Nexen N Fera SU1 Reviews - Page 9

Given 37% while driving a Holden adventra (225/45 R17) on mostly motorways for 1,000 spirited miles
These tires were new on a SUV before I started a 1500 kms trip.
3 days later I am at trip's end and am looking to replace them.
On a good road surface they are smooth.
On an older road surface they are harsh.
They do not communicate their responses to steering input very well.
I am prepared to write off the cost of 4 new tires rather than try and wear them out.

Given 94% while driving a Audi A8L Quattro (235/55 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 3,000 average miles
I always replace tires in sets of 4 due to Quattro and these are batter than any other tires I have had some of which were nearly 3x the price. The wet grip is amazing. There is no way to unstick it even when trying to to test them. The SU1s are also very quiet and confortable. The new tread was only 7mm deep, other tires I have had were 8mm. They are also 5mm deep on the deepest part of the outside blocks when new. They didn't take much weight to balance.

Given 51% while driving a Kia Motors ceed (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 10,000 spirited miles

Given 93% while driving a Mercedes Benz SLK (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 6,000 spirited miles

Given 50% while driving a BMW 325d M Sport (255/35 R19 W) on a combination of roads for 3,000 spirited miles
Replaced Dunlop Sport Max RT for these on the rear which were brilliant tires. Not a good choice. Basically the rear became slightly unstable at higher speeds, but were fine normal to slightly spirited driving. However when it rains these tires are not good. Basically putting my foot down or partially down around corners in the wet and these tires DO NOT grip in the wet very well. On a few occassions this has caught me out by suprise and I thought I would crash. Good price but if you have 200 BHP going through the rear wheels then I would not recommend these tires - your life depends on having tires that perform well in the wet. and I can only compare these Nexens to the previous brand of tire I had

Given 58% while driving a Toyota Avensis (205/45 R17 V) on a combination of roads for 200 average miles
I've used this tires for 2months. Yes, they are comfortable tires, with acceptable traction on dry road, but the most important thing is they are absolutely terrible on wet. My car is not powerful (130hp FWD), but boy, even the medium dynamic starts on a little damp road ended front wheel's spinning. Cornering on dry is acceptable, but tires are too soft what really impede in fast cornering beacause car gets oversteer. I do not recommend this tires, in my opinion they are only acceptable on dry, but really poor in wet. I had to buy another tires

Given 51% while driving a Kia Motors (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 10,000 spirited miles
My car came fitted with these from new. A previous Kia had a previous generation of Nexen. They were quite poor, but these are acceptable.

Dry grip isn't bad, cornering is better than braking but it's a safe dry tire.
Wet grip is less reassuring, not too sure footed in the wet and quite eager to light the traction control light.
Feedback and feel is acceptable in the dry but doesn't encourage you to drive in a sporty fashion. When pushing harder they do give warning before breaking away, but don't step back into line as soon as some tires I've driven.

I had these on the car for approx 10,000 miles and they have 5-6mm left. They are quite hard tires but don't absorb larger bumps too well. They unsettle car car on bumpy corners. The road noise is medium and not too bad really.

I'd not buy these as a replacement. True, I've paid twice as much for Michelins, but so far, they are proving to be far superior in every way.

The Nexens are rated A for wet grip and 71db. I'd dispute the wet grip rating having driven A grade Michelins.

Had those tires for over 6000 km and so far i been very impressed with them, dry, wet grip is very good especially for the price. Low noise even with the roof down. Even when pushing the car the tires coop well.
I will definitely buy them again.

I have a new go-to tire! I bought these to replace the mixed set of ditch finders that were on my car when I bought it. The tires genuinely transformed the car! I will stick wit these on my cars from now on.

I put 2 on rear wheels of my e60 bmw 5series, these replaced a leading brand and they are fantastic all round tire i was recommended these by a friend who uses them for track days on his tuned jap rwd cars. Fantastic everyday car for comfort when cruising to when you decide to show up some tadger in a crap boy racer car 😂
I am just about to buy 2 for the front as my car came with Haida tires on the front which are the most dangerous crap tires known to man

Front size 245/35/19
Rear size 275/30/19
