Bridgestone Turanza ER300 Reviews - Page 8

Given 84% while driving a Fiat Grande Punto 1.3Multijet 75bhp (195/55 R16 V) on mostly motorways for 28,000 average miles
OEM fitment to a FIAT PUNTO EVO ELEGANZA DIESEL. 28,000 MILES FROM THE FRONT AND 35,000 FROM THE REAR, 80% Motorway use. I have stuck with Bridgestones as the price/wear/grip/comfort/noise characteristics suit the car well.
Have same tires fitted to SEAT and a Renault, with no complaints.

Given 84% while driving a Ford Fiesta (195/50 R15 V) on a combination of roads for 25,000 spirited miles
Great summer Tire but falls short with poor performance in the snow with little or no grip which you would expect from a summer compound rubber.
Ran a new set of 4 for a year doing about 15000 on them before replacing the front ones when winter came along continuing to run the back ones for another 10000 before having to replace due to a puncture with still 3mm of tread left on it so on the back of car they last for around 25000+ which is good going.

Given 66% while driving a Skoda Octavia (205/55 R16 H) on a combination of roads for 32,000 average miles
Had these tires come with the car at purchase. Not a mind-blowing (or mind-numbing) set of tires, that did the job acceptably. In Australia we have very coarse bitumen (asphalt) and the tire noise was significant compared to 2 other brands we drove on demo cars (also octavias). As wear progressed the wet grip dropped off significantly and the ESC light became more frequent. Rotating regularly has evened out the wear - fronts taking the bigger hit with the diesel out the front. Now time for new tires and looking for an alternative brand with better wear and noise while keeping the same level of grip these had when new. Not a sporting tire, but not a bad option - just looking for something better.

Given 96% while driving a Skoda Octavia (205/55 R16 W) on mostly country roads for 75 average miles
Excellent summer tires, very happy with grip in dry and wet. Lasted well with almost 40k miles before replacing on 2.0 tdi front wheel drive. Replaced originals with same tires at 35k miles because weather got bad and wanted new rubber for snow, but even with new tires they were bad in snow on heavier car. Replaced them with a seperate set of winter tires and amazing difference in bad conditions. Don't think I'd go back to having one set for all year round ever again.

Given 60% while driving a Mercedes Benz SLK 200 (245/40 R17) on mostly motorways for 9,000 average miles
These tires were fitted by Mercedes from manufacture. Bought the new Slk in July 2011, at it's first service in July 2012 was informed that both rear tires were ready for replacement due to tread wear!! Have only driven 9000 miles and at a push may get another 500 out of them. Contacted Bridgestone who stated the mileage was about right, but can range up to 15,000. Big variation between 9 and 15 thousand. I am taking this up with Mercedes as I am less than impressed. My previous Slk did about 15000 before the rear tires were anything like ready for replacement. I seem to recall they were Pirelli. Would be interested to hear from any other new SLK owners with the same problem.

Given 91% while driving a Skoda Fabia vRS (205/45 R16 W) on a combination of roads for 5,000 average miles
My first experience of these were a worn pair that I had fitted to replace some awful budget tires (Infinity's). I ran the Bridgestone's on the front of my VRS (1.9 TDI) until, dare I say, probably an illegal limit.Even so they still performed better in every condition (especially the wet), than the Infinity's which had plenty of tread left.

I have since had a new pair fitted to the front, which I am pleased to say have not given me any reason to change my thoughts on this tire. Unfortunately I am still running a pair of Infinity tires on the back, and regardless of the condition of the Bridgestone's fitted to the front, the Infinity on the rear will let go a long time before the front does.

In the dry these tires are as good as, if not better than any tire I have experienced so far.
The only time that I have managed to lose grip from these Bridgestone's is during wet cornering, and it must be said that a poor driving style was needed to do this. In wet conditions full acceleration mid corner will lose traction and give under-steer, which i'm not sure any tire would give a different result since the VRS has a large amount of torque. Otherwise I would certainly buy these tires again as I really can not fault them in any way so far.

Obviously a cars set up will alter how they use their tires, but I certainly haven't experenced a better tire, specially at this price.

Given 89% while driving a Nissan R33 Skyline GtS25T (205/55 R16 V) on a combination of roads for 25,000 spirited miles
Been using these on the rears of my RWD Skyline (with directionals on the front) - the ER300 is simply a fantastic tire! Great in the dry, rock solid in the wet - they simply don't want to give up. Excellent wear, progressiveness, great value (often find these around the £75 mark). Yes, they are noisy. Can't have it all. Even very worn, they outperform many similarly priced new tires - can't praise them enough.

Moved from Goodyear F1s to these because of their superior winter performance - and any RWD car in the wet is a serious test of cold weather performance. The F1s are a fantastic summer tire, but useless - and dangerous - in snow/ice. But then they're not designed for cold weather.

Considering Bridgestone A001 this winter.

Given 73% while driving a Citroën Xsara (195/55 R15 V) on mostly town for 3,500 easy going miles
Bought 2nd hand at very good condition 4 of these and at a bargain price, half the price for a new Chinese tire set. Have had around 5000 kilometers over town roads and motorways. Very impressed on the way that the car handle on wet roads, very good on dry too. Good breaking distances, moderate wear. Although I am a Michelin fan, these tires proved to be a very good purchase.
