If you need to keep your van mobile year round, all season tires are an increasingly popular solution, which is why German publication Pro Mobile have tested seven commercial all season tires in the popular 225/70 R15C tire size.

On test they have all the manufactures you'd expect from a car all season tire test, with Continental, Falken, Goodyear, Maxxis, Michelin, Pirelli and Vredestein included in the test.

As always, Pro Mobile have applied their own score weighting to get to their overall results, so make sure you dig into the data and find work out what you want from your all season tire, as if you spend a lot more time in the dry and wet with rare snow use, a tire like the Michelin Agilis CrossClimate or Pirelli Carrier All Season might be the right choice for you.

Dry

As with all season tires intended for cars, Michelin held a big dry braking advantage with the Agilis CrossClimate, with Pirelli next of the best.

Interestingly Michelin couldn't carry that advantage over to dry, instead Pirelli took the top spot with the Continental VanContact 4S and Vredestein Comtrac 2 All Season a close second and third.

Wet

The Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Cargo held an impressive advantage during wet braking testing, with Michelin in second place.

Goodyear retained its wet grip advantage during wet handling testing, but this time with Continental and Pirelli tying for second place.

The Maxxis VanSmart AS AL2 had a large aquaplaning advantage.

Snow

Snow specialist Continental held a considerable advantage during snow braking, with Pirelli performing extremely poorly.

Snow handling testing repeated the Continental and Pirelli first and last positions.

Environment

Impressively Continental also had the lowest fuel use on test, something important to commercial vehicles.

The Continental also had the lowest external pass by noise, with the testers commenting on a humming noise from the Falken and very loud noise from the Vredestein.
