Suzuki SX4 1.6 LITRE PETROL Tire Review Highlights

very nice tires. I have never had problems with grip or handling (sensible driving mostly). Rolling and fuel consumption were descent too. They generally felt a bit better than my previous michelins. I had to change them at 35000klm due ton unrepearable puncture from a screw, but they were too expensive to buy again. The wear was good enough to go for several months though.

3rd set of efficient grip tires just fitted won't use anything else excellent tire, wears well, quiet, great grip, comfortable, saves on fuel cost what more would you want from a tire?.

Driving on a combination of roads for 200 average miles
Great tires. First and foremost the grip is incredible in both dry and wet. Very comfortable ride, the tires absorb small bumps and road imperfections very well, made the car much more comfortable. Much quieter than anything else I had on this car (Toyo's and Dunlop's). The car doesn't feel "floaty" at all like others have reviewed, but the tires are very comfort oriented so the sidewall and tread are soft and so the tire feels a bit vague under aggressive cornering. It doesn't mean that they lack grip, just that the steering wheel feels a bit vague and not direct. So if you are looking for a sporty and direct tire look for something else. As I said there's plenty of grip and the tires feel quite progressive at the limit, there's plenty of warning before they completely "let go".

Bought a set of SU4s today after reading the positive reviews here. Been travelling on Michelin Primacy 3s until they were well worned (great tires if you looking for long wearing tires) and straight out of the shop felt the immediate difference. Rise was smoother and quieter, tires cushioned the bumps and holes well but still had good feedback through the steering. Admittedly I just drove on them for less than 10km, looking forward to getting some good milage on them and see how they hold up. So far great start!

Writing about the Toyo Proxes CF2 given 66% (225-45-17-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 20000 easy going miles
just had car MOT'd today - it was wearing four Proxes CF2s which I previously thought were good tires. However the car failed on two of the tires 'due to separation or failure of its structure' on two of them and an advisory on the others for perishing / cracking. Tires were 2 years old, about half worn at around 20k miles. Fairly sedate usage Not going near Toyo again.

Driving on a combination of roads for 25000 spirited miles
I live in ChiloƩ Island, in Chile, South America. I drive both asphalt and gravel roads. The tires have a nice design and all that but the performance of them is not the best. I used to have Bridgestone on the car but I couldn't afford them when I had to change them. So I tried with the Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance and I don't recommend them: they have weak lateral stability, understeer and long braking in the dry, elevated noise and tirewear is a shame. They were worn out at 25.000 miles.

Writing about the Dunlop SP Sport LM704 given 89% (205-60-16-H)
Driving on a combination of roads for 2000 spirited miles
I had to do this comparison because the previous tires I had on my car were not good regarding the performance as the name claimed (Goodyear efficient Grip Performance) So I was looking for better tires. And I found them with Dunlop. The design is nothing special, but it's got better grip, both on dry and wet asphalt. On concrete roads the grip however diminishes. I like the handling on curves, because the Goodyear EGP are quite soft on the sides so when taking a curve I could feel the car weight going on the opposite side of the curve. This doesn't happen with the Dunlop LM704. I don't have to use the breaks while approaching a curve. Ive tried emergency breaking and the tires don't slip on dry or wet asphalt. I totally recommend them.

Writing about the Pirelli Cinturato P1 Verde given 80% (195-65-15-H)
Driving on a combination of roads for 50 average miles
changed after 70.000 KM, very good value for money, offers a good balance between comfort and grip , so it's suitable for both city and highway driving , good braking as well, the only bad thing is that after about 20K KM it becomes harder and louder but, however, it has low wear and long life.
overall, excellent tires , recommended for normal everyday use, very good value for money.
i didn't buy them again because mine were made in Italy but now only made in Turkey is in the market and i'm not sure if it would be the same quality.

Writing about the Dunlop Sport BluResponse given 46% (225-45-17-)
Driving on mostly country roads for 4000 spirited miles
A newish set of these came with my Suzuki SX4.
They accentuated the cars hard ride, and the steering had a `sticky` feel in the straight ahead position.
They grip well on a warm dry road, but are very poor in the wet .It was very easy to spin the wheels pulling out into moving traffic on a wet road,(no traction control on the SX4).
I am no expert, but the tread design seems little more than slicks with longitudinal grooves, as the lateral grooves very quickly wear away from new.
I know this is contrary to the vast majority of opinion on here, but it is what I have experienced, and I guess the test comparisons are done on brand new tires
I threw them out at 5mm, and fitted a set of cross climates, which provided the same kind of huge improvement they had done on my Saab 9-3.
Improved steering, wet grip, and ride, and much, much quieter

Writing about the Nokian WeatherProof given 60% (205-50-17-V)
Driving on mostly town for 3000 easy going miles
I bought these Nokian weatherproof tires in Oct 2015 just in time for the uk winter after reading the excellent review given to them in the auto express magazine.
Wet grip is brilliant on these tires the, best I've ever experienced!!! Unfortunately I can't comment on snow performance as we got very little.
It's now june 2016 and I've only done approx 3,000 careful miles on these tires!
I noticed in early may that the tires had started cracking badly in the bottom of the treads around the tires shoulder area.
after several emails to nokian I was told to visit my nearest nokian dealer to have the tires inspected.
The reply back was that it's nothing to worry about but keep an eye on it ?????
I won't be buying nokian tires again if they crack like this after just 3000 miles! Avoid.

Writing about the Matador MP 92 Sibir Snow given 80% (225-45-17-)
Driving on mostly country roads for 3000 average miles
Normally I take only premium brands, Matador chosen first time after my friend checked them on his car and persuaded me to buy.Tested on Suzuki SX4 for one winter season in Bosnia and Herzegowina.Very able in deep fresh snow, surprisingly good traction and braking. Good handling on dry surfaces, very good on wet asphalt during braking, predictible behavior.Much less noisy than some premium winter tires I had last 20 years. For one season which was not so snowy in Bosnia there are hardly any signs of wear (I took off them early as spring came very early) during 5000km milleage on them. All in all - a bargain as I see no week point during the use but the price i so good.
