225/60 15 Tire Review Highlights

Rotalla RH02 E Pace rated 87% while driving a BMW 520i
Driving on mostly town for 500 spirited miles
What a great surprise this tire is....I was looking for some budget tires for my old 5 series and after some research I decided to give these a go...wow...great handling, confortable, silent tires. They seem to perform much better than the TOYO PROXES CF2 that they replaced, even at high speeds in excess of 140km./h.
Really happy with the purchase. Definitely recommend them.

Pirelli Scorpion Verde rated 83% while driving a Subaru Forester 2.0 XT
Driving on a combination of roads for 4000 average miles
I change from Bridgestone Dueler (V speedrate) and these tires feel more gummy, less handling control feeling.
Because of the higher price than Dueler, I will not buy again

Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance rated 0% while driving a Toyota Unknown
Driving on a combination of roads for 18 easy going miles
These tires, DOT stamped 2915 were fitted 11/15 and since then have done 18,000 miles. The front needed to be replaced before winter but the rear tires still have 5-6mm tread across the tire. However after a rapid deflation due I think to a failed puncture repair carried out about 9 months ago I noticed that there was severe cracking in the casing of the failed tire between the treads. Similar cracking is present in the casing of the two rear tires even though there is still 5-6mm of tread depth. The cracking suggest premature perishing of the casing, not something I would have expected from a premium grade tire recommended and fitted by a Toyota dealer.

The tires were fine when new but grip/road holding has deteriorated markedly with use. The premature perishing suggests that a warning should be issued for these tires once they are more than 2 years old.

Sailun Atrezzo SH402 rated 94% while driving a Holden commodore
Driving on a combination of roads for 15000 spirited miles
I have a Commodore Wagon with 225/60/15's.Was previously running Maxxis tires which lacked grip and squealed in corners and bends.Went to my local Tire Power and they fitted the Sailun's at $100 each. Wow so impressed for a cheap tire, quiet, good handling, comfortable and great handling. My wife was also impressed much better than more expensive brands like Bridgestone,Khumo etc. Will definitely purchase again

Avon ZZ3 rated 64% while driving a BMW 520i
Driving on a combination of roads for 20000 average miles
These were initially very good and provided good grip on wet/dry. After around 5000miles the noise started to increase but the performance remained. I have driven on different road conditions and the tire kept up very well. I have used Michelins, Bridgestone & Pirellis prior. They are still better as I bought this due to unavailability of those at the time of purchase.

Toyo Proxes CF1 rated 97% while driving a Porsche 911 SC Targa 1983
Driving on a combination of roads for 1 spirited miles
I fitted Toyo CFs to my 1980s Porsche 911 SC Targa after a very unsatisfactory experience with Bridgestones which badly accentuated body roll. Much too hard. The Toyos on my 15" ATS cookie cutter wheels not only looked period correct but brought back feeling and feedback. After fitting the Toyos everyone in the trade that drove the car commented on how well it drove. Some improvement was due to going from 16s to 15s which increases the tire wall height giving a much more period correct feel, but the Toyo tires with their softer tire wall added a lot to the enjoyment. With a Bilstein sports suspension set up and 6J & 7J 15" ATS or Fuchs shod with Toyos you are nearing motoring heaven. This gives a period correct set up which many early race 911s would have used. Speed and handling is not all about low profile tires on bigger wheels - in fact the very opposite. I think Toyos are really excellent tires for classic sports cars. They sponsor the BRSCC Porsche racing series today.

Falken ZE912 rated 63% while driving a BMW E34 5 Series
Driving on a combination of roads for 16000 spirited miles
These tires were pretty much universally praised on online forums but having used them for 16,000 miles I have my reservations.
I cannot criticize their grip, wet or dry they are rather difficult to unstick. However I do have a problem with their wear characteristics and their road manners. When I first used them, I noticed that the car was tram-lining more readily than on the old tires and the tires themselves were rapidly wearing into a saw tooth pattern which I haven't experienced with any other tire. I checked the tracking and the front toe was minus seven minutes from spec (not a lot but I duly corrected it). Even so the saw tooth patterns remained until I rotated the tires diagonally across the car. Tire pressures were regularly checked so were not the cause, which leads me onto my next criticism- Noise and comfort. On some surfaces these tires are much noisier than a premium tire, and the ride quality, too, is way behind that of the premium tires.
Finally, for me these tires were only 15% cheaper than Continentals. For these reasons I believe I'll be going for Continentals or Vredesteins next.

Yokohama C Drive rated 89% while driving a Toyota Innova

On to my third set in two different cars. There tires have amazing wet grip and very good in the dry. Silent, comfortable yet sporty..have not seen such an amazing combination till now.

Uniroyal RainExpert rated 77% while driving a BMW 525 TDS
Driving on mostly country roads for 20000 spirited miles
Very good grip in the wet, good in the dry, predicable all round. I would like to get more miles out of them. We get lots of rain in the west of Ireland very impressive on the wet country roads here. You will have to push them very hard to lose them.

Kenda KOMET PLUS KR23 rated 83% while driving a Ford Fairlane NL
Driving on mostly country roads for 10000 average miles
I find these tires better gripping in both wet & dry conditions than my previous selection, being Michelin Energy MXV8. They are also much more quiet and nowhere near as hard as far as road feedback is concerned. I'd buy again as they are a reasonably economical tire to purchase when considering other brands.
