Driving on mostly motorways for 40 easy going miles
I used these Nexen tires (215/45) on my 2019 Mazda 3. I have a balanced driving style—I don’t speed or take sharp turns often. Most of my driving is on motorways and average roads, with the occasional pothole.

After driving 40,000–50,000 miles on my front tires, I found their dry grip to be very good, providing great feedback. The wet grip was decent, but I did notice a slight loss of traction on rainy days, which made me more cautious.

The biggest advantage of these tires is their affordability—they offer performance that is average to slightly above average for the price. However, my main concern, and the reason for this review, is their durability. Despite my moderate driving habits, I found that these tires wore out rather quickly.

When my tires had about 3mm of tread left (around 70% worn), I hit a small but somewhat deep pothole at just 29 mph. To my surprise, the tire completely blew out in the middle of the road! This incident made me realize that these tires are not very well reinforced and can become risky as they near the end of their lifespan. While they perform well initially, I urge drivers to be extra cautious once they start wearing down.

I also noticed that the peripheral edges of the tires began wrinkling, which could indicate weak reinforcement. Perhaps this was just my experience, but I didn’t expect a tire to fail so dramatically at low speed.
