Toyo Snowprox S953 rated 73% while driving a Skoda Karoq 2.0TSI 4x4 Sportline
Driving on a combination of roads for 10000 average miles
Good all-rounder at a fair price. Not the best winter tires, but will do the job. Best suited for milder winters city cruiser with mushy roads but handle well on snowy roads too. They wear out reasonably too. Can't fault these at all.

Kumho Solus 4S HA32 rated 91% while driving a Mazda CX 3
Driving on mostly country roads for 5000 average miles
Replaced the prematurely perished factory fitted Toyo tires fitted to our CX3 (less than 5 years old) with these Kumho HA32 around 18 months ago. In summer I've noticed virtually no difference to the Toyo summer tires, if anything they perform better in both wet and dry conditions, plus they are notably better than the Goodyear Vector 4 Gen 3 on my spouses car.
In the winter however, lower than hoped traction in ice, along with a perceived higher wear rate, let these tires down a little. Mind I'd still be happy to recommend them overall.

Well, I got a BIG (and BAD) surprise from Michelin CC2.
In November 2023 I fitted a new set of them (manufacturing date 07/2022) on my Seat Ateca, and up to a week ago I was really satisfied: excellent behavior on dry, very good on wet, maybe not extremely comfortable but in general very good tires.
Last week I used them in the Alps on snow (both on slush and fresh, non-packed snow) and I was shocked by the low level of grip: LOTS of spinning, LOTS of swerving, in a couple of cases I couldn't even start the car in the desired direction gently uphill (I had to turn the car and go downhill instead...).
And this happened with CC2, which should go as well as mid level winter tires on the snow, according to instrumental tests.
I used to have Vredestein Quatrac Pro on my car, and despite the low score they get on the tests I drove them on packed snow (not happened to drive on slush or non packed snow) as they were on dry!
@JonathanBenson: in your opinion, could this shocking behavior be due to the low mileage I have on the CC2 (3500 km from November)? Do you think they could improve in the future? Otherwise I need to replace them for the winter, or at least buy snow chains...

Michelin X Ice Snow rated 76% while driving a Alfa Romeo 159
Driving on mostly country roads for 50 average miles
Fitted the x ice snow as they were one of few nordic winter tires available in my size. The other one was Hakkapeliitta R5. I have had hakkas before with great success, but decided to go for michelin this time because of better longevity, since these alfas are known for eating front tires. The x ices was 1250 euros fitted on car.

Where i live there are either tarmac or ice. Rarely snow. And the snow get to slush, and then ice again. So that is the conditions these tires are tested on.

Asphalt, dry or wet. Very reassuring, and calm feeling trough the tires. Good grip, with early signals when pushing the car too much. The general comfort and rolling is great....maybe a little bit more noise than i expected. More than pirellis fr's for example. But i think that is to blame for the knobby, tractor like tread pattern of the x-snows.

Ice.... terrible! I don't know if that is just me being used to studded nordic tires, but even the studless hakka r3 i remember was better on ice than these. I suspect that has to to with harder compound. That is just not for michelin, but a trend that seems to be in almost all tires nowadays. Maybe because of high torque cars. I miss the really soft rubbery tires for like 10 years ago. I have a car with bf ko2' and they are just a little bit worse than x ice snow on the same hill.

I know x ice snow was best with r5 in ice grip, so don't take my opinion for granted, but at least on black ice of western norway, there was not much grip to be found.

But then the snow came, at least for 2 days. And wow! I understand the name x ice SNOW. The pattern just paks down the snow and grip. No need to explain. Other than a 4x4 volvo struggled where i drove straight up a snowy hill with fwd.

So these tires are great at snow and overall driving on asphalt. Wet asphalt are my 80% driving so that is good. The only drawback are grip on ice. But maybe my only option for that should have been the x ice north 4 studded. But studless tires is because i don't have to pay stud taxes in the cities.

After 300 miles the tires settled more in i can feel. Will try on ice again.

Bought these based on reviews. Had all four previous Bridgestone Turanza (factory fitted 5 years ago when the car was new) replaced by these. When I drove from the garage they felt really planted and quiet. As I always check the tire pressures when I get home after having new tires fitted I left it a couple of hours to let them cool down. On initial inspection they looked like they needed more air in them. So I got the pump out and the gauge read 41psi (10psi more than recommended). I thought it was the gauge on the pump being faulty so I used another gauge only to find it was reading correctly. So I lowered them to 35psi (any more they would look flat). I took the car out for a 15 mile drive only to find the noise level much more (unbearable) than my previous tires and the ride did not feel as safe. What do I do now? Inflate the tires back to 41psi? Do I have a set of defective tires? Should I have bought budget tires? These must be the worst tires I have bought in all my 50 years of driving!

Very bad tires, hard, heavy, uncomfortable and very noisy. I will change them after 1500 miles. I can't stand them anymore.

Hankook Ventus S1 evo 3 SUV rated 90% while driving a SEAT 1.4 TSI
Driving on a combination of roads for 500 average miles
21 plate and the factory fitted Falken were on there last legs after 17k. Badly worn in the middle of tire even though at the recommended 36psi. Have used Hankook in the past and like other cars I have used them on great tires good feedback grip and smooth on the road.

Those were installed on my SEAT ATECA when I got stuck and needed tires ASAP. First time I ever bought tires without researching them. I wanted to stay on Vredestein Ultrac but the dealer didn't have any in stock and suggested these. I have to say it is by far the worst tire I have ever had on any of my vehicles. Dreadful traction on dry and the stability control works overtime every time I try to start from a dead stop. Similarly bad traction on bends, even in the Cyprus summer when the road is at 50 degrees Celsius. Noisy and generally uncomfortable. However, I was surprised to find out they are not as bad on really wet roads. So on those two days per year when it rains hard in Cyprus, I should be OK. Other than that they are an accident waiting to happen so I ordered some Vredesteins and I am using my other car until they arrive so I can get rid of this garbage. I put up with them for about 10K as I drive a lot every day and was hoping they would "bed in", but they have to go. I won't even sell them as lightly used as they are truly dangerous, so I will be throwing away a few hundred Euro. Needless to say Yokohama is on my blacklist.

I’ve been driving with these tires for quite some time now and I have to say that the only very positive aspect is fuel consumption, dry handling is average, on wet surface I never felt really safe, braking feels always a bit too long and finally comfort is simply bad: car is bumpy but not noisy, and on ruined roads is far from acceptable. So I can’t suggest this tire.

Driving on a combination of roads for 16115 spirited miles
Chose these tires for my new car, since I couldn’t get the Goodyear vector 4seasons generation 3 at the time of purchase of car. Unfortunately I have regretted the decision daily, maybe I have found myself unlucky but I’ve had three punctures on these tires, in a relatively short time span of only 16,000 miles. In general I think these tires are a disappointment, when I compare with the older Goodyear vector 4seasons generation 2. Let’s just say these are nothing special, in my mind. That’s not to say that they are especially bad. Even though the rear tires are practically new and the front ones are only worn about a third. I will be changing these tires out for the Goodyear vector 4seasons generation 3 or maybe the Michelin cross climate 2.
