Volkswagen Tiguan 2.0 TSI 200HP Tire Review Highlights

Writing about the Yokohama BluEarth GT AE51 given 84% (235-50-18-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 5000 average miles
Very good tires for dry handling, very good fuel economy, the only thing bothers me is the comfort.. even with 32psi these are rough on even small humps or potholes. These are bit tough tires and may lasts longer. Due to its low rolling resistance, breaking distance also bit more. Michelin Primacy 4 were much better on comfort absorbing uneven road surface but they are 1.5 times expensive.. but they are worth because of perfect balance of safety, stability, comfort and economy.

On good highways Yokohama AE51 are very stable, comfortable, confident, and giving me very good fuel economy than Michelins. If the slow speed and rough road comfort they can improve then these will be the one of the best tires for its price.

I put these on my wife's Volkswagen Tiguan 4motion and they handle decent, ride nice and really good in the rain. Here in CT we get our fair share of snow and they are way better than the Bridgestones that came with it by a lot. We have roughly 20,000 miles on them now, rotate them every 7,000ish and the wear seems spot on so i've been very happy with them and so is the wife.

Driving on mostly town for 3000 average miles
Well i'm pretty surprized by comfort of this RFT version that have a star sign on sidewall. This tire combines ruggedness with comfort and noise level. It feels very responsive while maneuvering while each changing of direction feels tight, grippy and very predictibale. Car follows traction with just a little more latency than potenza tires. Wet driving on these tires just fine but i suppose it has its limits but again fair enough for city drivers. Dry & Wet braking is excellent. I think it is a good choise for those who lives in urban conditions, suitable for highways very stable on high speeds 200+ km/h. This is touring tire for city and for long distances but obviously not for track.

A sporty tire, not very comfortable, with great steering/handling, stable at higher speeds (around 200 km/h) where the sidewall is hard (tougher than the Continental ContiWinterContact TS830 P, I checked that), the rim protection is really big and the noise is acceptable.

Good tires for my driving style. Not noisy, not so soft and not so hard. I bouht a new set of tires instead the old one. Dry and wet grip is good. Driving is comfort. I drive calmly, not too fast. I dont driving in winter conditions.

Great choice. They are actually so good that I couldn't realise that I have a broken spring at the rear. Even with a high speed, the car is very stable in turns. Unique. I have no patience to try them on snow because that's the only fear that I have now. In wet you can't even find out that you have water under your tires. If they are as good in snow as in dry and wet, I would never buy other tire.
