Uniroyal RainSport 2 Reviews - Page 8

Given 93% while driving a Skoda (245/45 R17 W) on mostly motorways for 1,000 spirited miles
Unbelievable wet grip, we have a lot of roundabouts up here in Milton Keynes and these tires are perfect for fast in fast out driving. No tire has given me so much confidence. In the dry they perform really well with loads of feedback in sweeping bends. Made my Skoda ride like a luxury car on long journeys. Really good value for money.

For the price these are defo the best tire around. I have had them on the front for the last 4 years. Get loads of miles out of them and they never seem to lose grip. Although they are quite noisy, and they tend to tram slightly sometimes. But would definitely recommend this tire.

Bought these tires to replace some very worn out Khumo KH31 on the front and WOW what a difference to anything I have used before. The grip in the dry is excellent and in the wet is simply beyond what I thought was possible. The steering response is improved and there is very little noise and they have also made the ride more comfortable, which I am assuming is down to a slightly more soft rubber compound.
All in all, a great all round tire and at a considerably lower price to Pirelli and Conti. I used to buy the tope end of budget tires but I am now converted to Uniroyal and will certainly be putting these on the back soon.

Just swapped my michelin energy tires for these rainsport 2. I was more than happy with the Michelins in the dry and they were v quiet but had little confidence in the wet when down to 3-4 mm and no confidence in the snow/ice. I don't drive hard, my wifes car is an mpv with 2 kids on board..so no boy racing. Although i have only driven 1000 miles i am v v impressed with these. i did 250 miles yesterday in pretty heavy rain and they were brilliant. Very stable, planted and really inspired confidence. Miles better than my michellins in the wet. As it is an MPV i went for the XL tires and ended up with Y rated....i didnt need more than V but Event Tires had a good offer on £103 per corner. At first was not sure about Uniroyal but after a little research found they are owned by continental in europe and michelin in USA so come from good stock. If safety is high on your list of priorities these are worth considering..will be getting more for my Golf...great in the wet which is when you will need a good tire. If you have kids in the car do not scim on tires and buy the cheap budgets..getting something that will do the job

Given 82% while driving a BMW 328i Coupe (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 100 spirited miles
Just fitted the Uniroyal Rainsport 2's to front wheel's of my 328Ci bmw and so far they feel great, it's been snowy and slushy round here last few day's and they coped well, only tried them as i had them fitted to my parents Ford Fiesta early last year, and even in heavy rain they felt sure footed, plus they were a fair amount cheaper than the Pilot Sport 2's that i've been used to, not sure what the wear rate will be on my much heavier car.

Given 85% while driving a Toyota Avensis (215/55 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 2,000 average miles
Put two on the front of my 2010 Toyota Avensis, to replace the factory-fit Goodyear Excellence's. A bit dubious, as they seemed too cheap, but I needn't have worried, they match the best premium brands (as per the "Which" tire test results). Very good grip - wet and dry, handling is fine on my car, and with better than average ride comfort and road noise. I am expecting a bit less tire life than the previous Goodyears(from the "Which" report), but at the price I paid they are still good value compared to top name premium brands.
Recommended.

Given 91% while driving a Renault Clio 172 (225/50 R15) on a combination of roads for 10,000 spirited miles
Well where do I start... After weeks of searching for a decent tire I finally plunged for these. £56ea fitted through black circles. A couple of weeks in and WOW! I do drive my car hard and every thing I thrown at it with the new tires it's taken and responded much better than the Mich'es I had on before. If you want a tire you can trust in the rain and brill grip in the dry then give these a whirl!!! For the money you can't complain... FAB!

Given 64% while driving a Toyota T Sport (225/45 R17) on a combination of roads for 20,000 spirited miles
The extremely deep threaded Rainsport disappointed me like the Falken FK452 in terms of feel and driving pleasure. I am not sure if it is the side walls or the flexible thread that made them feel odd even the wife noticed. Increasing the tire pressures to full load recommendation of the cars helped both these but dry grip is reduced because the tire becomes hard.

Why buy either of these? On some popular high profile sizes “Dunlop SP Sport Fast Response” can be had for as little as £4 more but if you have expensive rare size "Kumho Ecsta KU31" are usually hands down the best value.

Given 89% while driving a Volkswagen Passat 2.5 TDIV6 Remapped 3B6 (205/55 R16 W) on a combination of roads for 50 spirited miles
Using 2 sets of 4.
Compared to previous sets of Michelin Pilot HP, Goodyear Excellence.
Good dry grip.
Excellent wet grip.
Great steering cornering 'feel' - poised and precises.
Average comfort and rather noisy.
Average deep snow grip.
Poor ice/compact snow grip.
No rim protection in this size.
Never had punctures, seemed strong.
Great tire wear from second set, but did drive slower due to fuel costs.

Given 84% while driving a Toyota Starlet Glanza V (195/50 R15 V) on mostly country roads for 7,500 spirited miles
Very good tires. Original tires when imported had good grip in dry but incredibly hard compound making them poor in the wet. The Uniroyals were a major increase in performance.

- Huge amounts of grip be it wet or dry, very little aquaplaning even on relatively deep standing water.
- very progressive give at top end,and grip recovered quickly when you dropped some speed.
- very informative about road condition, surface quality and bumps.
had incredibly even wearing compared to other tires i've used, especially for the length of time they lasted.
- VERY deep treads. can handle the occasional need to travel off track with ease

couple of downers;
- slight delay in steering feel at speed, but partly down to the tall, wide profile compared to the wheel (6.5J)
- can get a little noisy at speed because they pick up imperfections so well.

currently ordering my 3rd set and planning on fitting to the rest of the family vehicles with them when needed
