Uniroyal RainExpert Reviews - Page 10

Given 99% while driving a Toyota Avensis (195/65 R15 H) on mostly country roads for 7,000 average miles
I'm using these tires for almost 10000 Km and I'm very pleased on how they perform on dry & wet.
I drive with average velocity and mostly on difficult road surface but their wear is (so far) almost negligible.
I really enjoy their being "hard" .

Only had these on for approx 1000 miles, but so far I'm happy with them.

As you'd expect (and hope) from a tire called "Rain Expert" they have been very good in the recent summer downpours.
They are also much quieter and smoother riding than the Bridgestones they replaced. So if, as I was, you're looking for a tire biased more towards comfort/refinement than handing and ultimate grip, I'd recommend them.

Given 83% while driving a Ford Mondeo (195/60 R15 H) on mostly country roads for 1,000 average miles
After many years of buying budget tires and often encountering problem, I have paid more, the last three times, for ??brand' names. I was very pleased with a pair of Bridgestones, but my last tires (Pirelli P6000s) were terrible in the wet weather last winter. I experienced massive understeer and also the ABS system cutting-in on an almost daily basis on tight country roads. I've replaced the Pirellis (which also seemed to wear out quickly) with Uniroyal Rain Experts after reading reviews. For some unknown reason many dealers don't stock Uniroyal, but most can get them. I shopped around for the best price and then asked a local dealer for a price match and got a set of four for ?200 - fitted. I'm very impressed with the wet weather performance and regard these tires as excellent value for money.

Given 94% while driving a Toyota Corolla (185/65 R15 T) on a combination of roads for 25,000 average miles
I have used these tires for 25000 miles (app. 3 years) and I can tell you that I will buy them again very soon.
One problem only: the noise is above the average but I don't mind because I consider dry & wet grip by far more important.

Even though I have quite recently bought these tires, I think it's a real bargain!

Comfortable and quiet tire, but does understeer alot i.e. much less sporty than the Continental Sport Contact2's previously fitted. For general use they appear fine, but if you like to 'drive' sometimes, then go elswhere.

Given 87% while driving a Renault Ph1 172. (195/50 R15 V) on a combination of roads for 3,000 spirited miles
I really cannot recommend these tire enough, they really are absolutely superb. The grip in the dry is great, but in the wet is where this tire really shines. It just carries on gripping almost regardless of how wet the road is. The tire also gives excellent feedback and you can tell when it is reaching the limits of its grip, it doesn't just let go without warning.

For their price and attributes I would, without any hesitation, buy these tires again and recommend then to anybody who cares to listen.

Given 83% while driving a Renault Clio 172 (195/50 R15 V) on a combination of roads for 500 spirited miles
Most of my experience of these tires so far has been on damp to very wet roads and they grip superbly. Most of the miles so far have been a mixture of fast country road driving and dual carriage way. In the wet they are super and in my experience so far just keep on gripping. They give great feed back and let you know when they are starting to near the edge of their grip, unlike my last front tires that had a habit of just 'letting go' with no warning.

In the dry they have been great as well. We good levels of grip. i will come back and review them again when i have done a few thousand miles on these.

Given 80% while driving a Volkswagen Corrado 16V (195/50 R15 V) on mostly country roads for 1,600 spirited miles
Bought as a mid priced tire for fast road and occasional track use. Performed admirably on the road in both wet and dry conditions and surprisingly well around the Nurburgring - grip at high lateral G in the dry was well beyond that expected of a tire of this cost and on the limit there were no dramas, the car behaved as expected. Overall, really pleased with performance to date and would buy again.

Given 79% while driving a Honda Accord (195/60 R15 V) on a combination of roads for 1,000 spirited miles
Bought these tires as an economy performance tire for a 2001 Accord. The newer Accords have bigger rims and would probably fit the higher ranged Rainsport 2 from Uniroyal.

Thus far I am very impressed with both wet and dry grip. The tire might be a bit softer than other ones I've had which leads to a very slightly "bouncy" ride. However the feedback is excellent, and I always can tell where the tires are and how they're gripping. It's too early to tell about wear, but they look like they'll wear average.

Overall these are an excellent budget performance tire, buying these online was well cheap, driving on them is a hoot and I would definitely buy again.

Given 48% while driving a Skoda Octavia (205/55 R16 V) on a combination of roads for 500 spirited miles
On the Octavia (turbo) I found a big increase in traction over the Eagle NCT5's,with far better cornering in wet conditions.

In all, a very good tire for a very good price.

(f your driving style is "sporty" then pay a bit more & go for the Rainsport 2)
