Kumho Ecsta KU39 Reviews - Page 2

Given 91% while driving a Alfa Romeo 147 JTD (215/45 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 20 spirited miles

I'm writing this via google translate as my english is not that good.

I ordered these tires as a friend recommended them. He even drove on the track and these tires, the Kumho Escta Le Sport (KU39) were great tires for street use and possibly a roundabout circuit.

The tires have almost no limit on dry asphalt if they are well-driven. Can bend very hard without losing my grip. Rather; Never lost grip. The tires are somewhat uncomfortable, but I knew that because the XL version was ordered. Also at high speeds, 200km / h the tire gives a lot of feedback and keeps handling, for example, to send left / right to pass a car without the tires getting sluggish, giving you a safe feeling.

Be very satisfied with these Kumho's on dry roads.

On wet roads, the Kumho's also have sufficient grip on bends. Only what I find so strange is that the tires have enough grip on a normal wet road. And lose their grip on aquaplaning and give you an unsafe feeling.

That's the only thing to complain about.

Have the tires now 20.000miles. And there is still a profile. So the wear is very good.

Given 89% while driving a Skoda Fabia 1.2 (205/45 R16) on mostly country roads for 2,000 average miles
These Kumho's replaced a set of Avon Z5's on the front. There was an immediate difference with the tramlining gone, road noise lessened and ride harshness reduced. The handling and stopping in both wet and dry are excellent. I will be replacing the rear Avon's with Kumho Ku39's in due course.

Given 91% while driving a Ford Mondeo Titanium 2.0 TCDI (215/50 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 8,000 average miles
I brought two of these tires about 12 months ago to go on the rear and then last month another two for the front. In both cases they replaced Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance tires. I am very pleased with these tires especially considering how much cheaper they are than Goodyears. Dry/Wet grip far exceeds the limits to which I am prepared to push my car. Noise levels are very good.
I cannot think of any negatives with these tires. Of course I have only been running them for just over a year so my view is relatively short term. Not much wear apparent as yet. They represent excellent value for money. I will definitely buy again.

Given 70% while driving a Ford S Max (225/50 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 10,000 average miles
Good, quiet, responsive tire with good braking in wet and dry. However, very poor wear longevity. Only had tryes for less than 18 months, do less than 10.000 miles per year and both front and rear are nearly bald. Would not buy again for this reason.

Given 84% while driving a Ford Focus RS (225/45 R19 V) on mostly motorways for 5 average miles
I run a stage 1 350 BHP RS and as my 400 BHP buddy it is no fun if you cant put power down. I am glad to say that dry grip is astro! and wet well not being a wally and in total agreement with RS 400 up top there, I don't mess about in the rain, well nit with my motor anyway :) I had a picture to rear drivers side and had to, had fit Hancock jobby Will smith as I call them...Well, since then, very choppy at speed but grips all the same, will be buying replacement Khohmo or however they are spelling it :)

Got set of 4 (Kumho KU39 215/50 R17 95 Y XL) for my car, done 10,000 miles and so far I am pretty amazed with grip they provide.
I am based in IRL so it is very wet in here, we have excellent network of motorways, and driving my car even on high speeds 100-120 mph tires are performing excellent.
Stoping and cornering isn't a issue. Also tires have additional wheal reinforcer so it helps to protect alloys. Loaded or unloaded, wet or dry car, Kumho are always ready :)

2 x fitted onto a vw jetta 2.0tdi pd at the front
Fitted 3 years ago and covered nearly 20k
Worn evenly and has decent levels of grip in both dry and wet. also coped well throughout the 3 winters ive had them fitted
will need replacing at the end of the summer as now has about 2mm left of tread. over the three years driven mixed between city and a fair few of motorway miles. so overall quite pleased but have start noticing that they are getting more noisier as they are wearing down.
may buy again but may try some other tires but happy with the £120 price I paid including fitting for the use ive managed to get out of them

Given 59% while driving a Volkswagen Tiguan Sport 2.0 TDI 140hp (225/50 R18 H) on mostly country roads for 15,000 easy going miles
I was recommended these Tires by various friends, I was very pleased with at first, good road holding on wet and dry roads, slightly noisy on motorways at high speed but acceptable, have now become very disapointed as have been advised they are near the legal limit, when I have only had them 18 months and done 15000 miles, would I buy them again, on that performance NO.

Have gone on the back of the BMW, I've been a big fan of the Falkens and have to say these Khumo KU39 are even better. they just grip and grip, amazing grip in the dry & wet. noise is fine and cant go wrong for the price.

Given 83% while driving a SEAT Ibiza Cupra 1.4 TSI (215/40 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 6,000 average miles
I bought the Kumho KU39s to replace factory fitted Bridgestone RE050s which were very disappointing in terms of wet grip off, with frequent loss of traction from a standing start away from a junction or roundabout. The Kumhos were a revelation with far improved levels of traction, braking and comfort in city driving and highway speeds up to 70 mph. The only real criticism I can make is the vibrations and noise levels in excess of 70 mph. This tire is an excellent budget choice proving how much progress Korean brands have made of late and certainly worth buying instead of a regular budget tire.
