Neuton NT8000 Reviews - Page 2

Given 90% while driving a BMW Mini Cooper 1600. (195/55 R16 V) on mostly country roads for 3,000 average miles
A few months ago we bought a BMW Mini R50 Cooper as an inexpensive run around but were shocked at the handling characteristics of the car. The car would hop and skip over ridges, crash into pot holes, jump sideways on uneven surfaces, and lose speed over broken surfaces. We checked the run-flat tire pressures, wheel balancing, steering geometry, and even renewed one tire. A test drive in a more recent Cooper S courtesy car was no better. In fact, in some ways, the extra power made this even more like a naughty puppy - eager to head for the nearest ditch at every opportunity. But it did confirm to me that the root of the problem was the run-flat tires. So I bought a complete set of Neuton NT8000s. The difference is simply amazing! I can now see what the (UK) designers at MG Rover were seeking to achieve. The car still corners as if on rails, but the ride is now much more supple and well-damped. I no longer have to brace myself if I see a rough bit of tarmac ahead. Road noise is greatly reduced and early indications are that wear will be very good. Considering the price of these budget tires, recommendation is an absolute no-brainer.

Given 87% while driving a Kia Motors carens 2.0l (215/50 R17) on a combination of roads for 5,000 average miles
This is value for money tire that I ever had. Better then the Dunlop 225/50/17 I took off, very quiet on the motorway, better wet handling and better comfort. Sure I will be buying again and recommend them to my friend.

Given 89% while driving a Volvo S80 D5 (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 5,000 average miles
Bought these on the basis of the recommendations and from research which indicated that SAAB/GM garages reccomended them and, was reassured they are produced by a Yokohama as a sub brand. They cost significantly less than half the price of the Bridgestones they replaced. They seem quiet, comfortable and perform well. After 5K miles appear to be lasting very well and have definately done everything asked of them without a moments cause for concern. Would definately recommend them to anyone and I will be buying again.

Given 76% while driving a Saab Automobile 93 Vector Sport 150 Tdi Saloon (215/55 R16) on a combination of roads for 5,000 spirited miles
I bought 2 of these NT8000 for the front of my Saab 9-3 after reading several reviews, my initial impression was excellent, quiet, and the grip in the dry is unbelievably good, I do drive a bit on the hard side, however, after driving in the wet, and lets face it, the UK tends to be more wet than dry, I will be removing them, unless you really enjoy not knowing whether the car will remain on the road they are not for wet weather and in my opinion dangerous. Don't get me wrong, I haven't had issues in the dry, a fantastic dry weather tire and if we get a long hot summer, they will be going back on.

Given 87% while driving a Subaru Legacy GT 2.0T AWD auto wagon (225/40 R18) on a combination of roads for 4,500 spirited miles
Bought them on the recommendation of my tire guy, who is a personal friend, and whose opinion I trust (he runs a Mag and Turbo franchise).
Fitted new to my Legacy GT. First thing I noticed was how quiet they were. Second was how well they stuck to the road in the dry, and third was how well they coped with wet roads, sometimes with rain so hard it didn't have time to drain away, leaving 2 - 3cm deep on the road.
Also took them to the mountain, where they coped with icy/snowy/muddy roads fine as long as you weren't being silly. Only area they struggled was in slushy, muddy grass. Hardly surprising when they lack the big blocky tread of proper M/T tires.
I drive hard, so their time with me included track days and frequent loss-of-licence style driving. They were superbly balanced, and always gave me confidence on twisty roads.
Would definitely buy again.

Given 96% while driving a Lexus (225/60 R16) on a combination of roads for 4,500 average miles
Fitted to a larger family saloon car to replace terrible Continentals that were fitted when I bought the car...all I can say is WOW!! The grip in the wet and particularly the dry is phenomenal - even if I push the car harder in the turns and braking from 70mph to 30mph they just won't let go.

I can't comment on longevity as I've only covered around 4.5k miles, but so far so good!

I'd recommend these to friends and family and will soon replace 2 fronts on the wife's Golf.

Thumbs up to Neuton!

Given 80% while driving a BMW 520d Tourer (245/40 R18) on a combination of roads for 20,000 average miles
Fited in bmw e61 to try them against crappy dunlop sp01 rft. For the bargain price you get longer lasting tire, with at least the same qualities. After 20k miles I don't think 50% of thread is actually gone with my heavy foot. Will go for them next time.

Given 49% while driving a Volvo V70 D5 165bhp (03) (235/40 R18) on a combination of roads for 10,000 spirited miles
Bought these NT8000's after many sets of the fantastic NT5000's. Thought a newer design would be better. How wrong I was. Wet grip is dangerous, I can spin them up with the lightest of touches. Pressing on is a nightmare due to chronic understeer. Can't wait to get them off and get another pair of NT5000's, trouble is they don't appear to be wearing away!
Sorry Neuton, not impressed!

Given 96% while driving a Vauxhall Zafira 2.2 direct (225/45 R17 W) on mostly town for 10,000 spirited miles
I bought these for my zafira 2.2 after having pirelli tires on which worn down very quick. ive had these neuton 8000 on my car 8 months now and i've done 10,000 miles easily and they've only worn down 1mm. I'm very very impressed and defo recommend. they even seem to stop quicker when braking.
one thing i can fault though, is that i seem to need to put air in the tires more often than the pirelis, which is a minor fault 9/10

Given 90% while driving a Fiat Bravo (225/40 R18) on mostly town for 3,000 average miles
Really an underdog for tires.
Paid SGD$150/tire fitted & balanced. Bargain price for 18".
Had mixed feelings when I was deciding on new rubbers, plus 18" aren't really cheap to begin with. Found this brand and seems that reviews are very positive. I never believed in paying for overpriced brand-names, which they use the money for TV, billboard advertisements.

So far have driven about 4000+KMs on these and I can only say that these rubbers are really bang-for-buck. Stops when it's supposed to do so, both on dry or wet roads.

Heard from the tire mechanic that Neuton is actually a subsidiary of Yokohama, and made in Indonesia. So quality-wise, it should be quite alright for daily drives. This brand will definitely be in my list again when I need a next change of tires.

Given 85% while driving a Peugeot 406 Coupe 2.2 Petrol (215/55 R16 W) on a combination of roads for 1,000 average miles
Read the reviews from Saab/GM drivers so decided to give these a go. My Coupe has the 2.2 petrol engine so it is no rocket ship, but these fit the bill nicely for a realtively large front wheel drive coupe. Excellent grip, quiet and comfortable in the dry, and very good performance in the wet. They have handled the wet weather really well. Whilst they do look good, it is they way they match or exceed the performamce of premium tires but for roughly half the price. Can't really say about wear but no early signs (balancing and tracking is essential whichever tires you use).
