Michelin Energy Saver Plus Reviews - Page 2

Given 86% while driving a Alfa Romeo 1.9 JTD M (205/55 R16 V) on mostly motorways for 2,500 easy going miles
I have these tires, the Energy Saver + for 4.000km and before i have the same tires, but then the normal version of it. The normal Energy saver.
My english is nog as good as some people espect, but i do my best.

At first i want a performance tire cause i drive sportive, my car is a Alfa Romeo 147 140hp JTD, but a few days later i realize i want tires where ecofuelly. Cause i drive 40.000km in one year, it save's fuel and also money.
The day i put them on my car, the first corner i thought damn, these tires are excellent when driving, steeringwheel is much easyer and lighter. The previous tires (normal energy savers) the steering becomes a bit heavy, but now it's easy to steer to right or left.

I can't say anything about wear but i have much confidence in Energy Saver+

Also good dry and wet grip. It's not a performance tire but if you drive normal and not like a fool or something, you have always a safe feeling, even when it rains hard and much aquaplanning on the road, always a safe feeling and a lot of feedback what you doing.

VERY durable tire and very reliable . Grips and handles great , ever after almost 4 years use. You pay premium price but the tire is of premium quality as well . I just feel that through time ,the tire has become a bit harder for my (already firm Japanese) suspension .

Given 97% while driving a Hyundai i20 (185/65 R15 T) on a combination of roads for 7,150 average miles
This is my initial review of the tire after first summer season of use. The car came fitted with these tires from the dealer.
The tires feel comfortable especially on dry but they are good in wet conditions as well. I wouldn't force them though. I drove in torrential rain on the highway and they felt safe. Emergency braking o dry is remarkable and in wet is good as well. Fuel consumption seems to be ok. Hope it will be good for another couple of seasons.

Given 50% while driving a Toyota Yaris (175/65 R15) on mostly motorways for 40,000 easy going miles
Had a weird drone from 30mph, reduced as tires wore but very annoying. Michelin head office were not interested in helping.

Given 91% while driving a Citroën C3 (185/60 R15 H) on mostly motorways for 70,000 average miles
this set of tires was used for about 70000 kms
excellent comfort and incredible wear also excellent fuel economy tanks to these tires
the tire feels very safe even when driving fast
now after 4 years and 70000 kms it feels less safe and grip loss is noticeable when compared with new or mid life
I will definitely buy again
excellent value tire

Given 90% while driving a Peugeot 3008 (215/60 R16 H) on a combination of roads for 12 average miles
A tire that does what promises.
Too good with the quality and reliability of Michelin.
The reason I will not wear it again is just the grip control in my car and Peugeot suggests M + S tires (latitude tour hp) or something similar.

Given 86% while driving a Honda Civic Hybrid (195/65 R15) on a combination of roads for 60,000 easy going miles
Tried a pair that was made in Germany, excellent. Tried another pair which was made in Italy and were totally different in terms of grip. Will never buy again Michelin made in Italy. In terms of grip (both wet and dry) those made in Italy were very poor traction control kept intercepting. Whereas the ones made in Germany felt secure, excellent on grip (both dry and wet) have lasted well (60K+), were low on noise and comfortable. Would buy again but only made in Italy are currently available hence looking elsewhere.

Fitted to V70 2.5D Classic P1 Positives- Great grip wet or dry and still had usable legal tread after 40K miles.
Negatives- Became noisy at 26K

Given 86% while driving a Ford Focus MK1 (185/65 R14) on a combination of roads for 7,000 spirited miles
Have been driving on combination of roads, excellent braking on clean dry roads, but poor braking on wet. Quite comfortable even in high speeds, but tend to aquaplan.

Given 77% while driving a Daihatsu Sirion (175/65 R14) on mostly country roads for 40,000 spirited miles
Used on a very light car, low output engine, fronte wheel drive. Perfect in term of fuel economy and durability on very bad road on hills and mountains. Good comfort, acceptable handling ( the tires slip easily when driving hard, but they are rather progressive), safe braking, also on wet, bad grip on wet in corners and scaring with aquaplaning. On a small car they fit perfecly, if you are looking for economy and you drive quietly, but you don't risk even in sporty driving, just you reach the limits very early . The first set lasted 80000 km, turned every 10000. I changed it at 30% because tires became hard, after 4 years. Now I nave a new set 20000km, same performances.

Volkswagen Polo 1.4 TDI (185/55 R14 H) on mostly country roads for 15,000 spirited miles
I have had these on a the front of a 6n2 tdi 2001 polo with perfect geometry although there is extra camber due to the car being low. Having only been used to budget tires before I have found these excellent.
In the wet they are progressive and have enough grip for me .
Due to money being an issue I have Avon zz5 s on the rear and they cannot compare and on wet days at roundabouts they often decide to let me know by stepping out slightly.
The michelin are at the end of life now and on one of them there is cracking along the tire all around the tread bed but they have not degraded in the grip department.
I am not sure how long they lasted but I think it was quite a while and I will buy the same again.

Given 84% while driving a Opel corsa d 1.3 cdti (185/65 R15 T) on a combination of roads for 39,000 average miles
As an experienced driver with more than 600.000km on my clock, I think I can quite confidently comment on these tires.

As you can see here, https://youtu.be/WyeAZYL5o6c , after 56.000km I don't know of any, if any, other tire would still have 4.5mm of rubber.

I drive in a combination of motorway and country road (not dirt). They grip well on dry roads, are satisfactory on the wet and fare well on aquaplanning.

Mileage is excellent. I almost always get 4.5lt/100km on mixed journeys and 5.8 in pure city driving conditions with heavy traffic.

Never had any problems whatsoever, they give you a feeling of safety and trust.

All this if you drive like a normal human being.......BUT if you're looking for sport driving.......no, they won't satisfy you. Yes, they will keep you safe under all conditions, but for sporty driving, look elsewhere. They weren't made for this type of driving. There is the PS4 for that.

As for the price, it's only 5 euros per set more expensive than all the rest premium brands, so money is no issue here.

I expect to get at least 70.000km before I decide to replace them (if I wait for the TWI to be reached, they should be around 110.000km!!!!) .

All in all, I highly recommend there tires for normal, everyday and a bit spirited driving under all conditions, except pure winter ones.

Thank you Michelin, I know I can entrust you with the safety of my family.
