I bought this tire for my sporty coupe with keeping my country's weather in mind which is moderate winter with very few snowy days and quickly melting snow, so ice and snow was not a priority, yet I encountered heavy snow many times, and the tire didn't fail, took me up in my steep drive way on first try all the three times I had snow on it, even proved itself against sleet. Great tire, completely delete the wet road factor, however when its dry and not even that cold it shows its weakness, its not a sport tire after all, keep that in mind. Wear seems good, but its too early to judge, noise is acceptable, on the same level of my summer sport tires (GY Eagle F1 Assy.). At this point, I would buy the tire again, I hope it will last long tho, because in Europe this tire is very expensive and hard to find in good size.

In cold dry the tire had decent grip and handling, however once it was warmer, more than 10-15 Celsius, it started to lose some grip, in extreme condition around 18-23 celsius which is summer tire temperature I experienced its limit and my brake distance was also increasing. Rain and water was not a problem as long as you avoid driving directly into larger puddles. Road feedback is not very great, but it is subjective, I had the tires in a very tough sport suspension so it was a completely empty feel but not uncomfortable, but its not a sporty tire anyway. Wear seems good so far its not losing patterns very quickly, tho I only have them for 2 seasons. Snow and Ice experience is not exist. Comfort was OK but once it got a little warmer it become super loud, it wasn't a good experience. I would probably buy the tire again, but not for this car, its decent for passenger cars but not so much for sporty cars.

Lethal in wet conditions ... slow pull offs and the car is wheel spinning Roundabouts you can feel the car moving around and trying to slip into the other lane under slow speeds. Small puddles and barely any surface water and the tires are done. In the dry they are tidy however i would not push to far.

Very disappointed with this tire. Bought a set of new tires after driving 4 years on Conti TS850 and 4 years on TS860. This was a mistake. First serious ride out of town and the car slipped away on a dry road, they have quite an understeering potential. Noisy compared to the Contis and road feedback has nothing in common. Would not even want to see what they are like in 3-4 years...

The cheaper quality tire found with these dimensions (205 50 16). I am generally satisfied with the consistency of the tires over the lifetime. They understear towards the end but this is not so much due to the rubber as to the wear on the outside of the tread. (when I say that I ride "cool", I have already taken (occasional) oversteared turns at 140km / h ...). Good traction efficiency... I am rather satisfied with the value for money.

even in sub zero temperatures my crap, balding summer tires gripped better than these in all conditions, including muddy lanes. cannot recommend at all, dread to think how bad they'll be if there actually is any snow...
cant comment on tire wear as these wont be on the car long enough

TOYOTA CELICA MK7 143bhp

Fit these around two years ago to replace some very worn Pirelli tires on the front. They were exceptionally good in the beginning with great feedback and grip, even in the wet. The car drove like it was on rails and could be pushed.

The issue I have is that these tires have worn much quicker than expected, which is a surprise on a relatively low-powered car. I only managed to get 8k from them before the grip and feel seemed to fall off a cliff.

The tires are now less inspiring, wandering a lot and spinning up in dry or wet conditions - understeer is now a relatively common threat.

They were fantastic to begin with, but I'm ultimately disappointed in having to replace them after so little when other tires have lasted much longer.

I have only driven this car with these tires so it is difficult to compare the Pirellis to other performance tires but I have been very impressed with the tire wear - they have lasted 35,000 miles on a mixture of country lanes and motorways so I would buy them again.

Very disappointed. I have a 2005 Celica VVTi with Koni adjustable dampers and Black Diamond fast road pads for spirited driving (a little rallying on tarmac stages as well). Once the tires wear down to 3mm they are susceptible to aquaplaning. General wet weather grip is OK but understeer is prominent for fast road driving. Corner entry in the wet is significantly lower with these tires than Toyo Proxes T1-R. Dry grip doesn't fair that well either. Tire does loose grip progressively but the more you load the tire the less grip there seems to be. Heavy braking almost instantly activates the ABS on my car even when braking from 30-0mph.

I wouldn't fit these to a wheelbarrow!

What upset me most is the guy who fitted them has a Celica himself!

These were on the back and the tail constantly slid out on bends at 30mph!

Cushions give better road feel.

I soon stripped all four tires off and went for Vredestein SporTrac 3s all round.

Do not buy these tires if you love your car. Buy them for someone you hate instead!

7/4/2013. I drive a (standard) Toyota Celica 7th Gen 140bhp vvti. Oddly perhaps, I think that these tires perform better in the wet than they do in the dry. I say this because in the dry it is much easier to drive quicker and find the limit, and on that limit the tires may as well be made of Bakelite, but what you come to realise is that you are carrying quite a lot of speed into the corners so in terms of price/performance it is quite acceptable. In the wet they are very good, surprisingly good, there seems to be acres of grip, probably down to the hefty amount of sipes - the ZV5 is a good all-season tire. I had quite a lot of grip in the snow (2-4 inches of ) too. The good thing about these tires are that they provide good feedback and are quite controllable on the limit - although much of this may be down to my Celica handling setup (which is as the day it left the factory). Whilst in terms of dry grip I much prefer other tires (such as Pirelli's) - what surprised me was the wear rate of the Avons, after 2 years/25k of enthusiastic (A-road and dual carriageway) driving I still had 3mm of tread on the front, and 6mm on the rear - I didn't even get an MoT advisory on them like i was expecting. Again, this may be attributed to the Celica being quite kind to tires as it is quite a light and low car. However, I have bought a pair of fresh tires for the front and again went for the ZV5s, whilst they may not be the very best tire, the level of grip coupled to the low wear rate means that these are very good value for money in my opinion. Recommended!
