Marangoni Verso Reviews - Page 3

Given 84% while driving a Honda Accord (205/55 R16 V) on a combination of roads for 10,000 average miles
I bought a set of these Italian made tires from my local Kwik Fit about 8 months ago now and I won't hear a bad word about them. I've had my car for 7 years now and this will be it's fourth set of tires. I've now done over 10,000 miles on the Marangoni and I can't fault them. I don't drive like a pensioner and I enjoy the odd blast along back roads etc, and honestly the tires are as good as anything that has been on the car before (easily equal to my previous Pirelli's and MUCH better than a short lived set of Toyo!). They are quiet, they grip well in the wet and the dry, and it looks like I'll get over 15,000 miles from the fronts (and more from the rears) I can't understand some of the other comments..... do some people bother to adjust their driving style in the wet.... or ever check their tire pressures etc?? I will certainly buy this brand again.

Given 23% while driving a Mazda 6 (205/55 R16 V) on a combination of roads for 8,000 average miles
Only ok in the dry, doesn't take much pushing to find the limit though! Absolutely terrible in the wet, like driving ice!!! Not brave enough to actually try these in the winter! Done 8000 miles approx. just 1mm off wear marker. Value for money - no! But if you are stark raving mad, with a death wish, go ahead and make a purchase!!

Given 54% while driving a SEAT ALhambra TDi (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 4,000 average miles
I replaced all of my tires in one hit with Marangoni tires and at first they seemed fine but after just 2 months the ride is so rough, I feel like the suspension has gone on the car, I feel every possible lump and bump on the road. I took the car to SEAT to get the car checked over as it is still in warranty and they say it is the tires, Kwik Fit say the tires are fine. I will try a differnt make next time

Given 29% while driving a Mercedes Benz E Class (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 2,000 average miles
Tried a pair on the back of my MB E220 CDI.

I called Mytires to ask if they had a pair in stock, in the UK for immediate delivery, & was told "yes - right here".
They took 5 weeks to arrive - from Germany !!!
Won't be shopping with these liars again.

On the day of fitting, the traction light kept coming on. This was the first time i'd actually seen the light operate. I thought it was because they were new & shiney, & might 'bed in' ?! 2000m later & light still comes on. Went shopping today in the rain - lost the back end at a roundabout.
Won't be getting this brand again.

Given 64% while driving a Ford Mondeo (195/60 R15 H) on a combination of roads for 8,000 average miles
The grip was excellent in dry and in the wet. The only problem was the wore out on the front of my mk2 Mondeo i only 8000 miles which is terrible as its only my work car and didnt get ragged about fast.

Given 70% while driving a BMW E39 5 series (225/55 R16 V) on a combination of roads for 22,000 average miles
Ultimate grip is not what this tire is about. However, over a long period of time and in most conditions, it's excellent value for money. It held a heavy car on the road in comfort for a lot of miles. Tire noise is quite good and the wear rate is very good.

It's not a high-performance tire, but it is an excellent mid-range one.

If it has a weak point, however, it is that it's not terribly good in slippery conditions such as slush, snow and ice. You'll need a second set of tires if you intend doing any amount of driving in these conditions.

Given 87% while driving a Ford Focus MK3 (205/55 R16 V) on a combination of roads for 3,000 average miles
I had these tires fitted by Kwik Fit a few months ago and have to say I've been quite impressed. I had Continental on the car from new and these grip just as well in all conditions. Also the Marangoni tires are noticeably quieter on my car that the continentals.
All in all they seem to be a very good quality set of tires.

Given 92% while driving a Vauxhall Vectra SRI 1.9 (150) (215/55 R16 V) on mostly country roads for 1,000 spirited miles
i drive a vectra 1.9cdti 150ps and recently fitted 215\55\16 marangino verso tires to the rear. the Bridgestones i removed worked well and were comfortable and stable in cornering. The verso also works well with a smooth ride, good feedback and unbelievable grip in wet or dry...fast corners on undulating country roads is like driving on rails

Given 38% while driving a Ford (205/55 R16 V) on a combination of roads for 500 average miles
I have had these tires for less than 500 miles and I am returning them to the dealer. The wet weather grip is absolutely shocking. On three occasions now under normal driving conditions on damp to wet roads I have suddenly lost all grip at the front of my car causing me to understeer across the road. This has happened in slow and medium speed corners with no real warning or progressive breakout. You have grip then you don't.
I saved myself ?15 per tire over the premium brands and it has taught me a harsh lesson. You get what you pay for.

Given 54% while driving a Volkswagen b5 1.8t (195/65 R15 R) on a combination of roads for 10,000 average miles
Strangely one tire got worn out much quicker than the others, I thought the tracking was out but no.
It was just the tire which appears to be softer than the other three.
Just out of the warranty period!
