Dunlop Sport All Season

The Dunlop Sport All Season is a product that is designed to offer premium performance for mild winter climates, with a three-peak mountain snowflake certification, the Sport All Season will cope with all weather conditions - dry, wet, and snowy.

The Dunlop Sport All Season is a unique concept that employs a rib-design, as well as three important features.

Thanks to a sport-lock construction, the tire provides exceptional handling on dry surfaces. The tire's strong belt and overlay package support sport performance power when cornering by providing better stability.

An aqua-eject tread delivers strong braking performance on wet surfaces; its high-capacity longitudinal grooves and radial edges deliver more extensive road contact by accelerating water evacuation from the contact patch.

Finally, the Dunlop Sport All Season features a weather-flex compound that delivers optimised performance under any temperature or weather condition. The multifunctional polymer blend activates rubber flexibility at a wide temperature range.

The Best All Season Tires for 2024
5th of 7 tires
  • Good handling in the dry and wet, good snow braking, low rolling resistance.
  • Extended braking distances in the dry and wet, lowest grip on ice, increased wear resulting in average value.
  • The Dunlop Sport All Season is another good tire, but another tire that was out classed by the new breed. Its asymmetric pattern left it vulnerable in snow handling, and while it was good in the dry and wet handling tests, it struggled in braking. It did have a low rolling resistance and its wear result was ok, plus is had a low rolling resistance making it cheap at the pumps.

Top 3 Dunlop Sport All Season Reviews

Given 84% while driving a Volkswagen Polo 1.2 (175/70 R14) on a combination of roads for 2,000 spirited miles
Came from Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons Gen 2. These tires are much better in dry then Gen 2, approx as good in rain as Gen 2. Do not like dry braking feel when you press pedal to the floor (hard to estimate your stopping distance) , but dry and wet handling are exemplary. I sincerely doubt I will get the chance to test them on snow, but I hope snow is not trade off for very good dry and wet handling.

Given 100% while driving a Suzuki vitara s 1,4 boosterjet (215/55 R17) on mostly motorways for 600 spirited miles
First 1000Km with this tire at mixed conditions and the impressions are perfect. Breaking and wet drive are excellent. Snow drive is also very positive.

Given 73% while driving a Honda (205/55 R16) on mostly motorways for 5,000 average miles
I needed to replace my Michelin Cross Climate because they wear horribly cupped and sounded like a siren.
I was looking for conventional straight treads and there is not much choice in them.
I found these Dunlop tires and these were also available in 94V which means the side walls are stiffer.
The winter wheels have 205/55R16 dimensions which is a bit of a balloon and a trade off in handling, but for winter I do not mind.

After fitment I was thrilled about the noise comfort, very smooth and "soft" tire. After 4000 miles the tires still feel OK-ish, but when the temperatures drop below 10 degrees Celcius the tires get more noisy, and above 130kph they definitely are present. Light vibrations are present now, had to re-balance the wheels (10 grams each) which helped a bit.

Pro:
The tires are reliable and give predictable feedback to the driver, good in wet, good in snow.
tread wear, nice and even.

Cons:
Aquaplaning when going over a metal expansion joint on the highway when driving through a long bend. Car is perfectly aligned.
Soft side walls, it is not made for sporty driving in cold conditions (not made for it ofcourse).
Humming noise at higher speed.

Latest Dunlop Sport All Season Reviews

Given 89% while driving a Audi A6 (225/50 R17) on mostly country roads for 45 easy going miles
I drove a set of these tires for 3 years in Eastern Europe with moderate weather, mild winters without snow, and hot, dry summers. I used them for about 3 years during which I put 75k km on them, mainly used outside the city on the daily commute of 150 km, at moderate speeds. I rotated them at 15k km between the front and rear axles. Now they have reached the first wear witness, the 3 mm. Theoretically and legally they can still be used but I will replace them. I can say that they are good to very good tires, I am on my first set of all season tires and I am delighted with their performance in any weather. On dry and wet roads, the tires behave very well, they offer a greater sense of safety and for me the longer braking distance in case of emergency braking was not a problem because I have a preventive driving style. The braking system of the Audi A6 is very good and strong. The tires are quiet when running and the degree of comfort when running is premium. In cold weather the tires have the same safety feed back, they are manoeuvrable. There was no need for emergency brake. I didn't use them in the snow because there was no snow. Conclusion: Safe, comfortable tires, premium product from Dunlop. I will definitely continue with Dunlop. I highly recommend it to drivers who want a premium tire but who know how to drive cars and don't brake at the last minute. Ideal for areas where winter is more like late autumn.

Given 81% while driving a Suzuki Vitara 1.4 GLX Mild Hybrid AllGrip (215/55 R17) on mostly motorways for 44,000 spirited miles
After 70.000 Km with these tires, the time has come for them to be replaced. Mostly driven on motorways. Very good tires, very steady performance, without any unpleasant surprises until the end of their life. For sure they have become much harder, but this is natural. The grip on dry is very good. The wet performance also very good. On ice they performed better than expected, although I use all season tires for the first time.

Given 74% while driving a Opel Astra F 1.6 101 hp (175/65 R14) on mostly country roads for 15,000 spirited miles
excellent feeling And handling in the dry. Wet as well very good alongside with braking. Dry braking is a big no with long distance and wheel tendency to lock up (No abs car) even at low speeds.
As the car is in central Italy with very mild climate, the chances to try the tires in the show are very thin but, living in the countryside and having tried them in the mud I can say that the grip is not the best.
In conclusion an excellent all season if you want the summer tire handling in dry and wet but consider a significantly longer stopping distance.
