Best All Terrain Tires Tested On Road, Off Road and Snow [2024]
3rd of 7 tires
  • Bridgestone Dueler A/T 002 proved to be one of the more road-focused AT tires. On dry roads it delivered the best braking performance in the test along with good handling stability and steering response. Wet performance was commendably good with reasonable braking distances and safe, predictable handling characteristics. Its main weakness showed in snow conditions where it fell behind other winter-rated tires in the test across all metrics. Offroad performance was decent overall though it wasn't class-leading, showing particular weakness in muddy conditions. The tire's strengths lie in its efficiency - rolling resistance was very good at 7.8 kg/t. While relatively loud at 72.9 dB, it offered average comfort levels and good bump absorption. A solid choice for those who spend most time on roads but want occasional offroad capability.

Questions and Answers for the Bridgestone Dueler All Terrain AT002

2024-08-20 - Would these tires be suitable for a Subaru Forester e-Boxer of 2024? As I drive off road every day to and from my farm in a valley over a rather bad mountain track. It gets very slippery when wet.

Yes, assuming you can get the correct size and load rating I believe the AT002 would be a great choice. Also worth checking out the other mild AT tires in the segment such as the Continental TerrainContact AT and Falken Wildpeak Trail.

Top 3 Bridgestone Dueler All Terrain AT002 Reviews

Given 100% while driving a Ford Ranger (265/60 R18) on a combination of roads for 400 easy going miles
Bought these for my Ford Ranger based in the UK. Early days but so far excellent grip on dry and wet roads, no aquaplaning in heavy rain. Have noticed on mud im able to move along in 2WD whereas on the OEM Continental tires I would have to select 4WD. Performance in light wet snow on UK roads has been excellent. Waiting for heavy snow to assess further. Slight rumbling from tread pattern at ~28mph but you have to really listen for it. Otherwise completely on par noise wise with previous conti tires. Highway speed any tire noise is overridden by wind noise from mirrors. Ride comfort is excellent and mpg is 0.5mpg average better than Conti's. Run tires at 35psi inline with ECE117 tire label rating reg. when driving on asphalt. Will review further when have higher wear but so far so good.

Early days yet but these are surprisingly quiet and comfortable on the road for what is a proper all-terrain tire. A great alternative to the Yokohama G015, which is no longer available in the 195/80R15 size. They look really good, too.

Given 97% while driving a Subaru Subaru forester 2.0 (225/60 R17) on track for 1 spirited miles
Awesome tires. I studies the various tires for my Subaru Forester eBoxer (2024), because of where I live, I need good AT performance, yet also good road performance and as winters get cold here in rural/inland Spain, also good winter and snow performance. And after thr Dana the Valencia area experienced, the track I have to drive daily (or twice a day) had become even more challenging. But these tires seem to have it all and perform outstanding. I also looked at the energy labelling of these tires. There are very few AT tires that have a C rating. On the tarmac, these tires are virtually as quiet as the original Bridgestone Dueller HP Sport, that the car came with. So I am super pleased!

Given 53% while driving a Mitsubishi triton (265/65 R17) on a combination of roads for 1,500 spirited miles
Driven 2000+km with them fitted on low mileage small 4x4 with upgraded suspension & they are close to being the worst Tires/Tires I have ever owned. And no matter what they say, the sidewalls on these are too soft and the tread footprint is too small and therefore it feels feels like you chassis is floating on jelly. Because of this you have to run them at between 40lb and 45lb ( cold) just to be able to get a stable responsive ride, but then (of course) you get an extremely rough ride. They are very quiet on new bitumen roads in the cities but buzz loudly on the older bitumen, and on gravel you have to yell to communicate with passengers they are so loud. They grip well in the wet & dry on straight and slight bends but under-steer on sharper bends, especially in the wet. I had a set of cheap Monsta Terrain Grippers before these and yes, they where noisy but at least they felt stable and where better in the wet. They had a much wider footprint on the road and the handling was so much better than these Duelers.
