Tesla Model 3 LR Tire Review Highlights

Writing about the Hankook iON Evo given 61% (235-40-19-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 20000 average miles
It's a good quiet and comfortable tire for my EV, however the grip is quite limited compared to PS4 or PS5. A bit of an unfair comparison but I feel grip is the most important rather than comfort. Dry grip is just slightly above average, wet grip is average.

Was swerving to avoid an object on the road, the tire screeched loudly and provided just barely enough grip during that situation. If it was ps4 or ps5 in the same situation, there probably will not be any screeching and would have plenty of grip left over.

Writing about the Vredestein Quatrac Pro EV given 90% (235-45-18-)
Driving on mostly town for 100 spirited miles
I recently purchased these tires for my Tesla Model 3 Dual Motor Long Range based on reviews of the original Quatrac tire. The EV version should theoretically be better, but time will tell. My previous tires were Michelin Pilot Sport 4 summer tires, which offered excellent grip and handling.

So far, my impressions of the Quatrac Pro EV are positive. They feel slightly softer and more comfortable, with noise levels that seem about the same. These tires don’t have the foam band on the inside like some other models.

I typically drive aggressively with Slip-Start ON to make the car more tail-happy. I wore out the Michelins in just one year, so if these tires also last a year, I’ll be satisfied.

Under hard driving and in rainy conditions, the Vredestein tires slide slightly more, which I find adds to the fun. Braking performance is good both in wet and dry conditions.

I haven’t driven in snow or on ice yet, but I’ll share a follow-up once I have more experience in those conditions.

Had these tire's fitted as stock from Tesla and they have been really good reliable tires. I don't have anything to compare them to on the Model 3, dry grip has been excellent but I have experienced times on wet roads where the cars stabilization control has taken over. Not sure if this is just an over aggressive stabilization control on the car though. The most impressive thing on this tire is the tread wear, it's just reached 70,000KM and there is still some treadwear left on them, I reckon they can go for another 5,000KM but given their age (5 years), I will get them replaced. Thank you Hankook for a safe 70,000KM's.

Driving on mostly town for 250 spirited miles
After premature wear on Pure Contact LS(lasted only 30K with normal spirited driving on Tesla M3 AWD), decided to give the newer version Tour 54, due to projected better wear. Initial drive was on light rain, with fantastic grip and subsyantially reduced noise(even without the noise absobing foam). Also found the handling to be much better with lower tire pressure in low 40s(psi), with very good cushioning. In general very happy with lower road nouse, better handling and comfort, with unexpectedly excellent wet road performance.

Good overall tire, but not great, it's more towards eco with good range and low rolling resistance. Wet grip is not too good, but it's very progressive on the limit. Comfortable tires for daily use.

Driving on a combination of roads for 20000 average miles
Good comfort and noise. Ok dry and wet grip for a summer touring. Poor wear. I've done a little under 20000 miles and the tires are done. They should be able to handle 42PSI as they are rated to 50PSI but show excessive central wear. Also cracks are starting to show in-between the tread, I don't know if this is normal for a tire that is under 12 months old. I've ordered some Continental PremiumContact7 so hopefully these will be better.

Driving on mostly motorways for 34000 spirited miles
I've been thoroughly impressed with the Hancook Ventus S1 Evo 3 tires that came supplied on my Tesla Model 3, Long Range, Dual Motor. As a high-performance car enthusiast, I always purchase high performance tires, and these have exceeded my expectations.

They had slightly less grip in wet conditions than dry, but overall these tires have demonstrated outstanding performance on the road.

What truly surprised me is their durability. Reaching 34,000 miles before needing replacement is quite an achievement. It's a testament to their quality and longevity.

Before trying these tires, I hadn't considered the Hancook brand, but now I'm replacing them with the same model without hesitation. They've proven to be a perfect fit for my Tesla Model 3, and I highly recommend them to anyone seeking a combination of efficiency, performance, and longevity in their tires.

Driving on mostly country roads for 7000 average miles
TL;DR I am extremely satisfied with the Nokian R3's in snow and ice conditions. Last winter I was driving over a mountain-ridge, in single-digit freezing(celsius) and heavy snow, the road was completely covered and some cars were driving, so the snow was very compact. I had to stop multiple times, due to opposing traffic and I was able to continue without any problems, passing other cars and busses, that had no chance of continuing from a stop on the mountainside (8-10degree cliam)

Driving on a combination of roads for 11000 spirited miles
Came new on my 2020 model 3 LR with boost and have been on for 12 months over 11000 miles. Great dry grip and decent wet grip. Can spin all 4 wheels in the wet relatively easily but can be attributed to the instant torque. Quiet but wears extremely fast - down to 3-4mm all round after only 11000 miles. Switched to Michelin PS4S as previous experience on a M4 shown they wear much slower, rears still at 4mm after >20k miles. Only reason I can see for someone having these tires is either they’re still on their factory set or they need to replace with identical tires as per lease contract.
