Firestone TZ200 Reviews - Page 2

Given 90% while driving a Peugeot 206 1.4 90hp (195/50 R15 V) on a combination of roads for 20,000 spirited miles
I have had the rear set for over 4 years and they are showing no signs of cracking like some tires I've had, changed the front set just before 4 years, probably could have given them a bit longer to be honest. I do a lot of motorway driving and had no issues, can be a bit 'hit and miss' in the wet, but depends if you know how to drive!
I used these of the track as well and have not 'spun out', they gripped extremely well, just my suspension let me down, but no the tires. Thats 5 laps at Rockingham and 6 runs up Prescott Hillclimb.

Overall I rate them, but like I said it depends how you drive and I drive hard!

Given 93% while driving a Vauxhall Vectra V6 (205/55 R16 V) on a combination of roads for 8,000 spirited miles
Very good tires for the price. I would recommend these, they are approved by Vauxhall dealers. I just wish they make these in 19 inch so I can use them my other car...

Given 90% while driving a Volvo S40 T4 (205/55 R16 V) on a combination of roads for 15,000 spirited miles
Hard wearing all-rounder with good capability in wet and dry. Very sure on motorway and on country roads.

Given 87% while driving a Volvo V70 2.5 (195/60 R15 V) on a combination of roads for 125,000 average miles
Used to use Continentals as the car came with them but had 3 failures so decided to try something else. These TZ200s are better. I wouldn't go to budget brands but these have been great. I have had many sets now having done 200000 miles in my car. They last 22-25000 on the front after sitting on the rears for a similar mileage. I currently have 2 Hankook Optimo K415 on as the TZ200s were out of stock. They are a similar price but no where near as good in the wet. Firestone next time.

Given 83% while driving a Saab Automobile 9.5 2.0 Turbo Estate (215/55 R16 W) on a combination of roads for 80,000 average miles
Had 2 sets on the front - they seem to last 28k which is good on such a heavy car and one set on the back which look like they will last 50k easily. Boring, reliable, black, round - does just what you need. Never had a balance or quality problem.

Nice and quiet (car came with Pirelli P6000, these are better for noise and life). Much of my life is motorway cruising/fast A roads often heavily loaded.

Have done OK on some snowy roads in the alps as well, I guess the fairly conventional tread patterns work better than tires with deep londitudinal grooves. Not had to fit the chains yet, on 3 ski trips.

They do seem to 'go off' for damp road grip quite badly when you get down below 3mm, but my estimated life includes changing them at 3mm.

Given 68% while driving a Hyundai Accent (185/65 R14) on mostly country roads for 4,000 easy going miles
Bought these from Kwikfit, driven for 4000 miles look as good as new. I'm well pleased with them, on my Hyundai. My brother also has them on his Skoda Fabia estate, does a lot of miles, they wear very well.

These are a nice tire for dry roads, in the wet they are ok but not great as long as you dont over cook them they are ok. They are a very nice comfy tire on long trips, my main concern is the poor millage you get from them.. my fronts are up to just over 8,400 miles and they need to be changed very soon the rears are not far behind either. I will not buy these again they wear out too quickly but they are cheaper than many leading brands out there.

Its an average tire but with very good dry handling and comfort, shame they dont last too long.

Given 70% while driving a Ford Focus MK1 (195/60 R15 H) on a combination of roads for 500 average miles
Bought these as rear tires on my Wife's 1.6 focus and they were absolutely dreadful on a motorway, over 60mph the back end felt like it was going to break away all the time - very disconcerting.

Changed the wheels over, and put them on the front and they are superb, really grippy, and the problem with the rear has disappeared - won't be getting them for the rear axle again!

Just a great all round tire. Replaced Continental Eco Contacts as I had 3 fail on me and these are better in all respects. Dry, wet, noise, economy and wear they beat the BIG brands. Gone through 3 sets now and love 'em. Just replaced 2 with Hankook Optimo K415s as TZ200's out of stock and wish I hadn't.

Given 77% while driving a Ford Fiesta (185/60 R14 H) on a combination of roads for 40,000 spirited miles
Excellent budget tire. Seemed very noisy at first, but after 2-3000 miles quietened down considerably. Seem to be wearing a bit quicker than the original Firestones that did 40k miles on the front! That high mileage was mostly steady motorway driving but I do still explore handling charactaristics from time to time too!
