Avon ZZ3 Reviews - Page 5

Given 93% while driving a MG ZT 260 (225/45 R18 W) on mostly motorways for 20,000 average miles
Great tires with lots of grip. Excellent rubber quality and design, very reliable on different road conditions. An economical buy and they're made in the UK. The best choice, no doubt!

Given 47% while driving a Audi A6 (245/40 R18 W) on mostly motorways for 29,000 average miles
Not a good rear tire for an A6, scrubbed of inside rear edge very quickly at less than 29000 miles also seem badly mishappen (got 62000 miles off original rear tires) have read there are problems with these tires when fitted to the rear of other cars - Avon should do the honest thing and change their recommendations - and replace these tires!!

Given 97% while driving a Honda Civic Type R (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 10,000 spirited miles
these tires are great value for the money would 100% buy again with even hinkjng twice. in the dry you can chuck the car in any corner at high speed an i know its safe they have good grip. so i dont know why people are commenting say the grip isint to good because it clearly is?? they hardly make any noise and are comfortable. ive driven 7,000 VERY HARD miles and theres still plenty left. great tire! recommend to anyone tbh especially civic drivers feel amazing on type r's! ive tried the bridgestones tbh i just wanted them off! crap for the price of them!

Given 66% while driving a BMW 330d SE (255/35 R18 W) on a combination of roads for 9,500 spirited miles
Great tires. Perfectly capable of dealing with the massive torque of my 330d. Made the car really manageable and fun on the limit. Would buy again if the wear rate was on the better side of 10k miles :P

Given 89% while driving a Mazda 3 Sport 2.2 Diesel 185 BHP (205/50 R17) on a combination of roads for 10,000 spirited miles
these tires are great for the money. Love them, they have been replaced by the ZV5 which are just as good. I had ZZ3's fitted to my previous car a Seat Ibiza TDI Sport and covered over 50000 miles (obviously not one set of ZZ3's) this encouraged me to buy again for my new car.

Given 66% while driving a BMW 320i Msport (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 0 average miles
Good set of tires, only had them at the rear and had them put on when it snowed last year and it made a massive difference. When the roads were BMW graveyards I managed to drive around with minor hassle. Previously has Pilot Sports, which offered more grip in wet and dry but were hopeless in the snow due to their radial tread pattern. Good all round cheap(er) tire.

A good tire, except, they went badly out of shape and give terrible road noise.

Given 91% while driving a Mazda RX8 (235/40 R18 W) on a combination of roads for 10,000 average miles
I bought those from UK and i love them since then.
I can do whatever i want with my rx8 even drifting in the wet and still don't get wear on them!
No aquaplane, predictable tire with good grip in wet and dry!
I will def. buy again!

Given 80% while driving a Jaguar S type 3.0 (245/40 R18 W) on mostly country roads for 16,000 easy going miles
Great tires. Had loads on my Jag and also an MGF. Top tire. The experience of the Honda type R maybe due to incorrect wheel alignment as I had this on my MGF. Defnititely buy again mid range tire at mid range prices but a premium tire in my eyes. Also doesnt add to the balance of payments deficit as they are UK made.

Given 64% while driving a Vauxhall Insignia CDTI 160 (245/45 R18 W) on mostly motorways for 20,000 average miles
I replaced Bridgestones with these tires, and was very happy with the result, they were quieter than the Bridgestones too. As time and the miles passed, they became noisy, and now with 20,000 miles on them (they last very well) they are suffering from 'cupping' (google it) which makes them VERY noisy and unbalanced. It may just be a combination of car and driving style (75% of time at speed limit on motorway on cruise control) that has caused this.

Given 84% while driving a MG ZT 260 (225/45 R18 W) on a combination of roads for 1,000 spirited miles
Nice dry grip, don't squeal too much and are very progressive as they let go. They also get better the warmer or the more they are worked. They clear a lot of water in the wet and are unlikely to aquaplane which is nice when the family are in the car. Grip wise they have good wet grip but maybe not as much as continental sc3 or other premium tires. I drive more carefully in the wet but the feedback allows a bit of fun at low speeds. They give a good ride with low road noise. The size I have are xtra load or re-inforced they seem to suit the car well. All said if I had an endless supply of money I would choose a high performance tire in high end premium brand. However for the price they are excellent performance/cost and far better than the mid-range tires on the car before (the previous owners Maxxis tires where a few months old when I changed for the ZZ3's).
