2024 Sports Car Tire Test
5th of 7 tires
  • Sporting talent with agile steering, good aquaplaning reserves, and short braking distances on wet roads.
  • Rear axle's lack of lateral stability leads to a pronounced tendency to oversteer on both wet and dry roads.

2nd of 10 tires
  • With the exception of the longer braking distances, very safe to drive in the wet thanks to very good aquaplaning precautions. Dynamically sporty, but still not very confidence inspiring handling characteristics.
  • Poor braking performance, especially in the wet. Only moderate directional stability when braking hard in the dry.
  • Inexpensive everyday athlete with only small deficits.

Top 3 Hankook Ventus S1 Evo Z K129 Reviews

Given 70% while driving a Vauxhall Corsa vxr (225/35 R18) on a combination of roads for 12,000 spirited miles
Good all round sports tire, feels good under braking and cornering. In the wet it's good but noticeably less grip than in the dry, which is good as I have found with some other tires in the wet they feel great and then fall off. This tire feels less competent in the wet but it let's you know that through the car and steering wheel so you know your limits. In comparison to the bridgestone s001 and toyo proxes that I've had on this vehicle I would say its the best for dry grip and all weather feel and in my opinion the wear is similar to the other two options aswel.

much better than the continentals that came with the car, cheaper than michelin pilot sport 4

Given 84% while driving a Honda Civic Type R (245/35 R19) on mostly country roads for 0 spirited miles
On my 2017 civic type r these were very good , good handling and felt very fast rolling and quick sporty steering. Perfect sporty tire on warm roads and preferred them to Michelin ps4s , but tread is going down quite quick now after 3 months of driving 5x a week. Want to try new Bridgestone Potenza Sport to compare as similar price but I think these hankooks will be better than them.
