Continental EcoContact 6 Reviews - Page 2

Given 59% while driving a Mercedes Benz EQB 300 (235/50 R19) on mostly town for 11,200 easy going miles
The EcoContact 6 are the original tires came with our 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB 300.

Nice tires for all around daily usage, quiet and comfort.

Unfortunately, tires must be replaced after 18 months and 18000km of home-school-supermarket usage.

Not recommended for extremely poor mileage.

Given 42% while driving a Nissan Qashqai (235/50 R19) on mostly town for 4,600 easy going miles
Hi everyone, firstly I'm 68, I want mpg not mph. Im telling you the whole truth here, no lies, its not my style to lie. In March I bought a new Qashqai epower, it came with Continental eco6 on as standard tires. First impression, only 6.4mm of tread brand new, are they serious? Surely they'll wear quicker than an 8mm treaded tire,,,,yep, they have. Listen, I drive with the lightest foot going, I'm getting over 55mpg over the period I got it (1st March 2024) it's done 4628 miles now. I just checked my front tire tread depth,,,4.7mm, I swear, I couldn't believe it. Back are 5.4mm.
So, mpg is brilliant, tire wear is diabolical on the heavier epower qashqai. Dry handling is ok but wet handling isn't, it'll move sideways on wet corners, it's a bit scary.
Noise level is very good inside the car.
I'm going to change these soon, before Winter, I live in Aberdeen, it's cold in Winter, I can't trust these things. Looking at : Goodyear 4 seasons Gen3 , hopefully with 8mm of tread on.
I'd never recommend these Conti Eco6 to anyone, Continental are taking the proverbial with only 6.4mm of tread from new.
Steve.

Given 39% while driving a BMW 218i (205/55 R17) on mostly country roads for 500 average miles
NB the new tread depth on these is only 6.5 mm - (the normal is 8-9MM). In my case after less than 500 gentle miles all 4 tires were down to 4.2mm after 3 months ie 47% worn having already lost 35% of potential wear. I also had a bulge without hitting any kerb or pothole. Continental told me they were designed that way and would save me fuel-MOT requires 3 mm of tread. avoid like the plague is my advice.

Given 50% while driving a BMW X1 23d Xdrive (245/40 R20) on a combination of roads for 0 average miles
Have these fitted from stock on BMW x1 and after travelling 15700 miles/ 19 months the front are down to 2mm and back 4mm. They grip but rain and wet found them lacking and will be changing all 4 this week as a result. Deeply disappointed in them and why fitted from factory I will never understand but that’s what they used. I am in my 50’s and don’t race or power the car hard so I hope this honest appraisal of theses tires makes buyer aware and look a little closer at alternatives as I am having to do this now.

Given 87% while driving a Suzuki SX4 Scross 1.4T Boosterjet (215/55 R17) on a combination of roads for 6,000 spirited miles
These tires came on my new Suzuki S-Cross (AWD.) I was very happy with them until I tore the sidewall on one of them after 10k km. They are great on asphalt, and very quiet; I drive fast and aggressively and they never let me down, no slipping, no aquaplaning, nothing negative to comment. However, they are not good if you habitually drive on gravel or any terrain with slightly sharper stones. Since I do that very often, I'm now getting five AT tires which will hopefully last much longer (though fuel consumption and noise will be much worse than with the Conti's).

Given 76% while driving a MINI MINI COUNTRYMAN S ALL4 (225/45 R19) on a combination of roads for 300 spirited miles
This tire is Eco Contact 6 SSR BMW labelled which is OE tire for MINI countryman cooper S ALL 4 sell in China.
According to my oberservation, the treadwear is 440 and the traction is AA which is different to the non brand-labelled tire or other brand proved tire.BMW or MINI may customize of this tire with Continental and improved the traction, handling and reduced wear.

This tire has good handling in urban and mountain tarmac in Beijing. The support in curves is good and not easy to make some noise to remind driver so this tire can support the spirited driving although it is not belongs to the sports tire at all.I think the Premium Contact 6 is placed at higher level than this.

I gave the lower mark on noise. This runflat tire is likely to produce more noise than others like PZ4 RSC for BMW X5 21 inch wheel.(The countryman has poorer level of NVH)

I may buy the UHP non-runflat tire for Countryman to increase its sportiness and reduce the rolling noise.

Given 36% while driving a Mercedes Benz E Class (275/35 R20) on a combination of roads for 1,200 spirited miles
By far the worst tire I drove in the last 10 years.
Noise and ride comfort are all right.
Grip in dry is ok if you take it slow but as soon as you speed up in corners, the tire struggles to keep you on the road.
Wet grip and wet breaking are the worst I’ve ever experienced in my life. At first I could not believe the car would drift sideways that easy at normal acceleration on a wet road, figured that that part of tarmac must have been greasy or something. Then tried the same on 4-5 diferent places and realized just how bad and dangerous this tire is.
Wet breaking - ABS kicking in on maximum breaking at 30 km/h !?!
After driving it on 3 different occasions / days on wet roads, decided to get rid of the tire after only 2.000 km I drove it.
I cannot believe such a terrible and dangerous tire is used as an OEM and delivered as a first set you get on the car which costs over 100.000 €.
I understand it reduces CO2, but safety must be more important that CO2.
Absolutely terrible.

Given 100% while driving a BMW 318 coupe (205/55 R16) on for 260,000 miles
I am extremely pleased with the tires. Especially, you feel the full quality with its superior handling and quiet driving performance. It provides excellent balance even at high speeds and increases steering control. While the rubber compound of the tires ensures long-lasting use, it also contributes to fuel economy thanks to its low rolling resistance. Overall, these tires were an ideal choice for me for a safe and comfortable driving experience. I will also change my winter tires to Continental.

Given 40% while driving a Audi Audi A3 8V FL E TRON (225/45 R17) on mostly town for 20,000 average miles
I'm so happy, because I'm finally replacing these tires. When new, the tread depth was 6.5mm, after wear and use. Only 3mm left.
Really awful when it comes to wet driving and quite noisy. In dry they were just ok. I wouldn't recommend them at all, but most new cars came with these as oem.
Sometimes makes me think, that cheap chinese tires would be better or same as good.

Replacing these tires after 48.000 km and still 3.5 mm tread by Michelins. Had two punctures and found contiseal technology quite useful.

Given 21% while driving a Peugeot 2008 (2021) (215/60 R17) on a combination of roads for 18,000 easy going miles
Terrible tires, designed for rolling resistance and scrimped on all the other qualities, only 6.4 mm tread when new sidewalls very flimsy and full of dents, and mine only lasted 20 months of steady driving 18000 mls, definitely not worth what they cost, unfortunately they come as factory fit on a lot of cars and I was one of the unfortunate ones that ended up with them

Given 33% while driving a Peugeot 2008 (2021) (215/60 R17) on a combination of roads for 18,000 easy going miles
They were factory fitted from new on my peugeot 2008, only lasted 20 months of steady driving 18000 mls all 4 of them had to fork out for 4 new ones which I,ve never had to before with Michelin and Goodyear tires, also sidewalls are very flimsy and full of dents, when I first saw my car I could have cried, they looked like oversized balloons peugeot shouldn't be spoiling a great car like the new 2008 by putting that Continental eco 6Q crap on them, bet not many people buy them as replacements, they look like part worn tires when they are new hardly any Tread on them and they tell you all that special compound crap and green chilli saying they last longer with better mileage well it's all lies, I went for Goodyear vector gen 3 all season, totally transformed my car in every respect, Avoid like a Rash.
