Given 100% while driving a Toyota Yaris (195/60 R15 H) on a combination of roads for 1,000 average miles
Ordered a set of tires in October from Mytires, and a set of alloys off ebay, and was beginning to think i had wasted my money. Then the snow came....!All i can say is wow. Fantastic grip and abs only came on a couple of times all through the snow.Fantastically stable and quiet in both wet and dry conditions and the best tires i have ever had. Brother in law has a brand new Saab 9-5 and couldnt get his car up road to his mothers. My humble Yaris just sailed up.I also think its about time we made winter tires compulsory and ended the winter chaos.

I always thought winter tires were a bit of a gimmick, but no longer. I left Uk 18th Dec when the snow fell and drove through Belgium where 20cm snow fell in 2 hours. I've never driven on a pure white snow motorway, but 500 miles later near Denmark I was astounded. Lorries and cars lying by the side of the road, cars stuck on small inclines and me in my rear wheel drive E class merc driving past at 50-60 mph. I couldn't even encourage traction control or ABS to come on unless I was really mad. Trust me, these are PHENOMoNAL. What 4x4 drivers forget is that whilst they might be able to get going, they can't stop very in the snow on summer tires. Frankly these tires should be obligatory in the winter, as in Germany. The UK would save a fortune.

The only winter tires I could find in the whole of South London on Monday 21st December, were these Alpin A4s. Since then I've just driven them almost 600 miles from London to Hamburg. They are fantastic. Super grip on the wet streets of South London at +3 deg C. Very quiet on the motorways, with no problems up to 70 mph (and I assume up to 130 kph), with temperatures varying from +4 deg C to - 3 deg C. Driving around the back streets of Hamburg where the snow is currently 5cm deep is a doddle - not a slip, slide or wheelspin in sight. The only problem I had was hitting a patch of black ice in the fast lane of the autobahn just outside Osnabruck where there was a little loss of grip. But overall, terrific tires. Should be made compulsory for winter driving here in the UK.

Given 100% while driving a Volvo V50 estate (225/45 R17) on mostly country roads for 2,000 average miles
These tires are unbelievable. Ever since I fitted them I have been telling everyone to go out and buy a set. They perform brilliantly in the wet and in the snow and slush they turn my humble volvo into a 4X4. On sunday drove in foot an a half of hard snow, the only other cars moving were landrovers !.

Buy them today - you will not regret it !

Since I use review pages, I think I have obligation to write at least one review. So I am paying my part. SUBJECT are tires Michelin Alpine A4. A month ago I bought a set after careful study and reading tons of reviews. I did not make mistake. This are the best tires I have driven on the winter conditions. I drove those tires in ice, as well as in wet, mushy show and powder. In all conditions they are just superb. I drove two more sets before (one were first edition of Alpine, and the other were some GoodYear winter tires), all of them in the same price range. The tires are worth every euro spent on them so do not look further, save yourself effort and look no further. I had to wait for my set about two weeks as they were on backorder. They are the best tires for the winter. This is also confirmend by my tire-dealer who mounted about 50.000 tires of various kinds in this season.

Before fitting these Michelin Winter Tires, my C class Mercedes estate was difficult to control in icy conditions. Now grips well and drives a lot safer. Well recommended

Bought these tire 5 days ago, have driven on packed snow, thick slush, ice, and in the wet on the motorway. I am astounded at the performance. It is as if the road is dry all the time, turns my 2.0tdi skoda into a four whell drive car. Up hills ,down hills, outstanding. Should be made compulsory or at least lower the insurance as one is a lot safer.

I work as a taxi driver so if i dont drive i dont earn.
I bought two front tires for my ford mondeo.(205/55/16)
I have driven through heavy snow, black ice and slush and had no problems.
Have also encountered motorways, country roads, back streets and hills with no loss of grip.
Would definetely recommend these tires.

Given 100% while driving a Mercedes Benz C Class 180 Sports Coupe 2006 (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 1 spirited miles
I bought these tires on 12 November 2010 in advance of the very cold winter and was amazed by the smoothness and quietness of the ride in dry and rainy weather.

Since the arrival of the snow on Saturday 27 November 2010 - 8-10 inches ( where I live in Scotland) I am astounded by the road handling and sheer brilliance of these tires. It's as if the snow and ice do not exist and it's like driving on normal road conditions. I have a difficult manouevre from a garage lock-up which has a steep decline / slope into a neighbour's garden in front and these tires make it very simple to negotiate the turn in the snow and ice. Great peace of mind since buying - would definitely recommend.
Female driver of a Mercedes C-Class 180 Sports Coupe - not recognised for handling well in winter conditions - renowned for sliding all over the place in icy conditions BUT these tires are brilliant!
Had to order these tires as a special order - feel they should be readily available off the shelf.Pricey but worth it!
