I hated this tires!!!

Previously I had 4 Potenza RE050A (came with the car when was new), and despite they were not the best in terms of confort, they were pretty great in terms of handling and putting the power down on the tarmac.

In the wet they were like a 5/10, but in the dry they were wonderful (8/10 no problem).

I also had Continental PremiumContact2, I know they were not a sports tire, but I also liked them, even more than the Bridgestone. They were better in confort, equal or better in the wet and a little worse in the dry.

In terms of wear the Contis were worse than the Bridgestones.


But know, talking about the so called Ventus V12 Evo.

I searched and searched and, for the price, the V12 Evo seemed good enough for me, and in terms of confort they were/are, in fact, much better than the Potenzas RE050A.

The Potenzas were always bad and made the car too stiff, and for that reason I was, in fact, looking for more confortable tires. And that was accomplished indeed.

But the cons...

I drove my Ibiza FR with Hankooks for 3000 miles only in the dry (since July to a week ago I only got dry roads) and I didnt enjoy these tires at all. Very bad putting the power down, the side walls are very soft and, especially in the rear, that makes this Ibiza 6J FR very "nervous" when you push it a little bit more.

And these are suposed to be "high performance tires" ? Give me a break!

Yesterday I catched wet roads, and well it was a bit scary. I even got a little "surprise" aquaplaning and I almost had an acident (little, but and acident)...

The ESP was turning on constantly, an that never happened with the Contis PC2 and the Potenzas RE050A...


And If I tell you what I was thinking about theses Hankook and the begining... The gum in these tires were imense... Around 2000 miles to get the gum out (or more).

When I changed to the Hankooks I felted like the car was ruined.

I could go on and on, but I think that is it.

I don't recommend these tires, especially in a Ibiza FR (6J model).

Great looking tire, but doesnt have the go to match the show. Performs well as a day to day runner but shockingly poor on the limits. Alot of treadsquirm requiring correction and throttle balancing. More noticable in the dry.
End result, its a cheap tire, not a performance tire.

I´ve bought these tires thinking they would be a huge improvement from my old bridgestone turanza er300 that were mounted at the front of my ford fiesta mk6 equipped with bilstein b8 shocks and AP springs, and they were a complete mistake and disapointment... The bridgestone were almost dead, but they still provide the grip to enter the courner ok and at mid corner, if needed, provide the possibility to correct the trajectory with lift off oversteer. These hankook don´t have the same grip and because of theirs HUGE sidewall flex (I´m using 39psi and they still flex too much), they give up very early and have a very deficient road feedback. The fact that the bridgestones are a premium touring summer tire and the hankooks are ultra high performance gave me the wrong ideia of what they would be like. I also can´t understand the amount of good/excellent reviews about the hankoks. Either way, i hope my review can help who like to feel and drive the car, and is thinking about put these on the front of their fwd to dont do it and try something else.

I have these on a 2004 volvo v70 d5 which I bought to replace goodyear eagle f1 ncts which I cant buy now. The steering habits of the v70 seem to love the v pattern of both the ncts and the hankook v12s making the steering very precise (which on none v pattern tires the v70 is not) and I have noticed in the past that none v pattern tires, when the tires wear in tend to tramline but this does not seem to be the case with the v12s.
The volvo v70 is quite heavy on the front end and owing to its 5 potter transverse diesel lump can be quite unforgiving to park and steer correctly on some surfaces but the v12s make light work of it and give reasonable feedback.
I bought them to try on the front end last year and at this years mot still have 5 mm so have moved them to the back axle set and fitted 2 new of the same on the front axle set.They are quiet and handle the bumps quite well.If they have any failing I would say the tire walls looklike you have flat tires but I am running on 36psi so Iit is just soft wall is all nothing to worry about as they are reinforced side walls anyway.Overall a very trustworthy tire good stopping in wet and dry which on the v70 gives great driving confidence.l will continue to buy these tires .Hankook certainly imo can no longer be accused of only selling budget tires they have come of age and rightly deserve their position.

I've had two sets of Hankook Ventus V12, driven for about 25000 miles each, down to about 5mm of wear. The Hankooks were fun and perfectly balanced with the Mazda 3, always being well composed and balanced, no matter how spirited the driving was. However comfort was poor, especially on rough surfaces, so I recently changed to Michelin Pilot Sport 3. The Michelins make the car feel more 'grown-up'. Smoother and quieter, but more understeer and way less confidence about the car's limits. So, summing up, the Hankooks were a lot of fun, but not the last word on refinement.

Fitted these to my 2008 2.0 tdi diesel audi a4. The road noise is incredibly high. I've only done about 300 miles and already I'm startiing to hate my car. Will definitely need to change them. I switched then to the rear to see if this would help but car feels unstable when cornering.

I don't like this tire. Grip in dry & wet good and wear is good. But the steering was in need of constant correction like you were in a gale all the time,( yes I tried different pressures ) after the tires were half worn I gave up and had four Michelin fitted the car is now perfect again. I wont buy Hankook for this car again.

Not bad, very comfortable and a quiet tire (even on 17" rims). However, the downside is that these tires are quite soft, so they roll a bit on the corners. These are not performance tires at all but will be fine for a family car. The EU label says C,C, 70dB. Which is very accurate. Grip in the dry is excellent, wet is better than average but not great. Feedback from the road is more than I'm used to though. The tires seem to tramline a bit. Also, the steering now feels very light, presumably due to the lack of friction between rubber and road. It often feels like you are not in control of the wheels.

I fitted this tires and felt that it is very quiet but after 16000km of travelling, the wet grip is lousy. Going through puddle of water makes the car slip and I have to control to bring the car back to track. This happened a few times and I seriously will think thrice when coming to buy this tire again.
