I love these tires they just keep gripping even with the tread low.
The only time they slip is when brand new and still covered in releasing agent from the factory.
My only criticism is life span I'm a low mileage driver and they are only lasting me a year for a pair on the front and 2-3 times that on the rear. That is mainly enthusiastic driving!

I don't understand some of the rubbish I am reading. For every day use, driven to the legal speed limit (if not slightly more for the fun element on winding roads) and without constant excessive breaking these tires are perfect in all conditions and have a life of 30K plus. May be they are not for boy racers but for every day use plus, they are extremely good.

Had many cars, many tires over the years. Last set of Pirelli's were Rosso, which despite the wear (not good) they were very good all round.

Can't say the same for the Neros. As many others have stated, they have great dry grip when its warm out but add some of the wet stuff, which we have plenty of in Scotland, and they're well below par.

They simply don't grip in the wet, too much lateral give, slipping when the power is applied. Wet braking is better and they don't lock or slide, but steering and acceleration just don't stack up, and that's not against top-line tires, they don't stack up against some mid-range, eg Hankook or Avon.

I'm only 2700 miles into these tires (new car so didn't have a choice) and I've got about 2 months before I switch to winters - will they go back on next spring, doubt it very much! They may have 6.5-7mm remaining but I'm inclined to dump them and go for something better... that's how much I don't like them in the wet.

Given 39% while driving a Ford Mustang gt (245/50 R18) on a combination of roads for 15,000 average miles
Supplied as standard on my 2011 Mustang GT (and also on my earlier 2007GT).

These are a summer tire - fine in dry hot conditions but are appalling in any form of damp weather.

The tires are also extremely noisy on all road surfaces.

They wear well - that's their only saving grace.

Not recommended as there are much cheaper tires giving far better performance.

These tires wore too much on the edges and this was not a wear or alignment issue.
They gripped well in all conditions but tram-lined on worn roads and fidgeted on poor roads and manhole covers and when cornering hard and slow had a horrible transitional sensation, maybe as they rolled? They were quite noisy when past half worn, they were never dangerous though, even when at 1.6mm with edge on the canvas they gripped well wet or dry, just didn't suit the car I think and were expensive due to all the Pirelli sport sponsorship.

Very good tire on dry conditions especially.
Wet conditions this tire can really be put to some limits but when u lose grip u will lose grip in sudden death...also for dry conditions but u have a little bit more time to respond.
Wear is increadible I worned 8 pairs on 160 000km with a very sportive attitude of course (this tire can deal with a lot of pushing)
worst case is snow conditions I did not have grip at all very dangerous to drive this type on snow also depends on the car.

Fine in the dry, not so when it rains, hard to get any power down and cornering is bad. Noisy, not very comfortable and ware was very fast for me, 5k miles!

Given 84% while driving a Alfa Romeo 147 (215/45 R17) on mostly motorways for 35,000 spirited miles
I have a sporty driving style and like to take corners on the limit. The Pzero Nero have extreme good respons and grip for dry roads and my experience on wet roads is very good as well, even on the end of lifetime from the tire. On snow the grip is poor but when you drive slow/normal its ok. Wear back 55000km (i find very good) and front >25000km. And the noise level is good as well.

On a other car I drove one tire empty and drove 160 km/hr without feeling it. So its a very safe tire. I bought again and will buy again.

These tires are ok on a warm, DRY road. Introduce any moisture at all (doesn't have to be raining, just any wet or damp road) and they are horrible. On a wet road they have no traction at all, it's really like being on snow or ice. On and off ramps require the utmost caution to simply maintain control. I will never own these again. Too dangerous.

Beginning with the good points: The grip on dry roads is great, and when you warm them up (which takes a while), the grip will only be better. You'll get great feedback, and no matter how much you push towards it's limits, you'll always be in control.

Then the bad parts: When the road isn't completely dry, it's a whole different story. The first word that comes to mind is dangerous. The roads don't even have to be wet, just mildly damp is enough to transform this tire into a horrible one. My car isn't powerful at all, but I lost count of the times I lost traction on these tires. Taking corners on wet roads will require the highest level of care, and making any corrections will most likely cause you to go into understeer. When they start to wear, it will only get worse. I entered a damp roundabout (which has a huge lane, so plenty of room to correct) last week a bit to fast (intentionally) to check how the car would react after the tires were really worn. To my surprise, it didn't understeer, but the back totally broke loose! Unacceptable.

Speaking about the wear: 10.000 miles (16.000 km) is way to short of a lifespan for tires that are being used on a relatively low-powered car, in a country that has well-maintained roads. Especially when you look at the price of these tires, which is way too high for what you get.

Aquaplaning is godawful. Driving through big puddles or submerged parts of the road will cause you to feel completely out of control. Which isn't a big surprise. Cause with these tires, you are out of control.

On snow of other slippery surfaces, well, just stay at home or call a cab. Utter useless, and very risky. When I only look at the brake-pedal, the ABS kicks in... Pulling up is only possible in 2nd gear, and still you really have to take it very slow with the throttle. Not driving in a gear too high will cause you to get wheelspin.

I can only recommend these if you live in a country that has high temperatures year-round. If not, there are better alternatives. A lot of them...

Given 46% while driving a SEAT Ibiza Cupra 20VT (205/40 R17) on a combination of roads for 30 spirited miles
Awful tire... Designed for 30+ mediteranean heat and sticky Italian/Spanish roads.
They have a very hard compound as a result and so while their wear rate is good they only grip in the height of summer when the heat loosens up the compound.

They also track terribly and bump steer leads me to constantly correct the steering on UK roads. The off the line grip is atrocious regardless of whether its dry or not and they give up when exiting corners. They're braking performance is comparative to an average Tire.

i will never go near these again, and they will be replaced with Kumho's KU31 for less than half the price for a much much better tire
