Ford Explorer Tire Review Highlights

Just 10 000km, comfortable and predictable tires. You can easily feel what they are doing. But overall they causes to much understeering, on dry surface it starts squeek in corners surprisingly soon, but it squeeks much sooner than it slips, braking is average/below average. On wet surface it´s another story, braking is apalling, but cornering, it´s disaster. Try to corner in speeds in or below traffic flow? No, you gonna go just straight forward.

Well they have no homologation for winter use in Europe so after they will come of the car this fall, there is no possible comeback for them next spring.

Driving on a combination of roads for 60 spirited miles
A good tire and lasted me nearly 60,000 miles. When the treads did get uneven around 60k, the tires did get very loud and almost unbearable. Felt there was some tire tread left but had to replace due to the noise, far too annoying. Overall, it was a pretty good tire, in my opinion, and for most of their life, ran quiet. Could be softer on bumpy roads, drive firm on less than smooth roads. Would buy again at the right price.

Driving on a combination of roads for 100 spirited miles
Bought on Costco recommendation when they didn't have Michelin Latitude Tour HPs. I've put approximately 70 miles with 50/20mi mix of highway to secondary, curvy roads. The tire is as quiet as the Michelin and seems to grip the road better in the curves in hot dry conditions. Initial impression is good.

I have had 4 sets of these on 2 Ford Explorers. Quite frankly I can't fault them. After several other types on other 4x4's I wish I had chosen these in the first place! Wear rates are excellent 20 to 25k per set. On Tarmac they are quiet and have great grip in he dry and wet. As for snow I take this to the Alps regularly, no they arn't listed as snow tires but they are more than adequate. Especially if you don't want the added road noise of snow tires for the hundreds of miles on the motorway before you see snow! If you use your 4x4 for mainly road use these tires are for you, go off road and they will get you back on it! Expensive but
