Vredestein Sportrac 5 Reviews - Page 7

Given 77% while driving a Skoda Octavia vRS (205/55 R16 V) on mostly country roads for 3,000 spirited miles
To replace all four tires at a reasonable cost replacing my worn out but impressive Michelin PS2's I thought was going to be impossible to match performance. Reading reviews on this website changed that when fitted Sport Trac 5's, they didn't match the Michelins but surpassed them. On dry surfaces a major improvement not just in grip but vehicle handling, on wet where the PS2's were outstanding the Sport trac's matched. They look similar to the Michelins but with firmer construction, a little bit harsher ride over bumps and road noise on cornering but other wise quiet runners. A steel at £71 a corner for the performance and quality with improved handling and braking.

Very suprised at just how well these tires preformed, The first thing i noticed was that they were much quiter that the goodyears that were on before them. The grip they offer in both wet and dry is as good as any top brand tire I have ever used. I have done 25K driving on these tires (50% B-Road 40% A-Road and 10% moterway) and expect to nearly get 30K KM from them. I will def fit these tires again and highly recommend them.

Having been very impressed by my winter tires - Vredestein Snowtrac 3,I decided to have Vredestein Sportrac 5 for summer tires. My first impression was that they are very quiet and give a feeling of great stability and confidence. The first big test happened when I came round a blind corner at a fair speed, in the wet,and found a sheep and her two lambs standing in the middle of the road. A big emergency stop on a wet road with a bit of lock on the steering ensued. The car doesn't have ABS but it was not necessary. No wheels locked, it stopped beautifully.
I have just returned from a 2000 mile trip in Southern Ireland- plenty of work for tires and suspension. Irish roads in general are not nearly as good as UK roads but there are occasional stretches of broad empty highway. On these good bits of road I had a fine time trying the tires to their limits but discovered it was almost impossible within the limits of sane driving to get the back end to move much at all. I had to stop this fine game when my passenger complained of me "hurtling through the corners". These tires are amazingly grippy.
So, very good in the wet, very good in the dry and nice and quiet. As for wear, well there are no signs of wear yet. Having spent nearly £550 on a set of winter and a set of summer tires I expect not to have to buy any more tires for two or three years and I am very pleased to have chosen Vredesteins. I can recommend them, especially if you like an occasional hurtle!

Car was on original Bridgestone Turanza ER30,never impressed by them, alot of bump thump and very noisy. Fitting the Vredestein Sporttrac 5 (from your reviews) have only done 1200 miles but the immediate difference was amazing, much reduced bump thump the car has gone quiet except I can now hear everything else thats going on !The handling has improved so much and a much nicer drive alround. The mileage does include a hard run to Devon and back, an excellent result and on current evidence would buy again, have to wait and see how the wear factor turns out.

Superb tires recommended - go get Vredestein you won't be disappointed.

Better than Continental Sportcontact 2 and Michelin Primacy HP in terms of grip, feedback, wet weather performance and comfort/quietness. Both models of tire I have had previously. Seriously good grip, quiet and look good too. Recommended.

Excellent tire!!! Wet or dry it doesn't matters! The car (opel vectra sedan) responds rapidly and turns like a train even in high speed (70-90 miles).

Very quiet on the highway and very comfortable on the roads in the city (many wholes!!!).

Giuzaro helped a lot with this tire!!

If there's nothing better (?) in the future i'd buy it again!!

Given 100% while driving a Toyota Auris (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 7,000 spirited miles
The perfect tire in my opinion. I have try Michelin, Bridgestone, Pirelli, Continental and Uniroyal tires but these ones are far away the best in all ways so far.
1) they have unbelievable grip so in dry as in wet road.
2) they are very silent.
3) i have seen my fuel consumption decreasing.
4) they are as comfort as i need them.
5) they gave a very sport feeling in corners to my car, because of the hard sidewalls.
6) good wear so far.
Finally they are made in The Netherlands and wherever you will buy them they have mark unlike some other firms that they supposed to be German or Italian and in fact they are made in Hungary, Czech, Turkey, Thailand, etc. (No one can make me believe that one tire for example Continental that is made in Czech has the same quality with the one that is made in Germany)
I would definitely buy them again!
