WOW!!! these tires are great. Previously has really rubbish Acceleron Alphas on my mini cooper. During the winter, I managed to spin the car 3 times on the above tires so reviewed quite a few and decided to try the Khumos. So glad I did. I had them fitted approx 3 weeks ago and can honestly say there is a massive improvement in the way my beloved car performs. The grip is amazing. I do push her to her limits as I think I am a racing driver!!! I now feel safe in my car whereas before, my heart used to sink when it was wet. I cannot comment on wear as i've only had them on 3 weeks. The tires have made a real difference to the ride, I do not feel every lump and bump anymore and they are a lot quieter than my previous tires. I would highly recommend these tires to anyone. Seriously, give these tires a go, you will not be disappointed. I managed to get four fitted by E-tires, including new valves and balancing for £296 all in AND they came to my home to do it!!!

I have these Kumho Ecsta Le Sport Extra Load (XL) Tires on my seven seater , the car is now a much comfortabler drive, handling roundabouts a lot keener and a lot softer going over speed-ramps and even feels a lot sharper, I previously had Marangonis (then two Maragones and two Kumhos)which were a simailar price and were a lot harder ride with a lot more Road noise and prior to that Michelins which I do feel rival those. Im very impressed and have heard that some Mercades cars and sprinter vans now come with Kumhos as standard.
I had only had the full set for a few weeks now with half and half before but so far Im very impressed.
Not taken them to any limits in the wet but who would?

I like my premium tires my continentals and my dunlops but this are such good value.

They are approve by merc and vw.

I had the ku31 on my focus st and they were superb. Out lasting the good year eagle f1s previously.

They grip very well in the wet and dry. I tried dunlop fast response and they are a little better for grip but the wear pretty fast. These are £104 for 215 24 17 91 w/y and ku39s £78.


What you get is dependable grip wet and dry 90 dunlop of good year but they cost 2/3 and wear better.

They are such a balanced tire.

I spent a lot of time doing homework to find the right tires to replace the factory Bridgestone RE0500A tires which I was very happy with. I do mostly city driving and got 55000 Ks plus from the the Bridgestones. My days of driving hard are over as you can probably tell from the milage I got from the old tires, however I still wanted high quality tires for mine and my family's safety. A few days after buying the new KU39 I had a trip to the country to play golf with my young son. The original tires were still ok for a few more K's but the timing was right with the trip in mind. I decided to write a review here because of the benefit I gained from this site and all the great reviews.
The KU39s - in a word GREAT. The trip into the country consisted of new sections of highway plus a big stretch of winding bumpy and fast country road. The country road section speed limit was too fast for the poor road condition. The KU39 tires performed so well I was greatful I made this choice on every bend. The tires are very quiet which was an important factor for me. Overall they give excellent performance and value for the money. The tires grip so well they now show my suspension up. When cornering in wet or dry and cornering with bumps in the middle you get such a confident feel and feedback. The salesman at the tire company tried to sell me the cheaper KU19 tire for some reason (I think they must be running them out ??) however I stuck to my homework and bought the 39s. Every time I look at the car now I am pleased I made that decision. I cant comment on the wear yet but at the price these are as good if not better than the factory Bridgestones and more than $150 cheaper per corner.
Thanks to all the people who have posted here, you helped me to make a decision that I am really happy with :-)

Grippy tire, good in the wet or dry. But wore out after only 7000 miles!!

i've used these for about 15,000km and the threads are just about a quarter worn out. Believe they can easily last at least 60,000km.
Dry and wet drip is excellent, especially facing rainy weather these few weeks.
Best of all is the lack of road noise, it is extremely quiet, almost to the Yokohoma ES501 which is well known for ultra quiet but cost twice the price.
Definitely will recommend again!

I have been researching for an all round tire for everyday driving on my 150bhp VW Golf GTI. So far I have used Dunlop SP01, Dunlop fast response and continentals. The Dunlop's have driven well, low noise and good grip even in the snow and had no problems in wet conditions. Price has steadily increased and the review on Kumho KU39 has attracted me along with researching the make to find VW have endorsed them for use on new ranges. I have just had them fitted for £69incl for each wheel so will be back to continue...

Really value for money but do not expect too much out of it. Good grip in the dry and good tire for wet roads.

After running a number of different brands on my Vauxhall Astra i cannot believe how good these tires are. I have had Bridgestone, Continental, Toyo and now these on the same car, so I can compare. The KU39 is without a doubt the best value for money tires i have ever bought. Got these from Micheldever Tires on there recommendations for just under £80 per tire in 17 inch. My god im glad they recommended them.

Very impressed, have run KU31s before and thought they were good, the 39s are even better. My last set was Toyo 888s.
The 39s obviously don't grip as well as a semi slick track based tire but the ku39s are seriously good especially when you consider the 888s are almost four times as expensive when you factor in how long they last. I expect to get about 10,000 miles out of them whereas my 888s were shot by 5,000.

Very progressive breakaway and great feel and feedback from the tire. On a dry track they gave very good grip and were good in braking as well. Only done a few 100 road miles on them, already thought i feel that I will almost certainly be buying them again as they tick the box for my track and road use.

I used to run Toyo T1R in my Civic, but as I started making more and more KM per month the Toyo would simply melt in the road.
Don't get me wrong, they are exelent tires (my favourite street tires)and I am only changing in order to find a longer lasting tire.

First impressions with the Kumho KU39. Silent, very quiet and a lot more comfortable than the Toyo T1R, at the expense of sidewall stiffness.

Dry Grip, a notch lower than the toyo, sidewall is soft but overall it it very good, suprisingly good for the price.

Wet Grip, still not much tested but they complyed very well with the few rain they catched.

When they start to loose grip, they are very predictable.

Let's see how long they last, maybe they will be my defenitive choice for my Daily Driver.
