Holden Ute SS Tire Review Highlights

Writing about the Achilles ATR Sport 2 given 83% (275-35-19-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 1000 spirited miles
Bought these again for the ute which is cammed, otr, exhaust, higgins heads, 3.9 diff gears with 387rwkw with staggered Simmons.... Of course any V8 will light these bad boys up but i paid AUD$90 each and they are awesome in the dry. Any car putting out big power will drift easy in the wet. Nice and quiet and much better than the Federal 595's they replaced. Read comments that some people have bad handing in wet, maybe slow down. Also comments of poor wear and noise. Maybe its the tire mob who fit them because mine are awesome. Happily buy again.

Driving on mostly motorways for 25 spirited miles
Had these tires on my ve commodore ute, for approximatly 50km
Were by far the worst tires I have ever used. Drove straight back
to the tire shop and replaced them. My rear end at speed was swaying
like an overloaded tray back ute.

Writing about the Kenda KAISER KR20 given 27% (235-45-17-)
Driving on mostly country roads for 4 spirited miles
These replaced Hankooks which had good and pregressive wet grip and were put on by the garage as an "equal." They are not. In the dry, they are not too bad but it is too easy move the back end (without trying.) I have been avoiding using the car in the wet (prefering to drive a Fiat Doblo diesel which says it all,) as grip is so-so in a straight line and lateral grip is non-existant. The back steps out no matter how careful you are and, if the back goes too fast, the front will break too - which just never happens on this car. Only 4,000 miles but they will be dumped. Dangerous rubbish.
