Having Assy 5 before, there were no surprises with 6. As echoed in other reviews, a very predictable, grippy and comfortable tire. Safety is paramount for me and these tires feel very safe.

Our Assy 5 covered approx 17,000m before down to 2mm so am hoping for slightly improved mileage with 6.

Assy 6 very sticky, have picked up debris and got stuck between disc and caliper creating loud screeching sound (quick fix and maybe just unlucky).

I also appreciate the value for money with Goodyear which often gets ignored in reviews. For my tire size Michelin PS5 were in region of £170 each and rarely seen on offer, Assy 6 on offer £126 each and arguably equal in performance depending on metric.

This is an initial impression of the tire as I am finally happy to obtain these tires especially when switching from 16 inch wheels to 19 inch wheels so this should provide an excellent take. With reading some reviews about PS4S having marginal to no differences to PS4 I opted out for PS4S BMW star spec for improved subjective feel as I found regular PS4 lack in feedback under load and inert feel at yaw changes. Dry grip was exhilirating as hell. I am under impression this is a semi-slick tire with more tread! It bites onto the tarmac harder than PS4 ever could which is also heavily influenced by 255 width vs 205 width. Braking feels like having swapped 2 piston calipers with 6 piston calipers which felt similar with the way PS4 was but this tire transmits you every little detail of what you do with the car on the road leading it to inclusive fun as well as having the advantage of a wide tire. Wet wasn't as bad as I had expected, barely any slip unless really hooning it but that is mainly due to lack of heat during the single rainy day however it has so much stick I never felt nervous even when braking. I expected wet braking to be bad but it wasn't, only slightly worse than PS4! Handling is definitely the best I had experienced! It's all I ever seeked of and it really DOES feel like a SEMI-SLICK. While PS4 reduced body roll moderately the PS4S * reduced body roll significantly. It fears no corners at any speeds. The most flat experience I ever had in a car as it has no roll like a go-kart, completely surprised me and it feels so tight on the road. Dry handling is full neutral and can rotate to oversteer if you over-rev and break the balancing in corners. You're never reaching the limits of this tire in the streets ever. It killed the nose heaviness Audis are known for - push to understeer at adhesion is absolutely eliminated and rotates without hesitation whereas PS4 near the limit liked to push the understeer from neutral handling. Wet handling was neutral to oversteer but I hope to experience wet performance more. It was a lot more fun to throw my car around the wet roads but I believe PS4 is better in this field as the oversteer was a lot more controlled and allowed to mash the throttle at wet roads without any slip. Road feedback...like what the hell this is the best tire for it ever! The only tire that ever got a 10 from me. Previous highly scored tires in this category are PS4 and Blizzak DMV2 on another car which got an 8 and the current winter tires WinterContact TS870 P would get only a 7 much like Turanza T001 instead of a 5 this time around. This has all of it! It is so heavy even when variable steering overboosts the assist at low speeds it feels great and makes it fun to drive. On lower levels of assist it feels as heavy as or heavier than the steering I tried on E90 BMW 3 series. The inputs are sharp but quite progressive so it doesn't feel too darty but enough to drive like a maniac. You feel the road perfectly - all that force feedback, yaw changes, braking, slip angle, load up etc. The stiffening of the compound and strenghtening of the sidewalls is a definitive plus for this tire and vastly improved something that was missing in the regular PS4! Regular PS4 had decent heft but it was so lackadaisical it wasn't always fun to drive even if it inspired you to drive spirited. They simply were plagued by the sidewalls and only under limit they felt blissful. This tire massively begs to be pushed and communicates with the driver like no other, it gets me excited! It truly complements my upgraded sport suspension as if they were made for these tires. Can't comment on wear yet but comfort surprised me. For such a chatty tire, feeling so tight and heavy on the steering and with sheer amounts of grip it is shockingly comfortable. Noise is pretty low, I personally felt that regular PS4 tires were a little louder. Rides and drives smooth rounding up the bumps quite well for a 19 inch tire. I really expected worse from this profile of the tire but it does feel due to compound of the BMW star spec tire like you would have highly uprated springs on your car. I suspect PS4 on 19 inch feels exactly the same or similar but without the tight feel because I barely noticed any differences so no issues with comfort even on a wild tire like this! Overall this is the best tire I have ever owned and having the star spec allows it to be on its own level. This is the real deal it feels like a semi-slick even more than regular PS4. I rated it quite low than expected before so regular PS4 tire would get somewhere nearly a 9 from me this time around as it really was a fun tire with tremendous grip especially in the wet but it lacked ultimate handling and feedback due to their touring level sidewalls. This one is a perfect 100% for the time being as it deals with all the tasks and commands I throw at it. It eats the roads like no tire ever and the dynamics of it improved my car to levels I have never thought they were possible. BMW definitely knows how to tune their stuff. Came in with a moderate expectations ended up being highly optimistic. This will be educational for me to find out how they will last over long term because I really see no competition that can beat this tire. It really is a tire that has all-in-one deal and although I want to try other tires, ultimately Michelin has been consistently the best brand for me. Can't wait to find out how mindblowing the PS5S are going to be in the near future.

Excellent tire for dry or rainy weather, very reliable, low wear, average fuel consumption. Very cheap in terms of quality / price. But.... there is also a downside to this tire and that is the side wall .... Two tires were replaced due to a tear on the side wall. First time on a pebble in the middle of the road, quite small Another time on a piece of concrete hidden in the grass next to the road when parking. Very soft side wall like a spider's web

This is a quick review to help out some folk to buy these tires. My plan before was to buy 860S however the new model intrigued me but I'd say that 860S may in fact be better in terms of subjective feel. Dry grip wasn't half bad, definitely could launch the car hard in the dry however at around 8C or more after prolonged driving session it does start to drop off so I assume it may perform even better in fairly cold weather. Braking in the dry could be better as my previous TS860 tires did better in dry braking. Handling had bit understeer in the dry but nothing that made the drive boring. Wet was where it was king and will be even better once it is broken in. Superb braking, handling and grip on the level of my summer Pilot Sport 4 tires. I would say that it had slight tendency to oversteer, it did feel very sharp in the wet. Comfort was also on the same level as my TS860 but the best part was that it didn't feel floaty and neutered which made me hate WinterContact TS860. TS860 imitated smoothness by isolating the driver from all the feedback of brake actuation, feel of acceleration and the chassis to extent which made the driving jerky and boring, these however did not need to compromise and retain exact comfort and smoothness. Can't comment on snow and ice as we didn't have any here and in Baltic States. We have less snow for the past 5 years so I'll rate them based on tests. My real only complaint with this tire is road feedback. Turn in is just as slow as it was with WinterContact TS860 although the stiffer construction makes it feel less laggy in comparison. Still surprised that with a stiffer construction they didn't perform how I expected because for now I find rear wheels quite disconnected from the chassis, they simply feel strange for instance it is slow to turn at first few degrees then suddenly the tire progressively corners swiftly the next which is fun but not something I prefer, I rather have sharp quick turn in that is predictable. In the dry you do not feel anything on a smooth road. Irregular roads give some of the feedback but you can tell the middle of the tire is quite disconnected, rides on the sidewalls a lot more. Wet feedback again just like its grip and handling is on top however these shortcomings most likely due to being fresh and new as well as weather still being not optimal for winter tires but the fears I had for WinterContact tires came true. There is no reason to make an UHP winter tire numb and disconnected. I really feel like my power steering was broken because the steering is super soft and no longer heavy like I had with my summers. Dare I say worse feedback than with TS860 although at least it doesn't look like it is underinflated. WinterContact TS860 had this bulge on the sidewall which always made me feel like the tires are underinflated, this tire has only a minimal amount. Not all winter tires are like this, I had driven other cars that had winter tires and they didn't feel as bad. I'll miss the summer tire feel TS860 brought though but it's not an issue, I can live with it. I'd shortlist these tires and look for something else as subjectively they do not feel sporty. It's more like a souped-up touring tire. I'd choose Blizzaks and UltraGrip Performance+ for true sporty feel but time will tell because I do think in the cold and after some miles this tire will surprise me.

At first i was very impressed with the design and the similarities between Michelin PS4 and PS91. Dry grip was very good but that s the only good thing about this tire. Sidewall - the stiffness is incredible, you can barely fit them on the rims. Confort - it laks confort, you can feel every bump, big or small, terrible. After 2 years of moderate use 8000k km each summer visible cracks between treads appeared, with is very dangerous thing. On wet they are very slippery, i lost control a couple of times. So then i went for Michelin PS4 and Vredestein Ultrac Vorti which i think is the best tire i had ever had on my Audi A6

Would have got 225/50/16 variant but couldn't find it however I really have wanted this tire model because I have heard many praises and they have blown my mind away. Pilot Sport 4 has tremendous grip in both dry and wet and has eliminated understeer by a ton which really surprised me as on ocassion I manage to oversteer it but still neutral handling along with my brembo brake pads it made the car stop much faster which means you have to make sure in emergency situations that you do not get rear-ended since braking power is immense. Nonetheless these tires suit heavier cars such as my nearly 2 ton car due to the way the setup feels. Prefers high pressure as the sidewalls are in my opinion slightly pliable - needs stiffness which in turn = higher PSI however switching to Bilstein B6 dampers I could reduce the pressures a little bit to gain more grip while retaining handling. Must be obligatory to run between 35-40 PSI! Quiet, confidence inspiring and aggressive. AWD cars already put power on hard and these tires definitely liven up the car in any conditions. Best in its class but sadly whilst giving slightly better steering feel and more precision in yaw changes I feel like it robbed some of that road feedback so you have to keep guessing where the wheels are but it still feels like the grip is infinite which is fantastic! Surprised the wear is decent despite tons of spirited driving I still have 4mm of tread left however I can feel it progressively losing wet grip and slight tramlining may appear on some road conditions but progression in this tire has been the main topic. Comfort is so-so although in the beginning it was fairly harsh but overtime in the break-in period the tire just glides whilst sticking on the road like glue; the low rolling resistance is sublime and feels reasonably comfortable, you wouldn't guess it was a performance tire until you wring out its legs. I'll be upgrading my wheels to 19 inches next year and will be buying these again however in PS4s version as the road feedback would definitely make this tire utterly compete with semi-slicks despite it already being near that level or Re71rs for more precision.
