I put 2of these on the front of my Passat and they were fine, in wet and dry, 3 months later went to France, and the long and short of it was I scuffed a kerb, ther was a piece of drainage metal that had a jagged edge protruding out from the kerb which ripped a whole in the side wall, the tire was wrecked. I could not get a new rainsport tire and hence had to replace both tires on the front, a rel shame as only 3 months old.
Since replacing the fronts to westlake sa05, not the best tire, my fuel economy has markedly improved, Im surprised no one else has mentioned this aspect of the rainsport - having a negative effect on fuel economy, in my case with just 2 rainsport tires fitted on the front I lost about 10 miles per gallon.
