Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 Reviews - Page 7

Very disappointed with this tire. Bought a set of new tires after driving 4 years on Conti TS850 and 4 years on TS860. This was a mistake. First serious ride out of town and the car slipped away on a dry road, they have quite an understeering potential. Noisy compared to the Contis and road feedback has nothing in common. Would not even want to see what they are like in 3-4 years...

I chose these in size 165/65 R14 over Conti's Winter Contacts when there were still no reviews out there. This was a good choice. Excellent tires, pretty quiet and very good handling on both dry and wet. Wet braking is unparalleled, better than any other winter tire in this size. Good grip and braking on snow and mud. My biggest surprise was fuel economy - almost no difference to my summer tires. Somewhat expensive, but worth every penny!

Given 92% while driving a Mitsubishi Space Star (165/65 R14) on mostly town for 3,000 easy going miles
I live in a town where SNOW and ICE are common in winter. I had bought those tires and I am 100% satisfied (maybe a bit more noisy that I expected but really nothing that auto radio cannot win over). Wet , snow and Ice? NO PROBLEM. Dry? Even in high temperatures there was absolutely no issue. The wear seems also good. After 1 season looks brand new :)

Given 88% while driving a Honda Accord (205/55 R16 H) on a combination of roads for 4,000 spirited miles
Performing on really high level in dry and wet conditions (especially on wet roads), giving as much feedback as I’d expect from summer tire. Definitely buy again!

Volvo (235/50 R18 V) on a combination of roads for 2,000 average miles
I replaced Conti CrossContact LX Sport, which I used as all season tires, with Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 (as winter only). The LM005 stand up to my expectations in most areas. Nice and predictable, with good subjective breaking power in the dry, even for a heavy car. They really excell in the wet, being surefooted and nimble, really good. The handling and road feedback (both dry and wet) is fine, bit better in the wet, but it is up to my car which is rather a comfy cruiser, not a handling champ. After apporx. 2k miles driven it is to early to tell how they wear out but I didn't notice anything worryig so far. Comfort and noise levels (subjective) are OK, certainly better than Conti CrossContact. Can't tell for the snow and ice as I didn't experienced any this winter yet. It is worth mentioning that I dont't notice any fuel consumption increase compared to the Conti CrossContact. Compared to Conti WinterContact TS860 (225/45 R17 V) fitted to my other car, the LM005 is on par in the dry, better in the wet, same level of comfort. Would recommend to a friend.

My initial inspection is as following. The tires perform great. Just drove 1000km on them. A combination of 50/50 motorway and regional roads. So far the tires kept up to their promise. In the dry they perform as expected. Very stable and calm even the feel on the steering wheel is nice considering it is a winter tire. I had the chance to drive them through a rainstorm on the motorway and regional roads and they performed better than I thought they would. Again very stable and calm behaviour. But I have not driven them to the limit as it is not safe to do that on the public roads. So far I like them. I have not driven them on the snow also as there isnt any yet in my country. Will update as soon as I drive them on the snow. My only complaint would be that the tires are a bit noisy. Not as noisy as my Michelin PS4 summer tires. As far as the tread consumption it is too early to tell how they wear. Overall I think that they are tires worth buying. Will keep you updated on the progress.
