Neuton NT5000 Reviews - Page 3

Given 99% while driving a MINI Cooper S Works (205/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 3,000 spirited miles
A massive improvement from the crap-flats. These Neuton NT5000 are superb and great value for money. They offer you positive feedback, great dry and wet grip. I had a front alignment and the correct pressure put in (30PSI) whilst fitting them which is advised to do. And I can report that there has been even wear across the Tires as intended. Very little tread has been lost in the 3000 plus miles that I have done so far. And I do very spirited driving. Going to buy these again.

Given 86% while driving a Audi A4 1.8T Quattro (235/45 R17 W) on mostly town for 2,000 average miles
I bought these to replace the horrible Dunlop SP Sports that were fitted as OEM to the car. Those tires did not stand up well to Asian potholes and monsoon weather in Manila.

These tires cost about half the price as those Dunlops, and had a similar tread block pattern to the Dunlops. So far, the grip is good, and I've been able to endure semi-rough roads (crenellated concerete) without any tire damage. I even had an experience with a tire briefly run flat (less than a kilometer) without damage to the sidewall.

The tires have good dry and wet grip, and are reasonable quiet, but not as quiet as Yokohama C-Drives I fit on a Mazda 3 with 17 inch wheels. The ride again is reasonable, firm but planted, with a little more give than the old Dunlops.

I say that for the price, the performance of these tires is quite good.

Given 84% while driving a Ford Mondeo Titanium X (235/40 R18 W) on a combination of roads for 2,000 spirited miles
I tried these after reading reviews on here. I can only agree with whats been said. Great tires, great value.
Tram-lining was a big problem with the standard Conti's. Now not a problem and its a much more pleasant car to drive.
Would definitely recommend and buy again. Very pleased.

Given 73% while driving a Volvo 850 Saloon (205/50 R16) on a combination of roads for 21,700 average miles
I've been using on my Volvo 850 for almost 2 years. Good road holding, comfortable, less noise. I really love it except the shoulder part worn off so fast even the center part still around 5mm. Recently I changed to Falken ZE522 made in Indonesia. Just to try...

Given 96% while driving a Saab Automobile 9 5 Aero Saloon (235/45 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 22 spirited miles
I ran a set on my Saab 9-5 Aero after finding the premium brands lasted for on average 12,000 miles of spirited driving, I had tried the well known premium tires all about the same.
The Neuton was a departure for me as I had always tried to buy good tires and was nervous of how these would do.
Simply put. These are fantastic, dry grip was a match for the best (most expensive) and wet grip was in the realms of having to be doing silly speeds to provoke a nasty response!
They rode amazingly well very compliant for an XL tire and were far quieter than the tires I had previously tried.
I think these are fantastic and found that they are made by a very well known tire company. I would happily buy them again and did so for my wige's GTi and again they were superb.
The tires gave me 22,000 miles of service quite outstanding for the price. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a premium budget tire.

Given 90% while driving a Peugeot 407 sw (215/55 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 28,175 spirited miles
purchased a set of 4 tyyes and they have done over 28,000 miles, not down to mimimum yet but with winter coming have changed, compared to the pirelli p7 which cost £160 each these nt5000 have outperformed and outlasted the P7 in every way. Will never go back!

Given 71% while driving a Mitsubishi Proton Satria GTI (4G63T) (205/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 5,000 spirited miles
My car is a Proton but the engine has been swapped to 4G63T from Mitsubishi Evo 3.. It has 260hp with more than 300nm of torque. Initial performance for the first 3000 miles was impressive on dry and wet surface. Beyond the mark it got worse.
The most noticed flaw is the treadwear on the shoulder. Since I love taking corner with high speed, the outer side wore out very quickly and the thread there isn't thick. One day I was speeding about 130kmh on a rainy day, and when I stepped on the brake, the front locked up easily and just sliding ahead.
For the noise and comfort, it did pretty well. It's a great tire but it gives up when it's worn out. For spirited driving, it will serve you well but remember to replace it even before the thread hits the indicators..

Given 50% while driving a Vauxhall Vectra (245/30 R20) on a combination of roads for 10,000 average miles
My initial impressions were that this was an excellent tire. Then it started to wear and the grip became dangerous in the wet (still with 6mm left). They needed constant rebalancing and after 10000 miles one of the tires was out of shape (im aware of at least one other peson who has had similar). It looked like the tire was trying to come off the rim.

I would no longer recommend these tires and would recommend Nokians or Falkens instead.

Given 90% while driving a Volkswagen Passat TFSI 2.0 Sport (200bhp) (235/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 9,000 spirited miles
Before:
"Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3"
- 3 years / 40000 miles (on my old Passat)
Expensive tire, cost me £90 - £100.
On Wet road - excellent!!!
For sporty driving - the best of the bests!
Short lifetime - 6000-9000 miles only...:(

Now:
"Neuton NT5000"
- 2 years / 40000 miles (on my current Passat)
Middle priced tire, cost me £66.36 only.
On Wet road - Very good!
For sporty driving - Very good!
Average (not bad) lifetime - 12000-14000 miles

My plan is to try NT8000 soon.
If not,
NT5000 is still a very good value budget tire,
enough safe, fast, stabil (above average) tire for all (and sport) cars.
