Bought as a high comfort/low noise-biased quality tire choice to replace very average-performing Pirelli P600's.
The improvements were good and did what was expected. Soft sidewalls were welcome in this instance, although one driver thought the car felt slightly less stable, (can be 'fixed' by raising pressures) - just an illusion really, as grip and control was fine and their resistance to aquaplaning very good for a summer tire.
A better tire than the older NCT5, lasted well and not expensive, so good value overall. I now use dedicated summer and winter tires on a different car, so unlikely to buy again myself, but happy to recommend them as an above-average choice.

Bought primarily to reduce the road noise on my Vauxhall Zafira which wears 225/45s.

The previously fitted Continentals were unendurable at Motorway speeds - these make the noise bearable - the difference was like night and day.

Car didn't handle quite as well as it did with the Continentals but its a people carrier and that really doesn't matter.

Replaced the Dunlops on my Astra Cabriolet with them too and it worked similar magic.

Great tires - at a loss as to what to replace them with now that goodyear stopped making them in the right size for my car.

These tires were fitted as standard equipment, and have exceeded my expectations for wear and safety in most conditions. I find them rather noisy but I have not tried other tires on this car, so cannot compare.
I would not recommend these tires for winter, they are a definite summer choice. Would I buy again? Probably not, but not because of the tire, rather that my next tires will have to suit more varied conditions and the car's 4x4 drive-train, so will be a M+S all season type.

A very good all rounded tire for all seasons and occasions. Definitely would buy again if there was on the market.

Bought these in Northern Ireland 2 years ago. Previously using Pirelli P60s. Excellences live up to their name in terms of ride comfort and dry handling. Little bit of slide in the wet. Down to the tire bars now and am going to go for another set of the same. Well recommend them. Pricey in Ireland (EUR480 lowest quote for a set of 4, 650 highest so far).

So far done 38,000 miles on original set from new. Mainly motorway miles around the 80 mph mark. Just about coming to tell-tales on the tires.

Road noise at acceptable levels. Tires seem well suited to car. Will buy again

I went for these after Goodyear stopped producing my favourite FI GSD3's in this size - They were recommended by the tire shop.
They just didn't work for my car, or my driving style. I always felt they were jittery, and feeding back every small road imperfection. I also experienced "thrumming" noises at high speed. I had them rebalanced twice to no avail - the shop said they were perfect.
Grip and wear was adequate but not up to spirited driving, especially in the wet. Eventually, I couldn't live with the steering feedback and noise, bought some new alloys, and swapped back to 235/45 17" GSD3's - until Goodyear stopped them in that size too! They obviously didn't want me as a customer!

I ditched some dodgy Michelin Energy Savers for two of these tires on the front of my Diesel Berlingo. I managed to wear them down to the indicator bars in only 8000 miles - a horrendous wear rate. At that rate, I would be buying 2 sets per year. Dry grip was fantastic though. They did save my life when some old duffer pulled out on me and I stopped without locking up. However, the sidewalls were very soft. They were originally put on the rear of the car, but they caused oversteer - so I swapped them to the front, which gave more controllable understeer. Unsure if I would buy again, simply from an economics point of view.

Excellent tire in any conditions. Road noise is greatly reduced compared with the Michelin Primacy tires that came as originals with the car. The Goodyear Excellence tires are more comfortable and have better lateral control on uneven road surfaces compared with the Michelin Primacy tires. The Goodyear Excellent tires has much better wet road grip than the Michelin Primacy and on the limit grip is superb. Whereas the Michelin's would squeal and lose traction on a roundabout the Goodyear Excellence tires would carry a few more mph and still hold a tight line without making any such noise. Overall it is first class tire and one I would highly recommend, especially for a Ford Focus which is somewhat sensitive to tires and road noise.

Came as original on the Megane, used it for 62K Kilometers. Very good grip and feedback, wet or dry, on the beggining. After half-life, the wet grip is not so good and seems easy to aquaplanning. Changed for 4 new P7's from Pirelli, decision was based on specs vs. cost.

These came fitted to my Galaxy. The fronts were changed at 18000 miles and I now have to replace all four at 36000 miles. I reckon this is excellent for a heavy beast like the Galaxy. The grip is suberb, they're quiet and I really have no complaints.

My advice - consider something else if you can. Changed from old favourite Dunlop SP2000E to Goodyear Excellence and difference was immediate on my Bora. Changed all 4 and as I couldn't get usual brand I was recommended to go for these by local independent supplier, but on reflection I think he was just trying to shift stock. Fuel consumption went up by 10% - yep, you've read it right, and that's despite v. careful driving. So dramatic was the change that I had diagnostic check to see if car had changed in any way, but checked out 100%. Only when researching tire did I find reviews that gave tire poor rolling resistance. Beware.
