Passenger Car All Season Extreme Performance Tires Tire Review Highlights

Hankook iON Evo AS rated 47% while driving a Tesla Model 3 standard plus
Driving on a combination of roads for 24000 average miles
For contents review is from Australia
I’ve done approximately 124,000km at time of writing this the car is almost 2yrs old in February 2025. Tires have been thoroughly tested.

Having the pilot sport 4 tires that came with the Tesla model 3 and getting 80k km out of those tires I switched to the hankook ion evo after a lot of research. They are Horrible in the wet! the car doesn’t corner anywhere near aswell in the dry with 40k km on them they will need replacing by 50k km. The pilot sport 4 a week out from replacing in moderate rain wouldn’t break traction would grip even after several intentional attempts. Would not recommend hankooks regretted buying them never again.

Hankook iON Evo AS rated 87% while driving a Tesla Plaid
Driving on mostly motorways for 1000 spirited miles
Original Michelin Pilot sport 4S was worn to 1.6mm after 18000 km. ABS activates in curves, which is annoying as it results in uneven wear on inside rim of the tire. Hankook ion seems not have the same problem, after testing at 300 kmh on German Autobahn, and also slow driving at curvy roads seems like no ABS issues so far. They're also far less noisy than Michelin, and hopefully wears out less quickly.

This Tesla ABS issue seems to be with all tires used, Pirelli, Michelin and Hankook S1 evo 3. But ion is good so far...

Hankook iON Evo AS rated 90% while driving a Tesla Model 3 Performance
Driving on mostly country roads for 1021 easy going miles
I have the Hankook iON EVO AS 235/45/18 tires on my 2022 Tesla Model 3 Performance with 18x8.5 T Sportline TS5 wheels.

The tires are XL tires with 600 Treadwear rating, A Traction rating, A Temperature rating, and W speed rating. They also have a 50k mile warranty. Finally, they weigh about 23.4 lbs according to my bathroom scale.

The efficiency is just incredible with them. I have done controlled efficiency testing around a 25 mile loop with the same weather conditions, battery temp, and battery SOC. The Hankook iON EVO AS tires were 18% more efficient than the original 235/35/20 Pirelli PZ4 tires that came on the car.

They were also 10% more efficient than the 235/45/18 Michelin PS4S tires I had on the same wheels. However, those tires had about 7,000 miles of wear on them. These Hankook tires were brand new with 10mm of tread depth.

I averaged 207 wh/mi over a 223 mile trip at a 61 mph GPS measured average speed with these Hankook tires in a Model 3 Performance. That would give me about 381 miles of real world range.

I definitely want to see Tirereviews test these tires especially for efficiency. The range increase I am getting is just unbelievable with these tires. They are less than $200 per tire at Walmart here in the states. That is actually a reasonable price.
