2009 Australian MOTOR magazine tire test

We'll keep this one brief. Australia's leading independent motoring magazine "MOTOR" recently completed its 2009 high performance tire test. As usual they tested all the leading suspects, but also included a couple of cheaper options to see how they'd fair against the premium brands. This time the test vehicle was an Audi S4 using 245/40 18 tires. The scores were determined using data from lap times, G forces and stopping distances in both the wet and the dry. Onto the results:

Road Tires

1. Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric
2. Dunlop SP SportMaxx GT
3. Continental SportContact 3
4. Maxxis Victra i-Pro
5. Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE001
6. Federal Supersteel 595
7. Marshal Matrac FX

Semi Slicks

1. Dunlop Direzza DZ03G
2. Bridgestone Potenza RE01R
3. Toyo Proxes R888
4. Toyo Proxes R1R

Yet again the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric wins another group test, almost a full 17 points ahead of it's sister branded Dunlop Sport Maxx GT. The Dunlop DZ03G was even more dominant in the semi slick category, winning by a huge margin of 95 points! 2009 has certainly been a strong year for the Goodyear Dunlop Brand.
