Bridgestone Turanza ER300 Reviews - Page 9

Given 83% while driving a Renault Laguna sport tourer (205/50 R16) on a combination of roads for 12,000 average miles
Have tried both 91 load rated and extra load (94). Car responded better with extra load fitted, as the standard load variety felt softer with more noticeable sidewall movement. Performance in wet is very reassuring, but there are quieter tires out there. Nonetheless, very impressive performance and good durability.

Given 89% while driving a Volkswagen Touran tdi (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 28,500 spirited miles
These tires came fitted to the car from new and I was not very impressed. All my other VW’s had come with either Conti’s or Michelins and I have always been able to get over 20,000 miles out of them and I classed the Bridgestone’s as a budget brand.

However, the more I drove my car the better the tires became, with very good feedback, in the wet or dry with encouraged some spirited driving and the Bridgestone’s were always up to the job. Towards the end of their life from about 3mm onwards the grip both dry and wet did fall away. At 22,000 miles I had 2.5mm of tread left, when I had them changed at 28,500 miles it was just under 2.5mm.

Great tire & have used again.

Given 90% while driving a Volkswagen (205/55 R16) on a combination of roads for 2,000 easy going miles
Just replaced my Contimental ContiPremiumContact2 tires with the Bridgstone Turanza ER300, What a difference.
The conti's only managed around 15,000 miles with a mixture of relaxed country and motorway driving(2 Fronts)and on my car, a VW Passat bluemotion they lacked feedback and didn't inspire confidence when cornering, feeling dull and unresponsive.
The Turanza's, (again fronts), are very different, great feedback in both dry and wet and very good steering feedback through the bends. Not sure how well they'll wear so will add another review to say how long they lasted. So far very impressed.

Given 91% while driving a Ford Focus mk2 (205/55 R16 V) on a combination of roads for 47 average miles
I bought the Er300 in May 2010, replacing the original ER30's that came on the car. Really good tire, excellent grip in the dry and just as impressive in the wet. Winter 2010/2011 they preformed pretty well in difficult conditions, I had to drive from Killarney, Co Kerry to Kells Co Meath in -10C, black ice and a few inches of snow in places, the tires did lose grip a few times, but I found I was making better progress compared to other drivers. I did rotate the tires every 5000 miles never deliberately abusing them - I have just replaced them with the Turanza T001 so it will be interesting to see how they compare

Given 86% while driving a Alfa Romeo MiTo (195/55 R16 H) on mostly motorways for 41,000 average miles
These were fitted as standard to my car when I brought it. 41000 miles later and they are still performing very well.

The grip is excellent in dry and wet conditions, although they can be very noisy on some surfaces.

With 2-3mm left I am now noticing a loss of wet grip though so time to change them.

Given 89% while driving a Opel astra h 1.6 (205/55 R16 H) on a combination of roads for 30,000 spirited miles
Very good tires for average drivers. They grip well on dry and wet surface and they are not noisy.Very stable in the motorway, but if you push them to the limit in curvy roads they are not so progressive and tend to understeer early. Also they last long and are very durable with potholes and kerbs.Overall a satisfying tire that i would buy again.

Given 80% while driving a Fiat Bravo (205/55 R16 H) on a combination of roads for 20,000 average miles
Was fitted on my Bravo from factory.
Good grip on dry and wet. However noisy after 40 km/h. Riding comfort is also not a best side of this tires.
Wear is OK for me - I think they will last for another 30,000 km.
However I will try other tires soon.

Given 79% while driving a Audi 80 B4 (205/50 R15 H) on mostly town for 15 spirited miles
Had a pair of these on the front of my car, and they aged and cracked horribly after only 18 months. They were new stock when fitted, according to the date stamp, but after a while looked significantly older than the (actually older) Potenzas on the rear of the same car. By the time they were four years old, they had to be changed due to the danger of water ingress at the shoulder, even though the tread was still pretty good, so I “enjoyed" them on a track day. Never had a similar issue with any other Bridgestones...

Given 51% while driving a Mazda 3 Series (205/55 R16) on a combination of roads for 18,000 spirited miles
Ok Grip.. not very progressive, very similar to a cliff's edge (all or nothing)

Very noisy, wear seems good but i got a headache driving from london to cornwall.

I dont think i would buy these again, in my eyes relatively expensive for a relatively crap tire!

Have driven with Barum Bravuris (i know mid-range/budget) and were very good.
Will try the Avon ZV5/ZZ3's next!

Given 94% while driving a Subaru 2001 Legacy Estate 2.5l (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 10 spirited miles
These are hands down the best tires I've ever owned. Tried all the major brands and these are just superb. When I bought my scooby all the tires were different brands and despite the car's awesome AWD system it didn't feel right especially in wet conditions. I changed to the Turanza's with the advice of my local tire man and the difference in the car was astonishing. Even my wife who claims not to be able to tell the difference in tires noticed how much better they were. Bottom line, these tires are not a gamble, they a sure bet!
