These where the OEM types on my forester. Not bad overall, one 13k miles so far. I don’t expect them to last my dealer says about 20k… will see. Also, haven’t used them in snow yet but I don’t have a high expectation. If they wear as expected, I will have a new set by the time we have snow here in Idaho.

Radar Dimax tires did well on my super super low 07 Subaru Forester.
I drive the car hard and they handled well and I used them right up until they were totally bald. Maybe the treadwear could have lasted a bit longer but I'll take that for how well they did. Cheers

Writing about the Bridgestone Dueler HL 400 given 57% (225-55-18-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 75000 average miles
The Bridgestone Dueler HL tires came standard with my wife's 2018 Subaru Forester Touring SUV. Most of the reading that I have done online indicates that these tires are good for about 30K to 40K miles. My wife's tires now have 75K on them and still have a few more thousand miles of life on them. She drives both in town and on the highway. Maybe we were just lucky with the particular Duelers that came with the car. I will be going with Consumer Reports' recommendations at the time to replace the tires.

Writing about the Firestone WeatherGrip given 52% (225-60-17-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 0 easy going miles
2015 Subaru Forester Louder than the previous Gen ArticMax RT43 Bought for possible snow which didn’t occur ** worn to 1-2 mm in just (gauged) in just 37xxx miles which is 57% of the posted expectation These tires were not abused. Only consider WeatherGrip if you expect snow. Otherwise, stay away. PS the Firestone Auto did make a 10% allowance on a new purchase. Unfortunately, I lost more than that on a weak set of tires.

Best snow tires I had in my life. Good on ice and very good on snow. I didn't tried them on dry pavement yet neither on gravel, sand or mud. But I'm confident, because of the grip on snow, that they will perform well off road. The worst is the noise... and gas consumption. It's a choice.

Driving on mostly town for 500 spirited miles
came on a subaru forester bought at carmax. the put very cheap new tires on every car sold, so they look nice and new. but my trade in had michelin defenders on it, and it rode much quieter, handled better, braked better. and my trade in was a cheap kia soul. can't wait to get michelin CrossClimate 2 on this forester, or at least general Altimax, either would be a huge upgrade and i would feel much safer driving them especially in rain and snow...

Writing about the Laufenn I Fit Ice given 54% (225-45-17-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 7000 spirited miles
This tire really excels on compacted snow and if studded, does fantastic on ice. Dry handling leaves something to be desired as well as high rolling resistance. Wet handling is ok but does do very well to prevent hydroplaning. I’ve really enjoyed this tire driving into the mountains on plowed but still snow covered roads. Great stopping power on snow and ice as well and rarely have any struggles with abs. I would recommend these for someone ripping their toes into the winter tire game. The snow handling and grip is fantastic but I’m most likely going to grab a set of Nokians for my next winter just for a more balanced feel.

Writing about the Bridgestone Dueler HL 400 given 44% (-45-17-)
Driving on mostly country roads for 20 easy going miles
At 21,000 miles on my 2018 Forrester Touring the Dueler hl400 are not going to make 30,000. The slightest road bit of a rough road creates a feeling as if you were driving on solid rubber tires on steel wheels ( as in Mack AC Bulldog chain drive. Reasonably quiet.

Writing about the Bridgestone Blizzak WS80 given 74% (225-60-17-)
Driving on mostly country roads for 33 average miles
The best winter tires I've used to date. Used for three winters for traveling around the northern US (33,000 miles total), on a Subaru SJ Forester (2018). In this time, there was never any situation where the vehicle was unable to climb an icy hill, or traverse deep snow. The car has been buried in deep snow, past the subframe, and has always crawled right out with little drama. Tread wear has been very even, and after 33,000 miles tread depth is ~6/32 (these were rotated every 4,000 miles, with pressure religiously maintained at the manufacturer's spec of 30 psi front/ 29 rear. Noticeably noisier than the OEM all-season tire, as expected. Very small penalty to fuel mileage, ~5%.
