Questions and Answers for the Laufenn I Fit Ice

2018-09-18 - Will the Laufenn I Fit Ice tire fit on my BMW X3 Xdrive 20d G01 2018 model?? I have factory installed 225/60 R18 104W XL - Rim 7JX18.

As long as the load rating and size matches what is specified by BMW there's no reason they shouldn't fit.

This first set of I Fit Ice remains a price attractive product. The Lufenn tire model did better than expected and driving in the ice and snow with a Subaru Outback. I am pleasantly surprised at the handling and traction received. This Montana winter of 2016/2017 has been determined in this area to be one of the top 10 most undesirable winters on record. I have no regrets on my tire purchase and the handling I have received. This is a recent purchase and will have to wait to see how the tires wear.

This tire really excels on compacted snow and if studded, does fantastic on ice. Dry handling leaves something to be desired as well as high rolling resistance. Wet handling is ok but does do very well to prevent hydroplaning. I’ve really enjoyed this tire driving into the mountains on plowed but still snow covered roads. Great stopping power on snow and ice as well and rarely have any struggles with abs. I would recommend these for someone ripping their toes into the winter tire game. The snow handling and grip is fantastic but I’m most likely going to grab a set of Nokians for my next winter just for a more balanced feel.

Wears off within 15.000 miles. But that's fine, it's because it's made of very good rubber. It sticks to the road much better then my Pirelli winter tires, for them I paid almost twice as much. EXCELLENT in deep snow and muddy snow. On cold dry roads you can feel that the tire is made of quality rubber compounds as it doesn't sllp at all. I love it and my next tires will be all from this brand, hopefully their summer tires are as good as their winter tires.

The worst tires I've ever had. I've only had them for 3 years/max 10k km (only 3 months per year). When it rains, it's like I'm skiing. They make noise when you start, turn, and brake. Not recommended.

Given 46% while driving a Toyota Camry (235/40 R19) on a combination of roads for 1,200 easy going miles
CarMax chose these tires to put on.. which should be a clear indication that they're CHEAP. They found the absolute lowest price tire they could find, and slapped it on. This tire is the noisiest thing I have ever heard.. it has barely adequate traction on wet and dry. I had cause to drive it in the snow, and the car was barely tolerable. I have had the car for less than 1300 miles, and the INSTANT I can replace them, they're gone. I hope to sell them to a used tire dealer and get something useful out of them.. or perhaps I'll donate them to a place that'll turn it into a tire swing for kids.

Had studded tires years ago and they wouldn’t hold a candle to these. Dry weather was mostly city and some freeway. Never pushing any limits but seemed very adequate. In the rain never hydroplaned or felt any slippage. Used them as a winter specific tire so suspect the pre and post winter warm days most likely the cause of any harder wear. Comfort wise, surprisingly quite and smooth. Again, I purchased these for my daughter’s college car and extremely pleased. As far as deep snow, the wet stuff, a 10. Traction on black ice going downhill- just worried about getting tear ended, a 10. Due to a blown head gasket had to retire the car so only one season under our belts. Have just ordered a set for our new Kia Soul. Again these studded tires are best for snow and ice. If you put them on in the mild fall and drive them until April , maybe 3 winters. 3 months a year of winter driving, 5 good winters. Love these studded winter tires

I bought the tires with the car. I've always driven my cars with mid-priced tires. These were the worst experience ever. The tires were almost new, good performance in the first few hundred miles. But then the first wet roads, I almost hit a fence, just making a turn that I can even do on ice with my other car. Foggy weather, wet roads today, extremely bad performance, long braking, slipping in curves. I've decided to change the tires asap. Dry and snow was not so bad, but I had more problems starting than before.
