Questions and Answers for the Lassa Phenoma

2020-06-21 - I have 4 pieces of Lassa Phenoma L5H8 9920 2313 225/45R17 91W mounted On Alufelgen. There is no rotation sign, i can not find on the tires. Inside-outsides ok. But if i mount them the V shape pattern on the right side of the car rotating the opposite direction. Is that OK.?? Or the seller cheated and sold me 4 pieces only Left side tire?? Does it have left or right side type? thank you the answer!

This is normal for that tire, as long as they all say "outside" on the outside they are mounted correctly.

The tire made by Bridgestone and the tire you can rely on. Strongly recommended.

Lassa tire very easily to get puncture. Every month at least 1 tire puncture by nail. The rest of it is ok though.

As a Michelin die-hard I wasn't pleased when my employer insisted on Phenoma as his tire of choice! As a national sales rep I spend a long time on the road and demand alot of my tires. However, I was seriously impressed...I couldn't fault them!! I would buy them again and would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone.

Mazda (225/45 R18) on mostly motorways for 20,000 spirited miles
Worst summer tires I have had in my 22 years of driving experience. Very poor grip in dry and wet. Grip is ok only in very very hot days. For 2 years of driving and after 20000+miles they showed very little wear. Very noisy when breaking. Poor handling and understear in more agresive driving in the mountain roads. Absolutely I do not recomend this tire.

I had these tires fitted after a set of nankang NS20s desintigrated. I wish i had found these tires first, for the price they are amazing. Wet grip is excellent, dry grip is phenominal {no pun intended}. They are to be totally fair a little noisey but i can live with it for the price. I will definately be buying these again.

BMW (225/50 R16 W) on a combination of roads for 60 average miles
I used these tires for the 3rd time in a row now and never a disappointed with it. They last for a very long time and drive comfort and handling is nothing short compared to the top brands. I think these tires deserve better reviews. Used these tires for over 60,000 miles before these I tried Bridgestone and Michelin tires they where very good but for half the price you can get tires as good as them I have read many reviews that aren't good but don't understand why because according to my research it is made in Turkey in the same factory and materials as Bridgestone tires and they are half the price of it.

Given 36% while driving a Audi A6 3.0 TDI Quattro (245/40 R18) on a combination of roads for 20 average miles
I have driven the car for 5 years on what the trade called budget / hoon tires but they have had fantastic grip and never screeched or felt any loss of grip even at speed on hair pin bends. These are my third set of tires and the trade recommended these tires and I have always felt confident heading into a bend in the Quattro until these tires were fitted. My previous tires had 230mm of contract with the road, the phenoma only 200mm of contact. Simple physics and crap design. The feedback in the Audi Quattro is now comparable to my RAV4.

Given 34% while driving a Mazda 6 Series (225/45 R18) on a combination of roads for 31,000 spirited miles
The worst summer tire I have ever put on any of my cars. It is very noisy, feels very soft and unstable in hot conditions with poor grip on turns, feels like you have a flat tire. It performs better in rainy cold days, but still quite noisy.

I reviewed these in 2012 on my Astra SRI diesel 160 and they lasted two years including a winter in the snow (they were surprisingly grippy for summer types). No issues at all in any way.
I have just purchased them again and will continue to do so until something better comes along in the same price bracket.
They are hard to beat in this price range in my opinion.

Vauxhall Insignia CDTI 160 (245/45 R18 W) on a combination of roads for 2,000 average miles
I'm afraid I have to disagree with the other reviewers, I had a pair of these fitted to the rear of my car and the handling has deteriorated dramatically. The most worrying aspect is the car now drifts to the nearside meaning the steering wheel is not centred when driving straight ahead. I have returned to the fitting centre on a number of occasions, but having checked the 4-wheel alignment is all within spec they have now washed their hands of any problem, Savoy Tires in Hull if you were wondering. Interestingly, another (more knowledgeable) tire fitting centre, that I have approached on the suggestion of the Vauxhall main dealer, has advised the replacement of the Lassa's saying there are better equivalent brands on the market...this may possibly be 'sale-speak' but if ditching the Lassa's returns the handling I was used to before having them fitted it may well be worthwhile.

Put two of these on rear of my MGZT to replace Kumho K39's. Very pleased with them so far and will now put another two on the front. Excellent value and quality at an outstanding price

Given 72% while driving a SEAT Leon FR tdi (225/45 R17 W) on mostly country roads for 500 spirited miles
Just had these tires fitted to a 200bhp 332lb/ft fwd car

Only got initial findings

Price - £160 fitted for 2 225/45/17 tires in W speed rating which is about £20 cheaper than Kumho's / Falkens / Toyo's (was a bit strapped for cash at the time so took the gamble)

Dry Grip is phenomenal, better on the limit than my old Kumho KU31's which themselves were a very good grippy tire! The kumho's squeelee when on the very limit but so far the lassa's don't seem to do this and grip rather well

Noise and Ride is like any other XL rated tire really, a bit noiser and harsher than a non XL tire but nothing really too different to the old Kumho's

Wet grip is average, tire has very similar charachteristics as a Toyo T1R for anyone who's had them, awesome in the dry and average in the wet. Wet grip isn't as good as the previous Kumho's but it is certainly not dangerous in anyway, has plenty of grip for road use.

Longevity - No idea! But hopefully outlast the old Kumho's and Toyo's i've had (7k miles each) but then i do have a heavy right foot

So general summing up, a more than capable tire for the price, i wouldn't class these as budget ditchfinders thats for sure. Good tire thats safe in the wet and very good in the dry, a good summer tire and if they last i'll definately buy again at the price

Good value for money tires, excellent wear rate over 10,000 miles, can slide a little when cold but not to bad, ok in snow and ice to, would buy them again.

Given 96% while driving a Audi A6 2.5 TDI Quattro (205/55 R16 W) on a combination of roads for 500 spirited miles
good tires, I bought directly from Brisa Turkey at a price of 79 Euro about 68 GBP. I drove on the highway about 500 miles and the first impression is very good, franeza in good condition wet, dry, very quiet, stable cornering. Tires are 205/55R16 94W XL PHENOMA SILICA, INSIDE/OUTSIDE and PLIES : SIDEWALL 2 POLYESTER - TREAD: 2 STEEL + 1 POLYESTER + 2 NYLON. Will keep posted! From Germany.
