Bought these after having a terrible time in winter on my summer tires (Conti SC3). They transformed the car. Grip in the wet when it's warmer (above 10 deg C) is less than the Contis and there's less feedback and a less precise turn-in, but on ice, snow, and in general cold conditions they're many times better: There were several times I couldn't believe the car kept going, down closed roads where others were in the ditch. Obvoiously, any winter tire will outperform a summer one in those conditions, but I'd reccomend these on cost against performance.

I have these on the front of an S2000, I use the KW17s on the rear in a slightly bigger size. These tires are amazing, not only in the snow (where they excel) but also in any wintry conditions. The S2k has a famously twitchy rear end especially in the wet and these winter tires go a long way to eliminating that. They are excellent and have transformed my car in the winter and snowy conditions from a unusable very expensive chunk of metal to something which can outperform a 4x4 on snow tires on a hill.

These tires are reasonably priced and transform the car. They are worth every penny.

I have only driven on these tires for about 1500 miles in the last 2 months so no idea on the wear characteristics of the tire.

I have driven and ralllied for 50 years, these tires are the very best. We have 50cm snow and my Volvo S 80 drives in it although it was not there.
