the budget tires (silica compound, assymetrical rather than directional, A rated grip etc.

I took a gamble as I would normally fit Michelins but at £267 for four tires fully fitted rather than £670 for Michelins I decided it was worth a gamble. I have to say I dont regret it one bit. The tires grip as well, are as fuel efficient and are much quieter. They might not last as long but who cares at that price. (Michelins only lasted 13000 miles) So far I have covered 3500 miles and the tires still look like new with hardly any wear (still 7+mm left).

Worth buying now because as soon as Altenzo become established the prices will rocket. A few years ago Kumho were cheap, now they are more expensive than a lot of 'Premium' brands.

just had 2 of these fitted to a mk5 astra at the front. recomended by halfords auto centre in birmingham. they are new to the market but they seem to think they are as good as the next 'budget' tire at only £50 per tire they seem cheap as the next one was £75. these were new to halfords so they have a offer on at mo. 1.2.2012. they seem a lot less noisy than the ones if just replaced (bridgestone turenza er300 as standard still on back)not sure how well they will last or if they will last on the car but time will tell as its only her car and she drives like a old lady. will update review at some point. first inpressions seem fine but remember they are budget and made in china.

If your not a racing driver or rally driver these tires will be fine. I drive relatively sensibly and have not found any issues with going from Bridgestone RE050's ( run flats ), which were so hard I thought about changing them after 10 miles, to these much cheaper tires.

Scary poor grip in the wet a fairly good quiet tire in the dry. lasted 8000 miles on rear and 12000 on front

Very quiet & comfortable tires, which is a plus for our rough NZ roads, wet grip is not a strong point, dry grip is reasonably good. They are certainly not a 'Sporty/Performance' tire, (which is how the tire dealer promoted them to me). After driving on Potenza RE050A's it certainly requires a change in how I drive. The sidewalls are fairly soft for comfort, so there's a tradeoff in steering feel.
They seem like a good 'Touring' tire for a relaxed/average driving style, at a very good price. If that's what you're looking for, then these should be high on your list. Unfortunately they are not for me, shame.

lets get this straight, this tire is cheap. so, it would not get the best scores. what i would like to gauge is the price/performance. for the price i'm getting it, it's very good.
the dry grip and braking is very good. it's incredibly comfortable and quiet. the wear is as good as any mid range tires like Yoko C-drive or Falken 912. and the aquaplaning resistance is good. the downside is the wet grip becoz it lack silica compound. otherwise, a good all rounder for the price...

very low grip in the wet not very progressive would let go unite suddenly!
