ok, I'm going to compaire these with the maxxis Z1 victras as they were the last tires i had on the front, and I loved them, they were brilliant, but I couldn't get hold of them this time round, so my tire fitter reccomended the kumho KU39's...

I'm a big fan of "mid range" tires, and kumho's are always talked about as being good...

dry grip. 8/10... not as good as the maxxis, but then I didn't expect them to be, I have never had a tire grip as well as the maxxis on a hot dry day. however the kumho's are fine, they grip reasonably, and are very progressive, no sudden suprises... traction and braking are good.

wet grip 8/10... the same as the maxxis, i was hoping with a trade off on dry grip, I would get better wet grip, but thats not the case... still they are again, perfectly good, no realy complaints... progressive in the wet like the dry, no sudden suprises... traction and wet braking are good also...

cant really comment on weat as I've done about 1500 miles on them, comfort fine, but these are 40 profile tires, they are never going to be comfortabole..

a bit less noise on the motorway than the maxxis, these may be good for you if you do alot of long distance drivivng.

buy again? maybe..... I will get the maxxis if they are available, these however are a little cheaper, at £66 a corner fitted, they represent good value for money, so by definition, a "good mid-range tire" :)

Given 20% while driving a Audi A6 Allroad 2.7TDi (2007) (225/45 R18) on mostly town for 12,000 easy going miles
My old car was fitted with Kumho tires when I brought it secondhand. I had never heard of them before. When They wore out I replaced them with Pirelli Allroad tires designed for the car. These wore out very quickly less than 12000 miles.
I now fit Kumho Tires mainly due to price and excellent wear. My Audi A6 Allroad 2.7 TDI had a new set fitted about 6000 miles ago and still have 6mm of tread on them when I PXed last week. The ride and noise levels are very good. In the snow they performed well. That said I do not drive the car to the limit so I cannot comment on this. For a general all rounder they are very good.

Given 97% while driving a Honda City (205/45 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 1,000 spirited miles
To sum it all: these tires r simply amazing!!! The most significant factor is the comfort not to mention that both the dry and wet grips are top notch. The road feedback is greatly improved with the noise level noticeably reduced when compared to the Toyo T1R I was previously using. Got to thank the reviews available on this website to help me make the decision to go with Kumhos as they are definitely not amongst the more marketed tire brands. Personally, I feel Kumho is a very under-rated brand. Great quality at real affordable price!!!

Given 96% while driving a Subaru 04 WRX (215/45 R17 W) on mostly country roads for 5,000 spirited miles
Kumho have been my tire of choice for years now and they keep getting better. I fit Kumho because I have total confidence in them not because of price, the fact they are cheaper than the "premium" brands is merely a bonus. I've had Bridgestone & Goodyear on Impreza's and neither can hold a candle to Kumho. Dry grip is great, wet grip is astonishing! Never had an issue with wear or ride quality either.

Fit them, you too will wonder how they do it.

Given 84% while driving a Mitsubishi Colt (205/40 R17 W) on mostly motorways for 1,800 average miles
Really nice wheels! Time spent with this so far about 3000km and they still look new. Yet no unexpected drops or the like.
Today sitting on a Mitsubishi Colt CZC -07.
Can shake a little with the top down but not bad.

Given 77% while driving a Ford Mondeo Titanium X (225/45 R17 W) on mostly motorways for 2,000 spirited miles

The first things you notice about these tires is how quiet they are. On a fast cross country run in heavy rain, these Kumhos performed very well making the car feel secure and well planted on bumpy bends. Wet grip was outstanding, inspiring great confidence. The tires have deep sipes and are very effective at clearing surface water.Hard accleration on a difficult section of road with an offset camber did not cause any slippage laterally.

In the dry these tires compliment the Mondeos excellent steering and agility. Turn in is fast, and quick changes in direction are no problem. Straight line stability on the autoroute is like being on rails. The only downside is that the ride is more jiggly. The Kumhos definitely have stiff sidewalls and whilst this translates into better handling, it is at the expense of ride quality at low speeds.

My Mondeo is very kind to its tires, so I expect these tires to wear well.

These Kumho Ecsta 39's were £108 fitted each. All in all, they represent excellent value for money and enable the Mondeo to fully exploit its wonderful grip and handling abilities.

I bought a pair of these to replace a pair of Nankang NS2's which came with the alloys due to one of the tires being damaged in a pot hole that the highways agency appear to be incapable of repairing. Well for the first 100 miles the tires were average however after this there was a massive improvement. The dry grip is very good as well is the feedback from the road. These tires appear to have no problems cutting through standing water. If others reports are anything to go by the wear should be good too. These tires represent excellent valuue and after careful run in offer very good grip too.

I went from Dunlop SP3000A tires to the kumho KU39's and the only difference I noticed was in my wallet !!! They are great value, If anything the Kumho's were quieter than the Dunlops. I also had Federal tires which I found to be rather loud and not quite as good as the KU39's !! I would recommend these tires.

Given 80% while driving a Ford Mondeo (235/45 R18) on a combination of roads for 200 easy going miles
Bought 2 of these tires for my Mondeo after reading all the positive reviews on this site. Not too worried about progressiveness as it's a Mondeo, not going to be chucking it about too much! Cannot comment on wear yet as have only had these tires on a week and since they are on the back wheels they will likely last a long time. However I can say they are certainly quieter and less 'bouncy' than the Continental Sport Contact 2 that they have replaced and I will be using them to replace the Conti's on the front when they wear out. They seem to give a smoother ride too. For the price of 145 quid a corner they seem to be a very good balance of price and quality.

Given 90% while driving a MINI Cooper (205/45 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 0 spirited miles
WOW!!! these tires are great. Previously has really rubbish Acceleron Alphas on my mini cooper. During the winter, I managed to spin the car 3 times on the above tires so reviewed quite a few and decided to try the Khumos. So glad I did. I had them fitted approx 3 weeks ago and can honestly say there is a massive improvement in the way my beloved car performs. The grip is amazing. I do push her to her limits as I think I am a racing driver!!! I now feel safe in my car whereas before, my heart used to sink when it was wet. I cannot comment on wear as i've only had them on 3 weeks. The tires have made a real difference to the ride, I do not feel every lump and bump anymore and they are a lot quieter than my previous tires. I would highly recommend these tires to anyone. Seriously, give these tires a go, you will not be disappointed. I managed to get four fitted by E-tires, including new valves and balancing for £296 all in AND they came to my home to do it!!!

Given 80% while driving a Citroën C4 Grand Picasso (215/50 R17 W) on mostly town for 1,000 average miles
I have these Kumho Ecsta Le Sport Extra Load (XL) Tires on my seven seater , the car is now a much comfortabler drive, handling roundabouts a lot keener and a lot softer going over speed-ramps and even feels a lot sharper, I previously had Marangonis (then two Maragones and two Kumhos)which were a simailar price and were a lot harder ride with a lot more Road noise and prior to that Michelins which I do feel rival those. Im very impressed and have heard that some Mercades cars and sprinter vans now come with Kumhos as standard.
I had only had the full set for a few weeks now with half and half before but so far Im very impressed.
Not taken them to any limits in the wet but who would?
