Hankook Ventus V12 evo k110 Reviews - Page 8

Given 47% while driving a Volkswagen Caddy (205/55 R16 V) on mostly motorways for 10 easy going miles
Good grip in the dry although a tad noisey but then its a van so any tire is noisey, wet grip is poor and tends to light up the TC when taking off without trying, wet motorway's it doesnt inspire me with confidence, Would i buy again??? probably not.

I bought these after reading many reviews (as one does these days). But have come to conclusion that they must have been written by employeees of Hamkook, that or I just got a bad set.
Early days they were good, this was in snowy jan when I could barely make it out of the drive (rear wheel drive and traction control)on old tires.
Generally they were good in the dry and wet (less good in drizzle - not helpful for UK in spring)
However, the wear and the tire noise after about 2000 miles was appauling and got so bad that I considered changing them before the wear point. They are without doubt the worst I've ever had (that includes factory fitted P6000 on previous cars).
Whether or not they simply degraded with all the salt on the road, which in turn contributes to the road noise I don't know. But 8000 and the rear wheels are already on the limit! And I'm not an especially quick driver for the majority of the time.
Will be going back to Eagle F1's, or may try some Vredstein Ultrac's if I can get hold of a pair.

My usual brand was unavailable so I tried these tires. They perform adequately in all departments. Although relatively inexpensive, they are dearer than my usual brand - so I was expecting them to out perform their cheaper rivals. Didn't happen! They were no better and wore out a whole lot more quickly.

I submitted a reveiw 2010-03-31 .After reading others had good results with these tires, I thought something must be wrong with my set up.Turned out the gauge on the airline at the garage I normally use was pressurising 4 psi higher than indicated.Grip on par with C drives once pressures adjusted.

Given 84% while driving a Volvo s60 D5 (163) (225/45 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 14,000 average miles
I bought a set of two and fitted them on the front wheels. They wear down a bit faster that michelins and I would blame the car for that to a certain extent (heavy tank and front wheels drive). I've done 14.000 miles and I have just about 4mm left.
It proved to be very good tire for the price I paid (?85 incl. fitting).
Excellent grip on both dry and wet roads . Good grip when cornering and breaking.
It needs a couple of miles to warm up then the ride is quiet and comfortable . I'd dare to compare it to top brands tires.

Given 82% while driving a Hyundai XG30 (235/45 R17 V) on mostly town for 50 average miles
Just bought a set of four of these Hankook tires to replace my highly rated BF Goodrich Profiler ones, which I was very happy with. Just on first impressions I am very well satisfied and found them even better than the BF Goodrich tires. I was pleasantly surprised that although the new tires have a lower profile, they seem to absorb bumps better and grip is excellent. I have only driven on dry roads so can't accurately comment on wet driving as I've just got them, I also can't comment on wear so will be updating the review later. Price wise they were cheaper than leading brands but not very cheap either at ?95 each, however, I think they are very good value for money and would highly recommend them.

Given 92% while driving a Honda Civic Type R (205/45 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 1,000 spirited miles
Had these fitted to the front of my Civic Type R to replace some very badly worn Toyo Proxes T1-R.

Initial impressions are very good, excellent grip in the wet and even better in the dry.

Comfort and road noise are reasonable for the size of the tire and the feedback is very good.

Can't really comment on the wear rates so I will report back once these near the end of their life to see if I'm as impressed with them.

So far so good, thumbs up for me and I would recommend these tires!

Given 80% while driving a Mazda 2009 Mazda 6 2.5 (225/45 R18 W) on mostly motorways for 17,000 spirited miles
Almost immediately after I bought the car new, I replaced the original-equipment Dunlop SP Sport 2050 with this. I was especially eager to replace the 2050s after they tried to kill me on a winding road in western Saudi Arabia I drive twice every weekend and know by heart. The Hankooks made a world of difference. They could use a little more road feel and directional stability (my car has electric power steering, as opposed to hydraulic on my older 2005 Mazda 6 2.3), but these tires are exceptional in performance. I use on a 1,200-mile round trip every single weekend, rain or shine (more shine than rain in Saudi Arabia), and the Hankooks never missed a beat. So far so good. Also, like almost all summer tires I used, they seem to perform better the hotter the weather is. I noticed that below about 24 degrees Celsius, they tend to get disinterested - almost plasticky, with reduced grip and responsiveness. In 40+ weather, though, they're as sticky as chewing gum. In terms of value for money, they just can't be beaten.

Given 84% while driving a Peugeot 306 (195/50 R15 H) on a combination of roads for 8,000 spirited miles
I found this tire to be extremely good at holding the road even under hard cornering/acceleration. I found no perceived difference when the road was wet, other than a slightly earlier break in traction (minimal).
