285/70 R17 Tire Review Highlights
Writing about the BFGoodrich All Terrain TA KO3 rated 87%
while driving a Lexus Gx470
They took everything that I didn’t like about the KO2… noise, harshness, poor hydroplane resistance… and fixed it. The KO3 is an improvement and is a nice addition to my lifted GX470. The on-center steering is acceptable for a truck but not nimble like my Toyo ATIII. The BFG does have good handling but it feels a little slower to change direction than the Toyo. However, this thing takes the cake for braking performance… snow/dirt/street, it stops well everywhere no matter the conditions. Of course it can’t hang with a winter tire on ice because no A/T can. But, it’s a top tier choice of tire. I’m going to put the same size on LRC on my Tacoma.

while driving a Ford Ranger Raptor
Driving on mostly country roads for 71000 spirited miles
After 60.000kms in a ranger raptor i can assure that this tire has been brilliant in every single way.

-Quiet cant hear any noise even with low tread
-Wet roads and low temperature roads not an issue at all and proven that can be trusted
-Ice / Snow do the job without missing a beat

But the most astonishing review is that with 60.000 kms low treat did off road trails with a group of 4x4’s with MT fitted (was the only one with AT ) via mud rock and so one and they were super impressive to the point that everyone was amazed how I didnt got stuck

Driving on a combination of roads for 24996 spirited miles
I have owned 3 set of Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac the first 2 sets were 255/75r17 and now I have 285/70r17. They are fantastic tires and very good in mud, sand, dirt, and amazing in the snow. The can be a little wobbly in loose gravel. I keep buying them BUT they wear very unevenly some lugs wear before other lugs and have on all three sets. They get VERY loud as they wear unevenly. See the photo of the uneven wear. I will keep getting them as they are fantastic off road and snow tires.

while driving a Ford Bronco
Driving on a combination of roads for 23000 easy going miles
As an AT4W owner with 37k KM's (now at roughly 16/32mm of treadlife left), I have a set of LT 285/70/17 on a 2DR Bronco and some days they exceed my expectations and others fall short. I've driven around Ontario, out east around PEI and Nova Scotia, down south through Michigan and Chicago so I've driven them in all elements. For example, driving through a Michigan blizzard, Northern Ontario back-road snow and ice, I felt remarkably comfortable, but city turning in the fall after it's been raining for an hour? I look like "that guy" throwing my back end out or driving through a larger than expected puddle of water, it gets floaty.

I wished I could have gotten a set of AT3W's based on how well they were received, but the AT4W's don't live up to my expectations as a year round tire. Because Ontario gets all 4 seasons, I'll probably end up using these for warm springs/Summer and get a dedicated winter. Perhaps the P-rated spec would've been a better choice for me because of the LT's harder compound and lack of wet performance but I'm not sure.

Pros:
Comfortable
Dead quiet for an AT tire
Deep Snow / Dry Pavement
Off Road
Doesn't throw rocks nearly as bad as the Bridgestone Dueler AT's

Cons:
Wet / Slush
Freezing cold "dry" pavement (-10 to -30 Celcius)

Overall generally impressed with the AT4W's, disappointed in its city winter/wet performance but back roads year-round the AT4W excels. This is my first set of 3PMS AT Tire, so I don't have an AT baseline to compare to. Finally, I'd give them a 7.5/10 based on its warm weather performance, off-road capability and deep snow confidence but deductions in wet performance and predictability/confidence.

Extremely Disappointed with Yokohama Geolandar AT Tires
I purchased Yokohama Geolandar AT off-road tires in March, expecting high quality from a reputed brand. However, one month ago, one of the tires developed large balloons and eventually burst. Despite this clear manufacturing defect, Yokohama refused to honor the warranty, stating that since the tire had already burst, it wasn't covered.
To make matters worse, another tire has now developed two balloons, again a clear sign of a defect, yet Yokohama continues to deny responsibility, claiming it’s not a manufacturing issue, even though the tire is still under warranty.

This experience has been extremely disappointing. It’s not just about poor product quality but also a serious safety concern. Defective tires like these are a major risk to life, and Yokohama’s refusal to address the issue under warranty is unacceptable. I strongly advise others to think twice before purchasing Yokohama tires, as the company does not seem to stand behind their product or their warranty

Writing about the Toyo Observe GSI 5 rated 91%
while driving a Ford F 150
Driving on mostly motorways for 25000 average miles
Third set of Toyo Observe. Tires with nuts (literally). True ice tire. great in snow too. Note: most of us driving on pavement, hard top, motorways NEED ice tires more than snow. GREAT tires. note do not drive on these tires in warm weather (over 6c) the soft compound will wear very quickly and harden - at which point any winter tire will be useless. Cold weather traction is superior to any other tire: on hard snow, on icy snow, on shear ice, on icy hard top, on slick frozen pavement. And deep snow traction is great. Good on cold or moderate (up to 6c) dry hard top too. Can last 5 winters or more when change over is before night temps are over 6c. These tires worth every penny pound cent quid. and much cheaper than any fender bender.
sized owned: 225/75R15; 275/55R20 and 285/60R17.

They are great for off road driving, we drive in an area where there is a lot of stones and they don't get cut! Amazing tire!

while driving a Nissan Arrmada
Driving on a combination of roads for 40 average miles
I am on my second set of these on a Nissan Armada 4X4, I use to tow, some offroad, some snow, highways miles, rain, loaded. I have had 5 sets of tires on this and these are by far the best overall from being quiet down to the wear bars, even and long wear (40K miles), handling is good, grip in rain, snow and ice is very good. On-road performance was better than the OE tires which didn't last 25K miles and were primarily road tires. I put a set on a one-ton, diesel Dodge 4X4 pickup and they were great but wore very quickly, but grip remained very good and were very quiet on the highway. OK off road for a not very aggressive tread, but thats not where they shine. Overall handling was by far the best of the tires I had on this truck, but will need to go back to 10 ply tires if I expect them to go beyond 18K miles. To be fair, diesel Dodge 4X4's go through front tires quickly anyway.
