165/55 14 Tire Review Highlights

Deestone Vincente R203 rated 86% while driving a Daihatsu Perodua Viva 1.0 sx Twin Turbo
Driving on a combination of roads for 40000 spirited miles
Good quality tires. Grips okay wet and dry and provides a great range when it comes to handling. There is still some hydroplaning/skidding when driving over water puddles during rain if you're doing 90km/h, which is typically normal isn't it? But nothing too bad that will cause an accident and totally manageable. Just remember not to overinflate the tires. Keep it within the specified range prescribed by the auto manufacturers and the range printed on the tire itself. Very important.

Recently changed 4 tires on a FF car and I'm sure that these tires are good. Btw I drive for a living, was in logistics and passenger service and was a professional driver and still one.

Overall, good. Good price and quality. Totally recommended to buy if you're looking to drive rough in Asia. Cheers

Yokohama BluEarth Es ES32 rated 83% while driving a Daihatsu Perodua Kelisa
Driving on mostly town for 24000 average miles
Been on 2nd set of these wonderful tires on my small city ride. Very comfort and silent drive among city lanes, no issue for most condition from dry to wet roads. Don't expect high performance, but normal driving should suit most people with decent comfort and performance. Lasted around 40,000km with average driving style which is good for me.

Point S Summerstar 2 rated 53% while driving a Toyota AYGO
Driving on a combination of roads for 4000 average miles
These tires are fitted on my Toyota Aygo 2009 model in the 165/55/14 size on steel rims. I will replace them with better eco tires (maybe allseason tires) when they are done.

Grips pretty ok in the dry (pretty soft sidewall), but is terrible in the wet. Wheelspin off the line in wet conditions and prone to aquaplaning. So lowering speed and better anticipation is the best way to counteract this.

Fairly loud regarding road noise, but the Aygo is also badly insulated, so therefore a 6 instead of a 5 regarding score. Will not recommend except if you are on a very tight budget. But then it would probably be better to buy second hand A-grade tires then these.

Michelin Pilot Preceda 2 rated 77% while driving a Unknown Unknown
Driving on mostly motorways for 0 spirited miles
Only michelin tire available for this size other than Falken and Goodyear tires
Much more grip compared to other tires I've used event hough it's expensive in malaysia
But it's worth while getting them if you're a fast driver.. quite similar to pilot sports 3

Sure to buy them again in future

Toyo TEO plus rated 80% while driving a Daihatsu Charade
Driving on a combination of roads for 2000 spirited miles
predictable, good dry and wet grip among the comfort tires. The best thing is quietness and comfort. It takes a few days to get use to the softness (slightly lack of road feedback), once familiar with the characteristic, can start to push the car and do power slides.

Kumho Solus KH17 rated 21% while driving a Hyundai I10
Driving on mostly town for 9000 easy going miles
These tires are DANGROUS! - I purchased an i10 brand new fitted with these tires. After just 9000 miles they had worn through to the raylon cords (the steel had been worn through). Tracking had been checked when I had complained about poor handaling / poor fuel consumption etc.. when it was just a few months old.

Both front tires had worn on the inner most edge (as if the toe out was wildly out of spec), You could not see the potentialy fatal problem unless you layed in in front of the car and looked from under it! The tire Technician who replaced them (after he stopped laughing) said that the tires had gone out of shape due to the fact they were just "rubish" Tires and said I was unbelievably lucky that I hadnt had a blow out! the car is driven by my wife and doesnt get thrashed (the 1.2 engine couldnt pull the skin off of a rice pudding anyway).

Since changing them, handaling has vastly improved and after aproximately 10,000 more miles the replacements still have 5mm left on them and are wearing evenly across the tread. Fuel consumption has also greatly improved!

I cant believe Hyundai would fit such bad tires on a new Car - what else have they economised on?

an amazing tire, fantastic for money, offers far better quality than tires more than 50% more expensive.
definately a must for a keen driver on a budget
