Marangoni Mythos Reviews - Page 2

Decent tires, very good value for money and including a puncture warranty. Can't go wrong at less than £100 fitted for a 235 40 18 tire. Decent grip wet and dry and lasting quite well.. Possibly go for the Barum Bravuris 2 next for comparison, but these are a little more expensive at £110 fitted and don't have a puncture warranty.

Medium range price for premium quality/performance/wear. Never achieved 18000 miles from a set of four tires on any car before so very pleased with this mileage on a full set of Marangoni Mythos over 20 months. Just renewed 4 of these with fronts just at the wear blocks an rears down to 2.5mm, having rotated front to rear at 12000 miles. I debated spending more for other premium brands but the clincher was the lifetime free puncture repair, valve and balance, plus damage replacement guarantee........ this kind of confidence speaks volumes and I have to say is backed up now by my own experience of nearly two years driving on a full set. I`ve had premium tires go out of shape so to my mind the guarantee just demonstrates the quality. Am not a nutty driver caring to comment on driving at the limit.... race driving is for race tracks but I`m also not a Sunday driver and like to get where I'm going without wasting time...... these tires have been fine under `enjoyable spirited`driving... hope this is helpful.

Given 81% while driving a Mercedes Benz E320 CDI (235/45 R17 W) on mostly country roads for 38,000 spirited miles
110,000 miles of motoring in this car and I highly recommend the Marangonis. After finding the original Michelin Primacy HP's dissapointing in terms of grip, I went through, 2 sets of Bridgestone Potenza's and 6 sets of Goodyear Eagle F1's on my 280hp E Class Merc. I am an enthusiastic driver and enjoyed the grip from them. The car has a lot of torque and with the power only going through the back wheels and me enjoying the car, the last 2 rear sets of Goodyear's lasted 6k and 8k respectively. After hitting harder times I fitted the Marangoni's purely because I couldn't afford the Goodyear tires. However, after 4 sets of 4 I am very impressed. The grip, accuracy and feedback is as good if not slightly better than than the Goodyears IN THE DRY and they wear around 40% better than the Goodyears(about 12k from the rears when driving like I stole it and then 26k for slightly less enthusiastic driving).

The only thing is that the wet grip is probably 20% less than the Goodyear's but I am not suggesting for one second it is anything other than good (but there isn't a tire that can touch the Goodyears in the wet). As for snow... forget it, like all the rest, they are a performance summer tire so you shouldn't expect it.

Given 29% while driving a Volkswagen CC (225/45 R17) on mostly town for 60 easy going miles
I just bought a brand new vehicle last year. I have only driven about 30,000km on my vehicle. However these tire were only used to 2 summer seasons. In the second summer these tire make alot of noise when driving, as well as I found on the 2 of my back wheels a massive bumps on the side of each tire. Let me remind you I have only used the tires for 2 season; meaning April to November, without driving rough.

Given 100% while driving a Holden SS Commodore (235/40 R18 R) on a combination of roads for 1,000 spirited miles
The Marangoni tires saved me from a sideways drift accident with another vehicle on a slightly damp, multi-laned road. The Marangonis really assist tracking and correction if you can drop the power quick enough to allow the wheels to engage the road between gear shifts on this monster. That snaps it straight back into line. I must have missed the dude by no more than 5mm.

It is a 462hp V8 auto, and with the HD trans it fishtails during gear shifts under power. There is no tire that can resist this motor, but the Marangoni Mythos are having a pretty good try.

Highly recommended tire!

I run a RWD Street Car - a 462BHP V8 with Marangonis, and am quite happy with the Mythos tires' ability to hold the road, especially in lateral situations like cornering and hard turning at speed.

There is no tire known to humanity that can hold this baby on the ground if you want to make the rear wheels spin, but the Marangonis do a great job trying.

This tire is quite a popular alternative to its Pirelli equivalent here in Australia for Street Commodores.

I've given the tire a high Wet Rating because I always slow down a bit in the wet, and the braking ability of the Marangonis is without complaint as such. (462hp and wet city roads don't go very well together)

Given 89% while driving a Ford Mondeo Titanium X (235/40 R18 W) on mostly town for 4,000 average miles
Put a passenger front tire on to see how it would go. Now putting another one on the front drivers side. At 2/3rds of the price of the pirelli or continentals, they are great. Life in Scotland is rarely dry so these give lots of confidence in the wet and wild conditions up here. Wear and tear is good after 4000 miles in 6 weeks! Also the car is noticeable quieter on longer motorway runs. I was originally sceptical, but am now a convert based on price and performance.

Great value replacement for Pirelli P Zero Rossos. Car feels very good on them, firm and condidence building on the road. I tend to be picky with tires, and did a lot of reading up before I put them on, so happy with my choice and will be using these again.

Also they look good, and have good rim protection. Fronts have not done 12000 miles, and looking at the wear so far I'm expecting at least 18000 before they're worn out - and that's on a 300bhp car.

Ride is good, noise is low, grip is good. If I'm being really picky I think the Pirellis are a bit softer and higher grip in the dry, but these were near half the price. Highly recommended.

I had never heard of these tires, the garage fitted them when I bought my car as the ones on it were worn. I changed the fronts after about 24,000 miles as they were down to about 2+mm. The rears are still at about 3mm and they have now done 45,000 miles. Awesome lasting ability and that's after the Kwik Fit guy said they were rubbish tire that don't last when he was changing the front 2, he had to swallow his words when I told him they had already done 24k. The rears need changing as one has gone out of shape and is starting to wobble. Slighlty noisy but excellent wear. I mainly do motorway driving, I don't hammer them but neither have I got Miss Daisy in the back so they take a bit of stick.

Decent tire wear at 5mm having been on the front for 8000miles shall now be rotating them to back and they should easily last another 10000. no real issues with these tires at all.
