Chevrolet Corvette Tire Review Highlights

Writing about the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S given 52% (225-45-17-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 10000 spirited miles
I have OEM Michelin Run Flats Sport Cup 4S on my Corvette C8. Regular driving these are fine. They are DANGEROUS for track use though. These tires are UNSAFE and have batch defects in my opinion and people should be informed before someone gets hurt. I followed Chevrolet's track prep guide for the car (that says this tire can be sued on track). I have been on tracks for 15 years and have never had tires delaminate like these and fall apart after 1 session of a track day. I called Michelin and there customer service tech said it wasn't a defect or covered. He pretty much said it was my fault and never even made the time to look at the images I had. Michelin did not stand behind their product. I will NEVER buy a Michelin tire again. Sad.

Driving on track for 3500 spirited miles
2 Track days later, they still had plenty of life left. The grip doesnt go down with each lap, Fairly comfortable and no noise on street driving. High confidence in turns and really good braking feedback. I compared these back to back with my M2C on Ad08r and these had better cornering capabilities.

Driving on mostly town for 1000 spirited miles
I am limited as to what tires I can buy due to size. These tires replaced my ancient BFG KD ( not KDws) and They feel a little less secure in handling, but considering what I have to choose from, they are great.

these tires are so much better than my previous michelins as they have stiffer sidewalls that don't squirm during sprited corneing.

Driving on a combination of roads for 10000 spirited miles
The Continental ExtremeContact Sports are a great tire if you want something that will give you about great road feel, highway drive ability, and wear that won't cause you to look twice and the manufacture date code. I should note that I do not do track driving, just long distance drives and canyon carving. Its a great tire that holds its own to the MPSS without the cost. I am not an expert driver, so most things I have thrown at these tires have been shrugged off. Even at the limit, the tires break gradually and allowed me to keep the car under control. I have had my current set of tires for just under 2 years now and I am going to need replacements soon (5k miles /year). Even though there is actually a decent amount of tread left, it looks like the rubber might be near the end of its number of heat cycles. I did not think I would get to this point with a summer tire that can do some rain driving as well, so I am def pleased with them. Are there better tires out there? Of course, but for a tire that's going to be used for off track driving, its a fantastic choice if you don't want to drop the cash for some Michelins (especially if you know you aren't really going to max them out anyways).
