I've had these as the original tirest that came with the car.

Due to road damage, at one point, I've had to completely replace one tire and have visited the tire shop a couple of times due to nails in the tire, and had them patched up. All these issues, were not the fault of the tire.

I've found them to grip very well in the dry, and well dry

Hello, looks like I'm the first review!
I had a pair of these on the front of my 2001 Focus 1.6i (bought my second car) on the rear were Continental Premium Contact2. All 4 tires in good condition and tread looked like new, so guess they'd only done a few, say 5k miles.

Very impressed with these Conti Eco Cont CP
Dry Grip, acceleration is very good and when overtaking, pedal response is quick. And off the pedal, low rolling resistance is good, can decelerate from a long way off, coming into 30 and 40 zones.
Good confident cornering, and acceleration out of corners is satisfying, pulling away.
In the Wet, very good, confident and reassuring. Puddles and standing water 'look' more than they 'feel' when you through them, compared to my old Fiesta with value tires in the wet.
Braking, wet & dry, good.

Non tarmac / Off-road, i.e gravel track etc. Not very good, very little grip, and wouldn't take much wet and gradient to feel like getting stuck! Same place with my Fiesta and its value tires were great on this and Snow.
Also Not very good on grass (farm field parking at events) ok Dry, but if wet, loose traction easily.
In it's defence, these are 'Road tires'.
I've now got Firestone TZ300 tires on the front, they have more open grip tread pattern, and they're much better on gravel and grass than the Conti's with their bands of tread around the tire (great on tarmac!)
Also, for comparison, these TZ300's are not as good as the Conti's described above.
The TZ300's feel 'spongey' on the acceleration, and lag when foot down to overtake. Conti's foot down, you're gone.
TZ300 Dry cornering feels less solid, but ok. Wet cornering, I don't feel as confident as Conti's.

Conti Ride comfort, Good. Rough edge of road and potholes don't feel as bad as they look. You, brace yourself for that rough bit, go over it and the feedback is less than expected. I notice the rough more with the TZ300's.
Example. A particular sunken drain used to shake my Fiesta and feed back through the steering wheel. Going over the same with the Focus and Conti Eco Con CP, I'd hardly notice it (nice!) And with the TZ300, I do notice the bump (not through steering wheel), but not as much as the Fiesta.

Conti, Road Noise, Quiet (I think so!) 60 on the motorway, Wind is loudest over the engine, and engine over the tires, I'd say it's the road surface that makes most noise.

Fuel Economy, When I got my Focus, with these Conti's 'as new', my fuel records have produced some interesting results. I Log all Fuel Stops.
Fuel 1>10 = 192.5 Ltr / 42.34 Gal / 2,012 miles / 47.52 mpg
Fuel 11>20 = 202.58 Ltr / 44.56 Gal / 2,077 miles / 46.61 mpg
Fuel 21>30 = 228.6 Ltr / 50.28 Gal / 2,296 miles / 45.66 mpg

Strange? loosing about 1 mpg per 2,000 miles. Would it be the tires wearing down? both front and rear, creating more drag?
Overall average Fuel 1>30 = 46.54 mpg
Not bad, pleased with this from my 1.6i Focus, and comparable to my 1.25i Fiesta!
and better than the 'official' Focus combined figure of 39.8 mpg

Durability - Sorry to say, not as good as expected, or Rather, they were worn prematurely,
I replaced them after doing 12.8k miles. They still had a good 3-4mm of tread remaining,
BUT! the inside shoulder of the O/S front had worn right down bald! while the outside tread was about 4mm
So I went straight and got them changed, for off the shelf, Firestone TZ300's
The Tire center checked all 4 wheel alignment with their computer lasers, and found everything near perfect, and none that would cause such wear.

Talking to local ATS Euromaster, where I've just had fitted to the rear, a new pair of Continental Eco Contact 5, replacing the Continental Premium Contact 2. Both worn evenly down to the indicators, after doing 16.6k miles on them. Not impressed with this low milage (I used to get 50k+ on the rear of my Fiesta, typically 2 front pairs to 1 rear pair)
ATS suggest, and as suspected, the un-even wear on the front tire may be caused by the same reverse parking manoeuvre at home (down hill, full lock right, stop, reverse, full lock left and down into drive facing up hill. No dry steering)
Also, ATS said the front tires (TZ300) were wearing well, 6 months / 3.8k miles. No mention of any un-even wear.

OK, I've now had new tires all round. Looking forward to logging fuel and milage figures.

It was good to read here, driver reviews on their tires, customer feed back etc.

I chose Continental, as quality brand, and the Eco Contact 5 for the Fuel Efficiency B, and Wet Grip B, Ratings, and pleased with the driving experience from the Continentals already on the car.
