Michelin CrossClimate 2 Reviews - Page 4

Given 84% while driving a Audi A3 S Line Sportback 2.0 TDI 184 (225/40 R18) on a combination of roads for 500 average miles
Recently put a full set of these tires on my A3. They replaced the Michelin Pilot Sport 4's (which lasted for twenty thousand miles/three and a half years).
The Cross Climate 2's are a huge improvement when it comes to comfort and cabin noise. The PS 4's were very crashy on rough roads and they were noisy. The CC's are quieter and so much more forgiving. Time will tell how they perform in the winter months. I would recommend these tires if you would like a more comfortable ride.

Great choince for relaxed and safe motoring. Only issue is the wet performance, braking and handling, but the grip threshold is very well communicated and linear. The aquaplaning is fantastic, too. Only issue with this tire is snow grip in... reverse! In fact there is almost no grip on that direction on snow/ice, which lead to very unpleasent morning one day. Now I need to plan and choose parking spots carefuly, when in winter conditions. No one mentions this and I think winter/all season tires should be related for both directions.

These are the NOISEIST tires I have ever owned(over 60 years)!!! Definitely would not buy this tire again. Ride is ok. For the price I paid expected a smoother ride. I hope these tires don't last the 60,000 miles they are warranted for.

Fitted these tires to my RAV4 Hybrid. They were far superior to any previous tires.

Given 78% while driving a Audi A7 3.0TDi Auto (255/40 R19) on a combination of roads for 32,000 easy going miles
Fitted these 32,000 miles ago based on reviews on this site and others; I haven't been disappointed. I haven't tested handling or wet and dry braking on the limit, but at reasonable speeds, they have always been reassuring and never given cause for worry on ice or snow, They were pretty quiet at first, but as they have worn, they have become a little noisier on some surfaces. However, they are still very quiet on good motorway tarmac. I didn't think they would last for 32,000 miles, but they still have between 3.5 and 4.5mm tread after being rotated once which is impressive. I am selling the car, so no idea how much longer they will last, but until spring wouldn't be unreasonable. A bit more expensive, but worth it in my opinion.

Given 86% while driving a SEAT 1.4 TSI (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 25,000 average miles
I purchased a set in 2020 for my Seat Leon. The tires were fitted in April and I was surprised at how good the dry handling and breaking were, compared to the previous all season tires I have used (Nokian Weatherproof and Vredestine Quatrac). Wet handing is fairly predictable, with some oversteer but easy to correct. Where these tires excel is in their snow performance. I live in a village that can only be reached by two roads (that are both hills). I was able to drive the car up the steepest of the 2 hills (with some wheel spin), which was a surprise. The ice performance is slightly weaker but you can’t have it all! The other bonus is that the tires performed just as well in deep snow earlier this year, even though they were down to 3mm. Excellent fuel economy and a strong and dependable tire in all conditions. Have already purchased a set for my new car and they are being fitted today. I would highly recommend this tire.

Given 89% while driving a Volkswagen Golf (195/65 R15) on mostly motorways for 35,000 average miles
A great tire both in dry and wet conditions. Excellent breaking performance in dry, with a predictable understeer in the wet. Center feel and feedback were poor first 5000 miles, but improved drastically.
Even though I live in the Alps we rarely get much snow in recent 20 years. Maybe I've had 5 days of snow in last two years. Never experienced any problems with traction or breaking performance. Handling was ok.
The only major downside: Summer temperatures of above 35°C negatively affected the rubber compound which became hard, negatively affecting the wet grip. Performance in dry is stil great.

The tires currently sit at 35.000 miles in exactly 2 years.
tread depth front: 5.0 mm
tread depth rear: 5.0 mm

Stunning tire. Safe under all conditions. Better than my old winter tires in winter. As good as summer tires. Best wear of any tire on this car so far. Absolute recommendation.

Given 90% while driving a Jaguar F Pace R Dynamic P400 (255/50 R20) on mostly motorways for 10 miles
These tires are amazing on ice, snow and wet roads. They also perform well on dry roads, but I bought them for my wife because the factory "all-season" tires on her 2021 Jaguar F-Pace R-Dynamic P400 were terrible on ice and snow. The difference was day & night when they were installed in December of last year in the midst of weekly blizzards and freezing rain in Minnesota. She drives the F-Pace 50 miles to work 2 days per week on a mix of back roads and 4-lane, so needed a tire with dependable winter performance.

Smooth driving. Handles great on dry, wet, or snow conditions. Relatively low rolling friction. Looks like a noisy tire, but it is not.

Given 92% while driving a Skoda (235/55 R18) on a combination of roads for 10,000 spirited miles
These tire are fitted to the Ambulance Officer Response vehicle that I use at work. They are therefore asked to deal with a driving style that is completely different to most other users. They need to keep me and other road users safe whilst responding to medical emergencies on a wide variety of roads and weather conditions. These tires are fantastic in all conditions and that includes cold and wet, which are conditions that appears to be reviewed as a weak point by some reviewers. I would very much disagree with them as my experience is that if driving appropriately to the conditions these tires along with the smart 4WD system of Skoda allows a huge amount of control and confidence when driving on slippery roads. In the 5 years that I have had this car to drive I have not felt it reach the limit of grip once. It is worth saying that the car is heavy, with the amount of equipment we have to carry so this may help with the tires gripping. I have just got 4 of these fitted to my own Nissan X-trail T31 (2012) so will review them on this vehicle shortly. I can't recommend them enough. It is worth noting that, due to the nature of emergency driving, the tires are change every 20,000 miles, so this life span is not representative of normal use.
